I'm talking about the creature stacks next to 2 Pandora Boxes, that north of them is a Pillar of Fire, some Zealots and an enormous patch of Cursed Ground water. The way to get to the Pillar of Fire and the creature stacks is completely blocked by red tiles. There is a suspicious looking stone, if it's scripted to be removed later then I have no other question.
A few things I noticed about the "move twice in battle" effect from Commodus' Chest guard:
- If a stack gets high morale (to move again) during 1st move, it will not get the 2nd move.
- If a stack uses Wait function in its 1st move and ends up being the last creature to move in the round, it will not get the 2nd move (only get to move once before next round begins).

And you continue to ask yourself and the mapmaker these questions.
You are advancing as planned.
The creatures are accessible AFTER a quest,triggered by the big altair with the Sacred Phoenixes just above the castle of hero you defeated before you got the light-blue tent.You visit it,then visit the zealot and you pay a second visit for a bridge constructed.
And then you get them.
Even better,with another hero defeating angels in other water place,you will get other joiners as well.(Clancy)

Haven't played the map for a long time now and keep forgetting names.

For first case I prefer it that way, getting 4 possible moves because high morale is a bit of overkill.
For second case, I couldn't find a fix. Moving twice in battle is over complicated script, Bersy helped me with and did not want to bother him with details.

Hi, does anyone have problems with the teleports when trying to get the heroes from prison back home?

I am playing the newest version 4.0 Empire of the world IV commodus revenge.

They keep getting stuck on the map, and always show up on the same spot, even if I reload and try!! (

This map deserves a bump !

I was bored and I installed WOG again and I said I'd try Tew IV again, 'cause it's a great map. and so I did, started again a MoS game (my favorite by far) on 5th difficulty. I didn't have the stomach to try 6th difficulty, maybe next time

Later edit: I noticed the difference between 6th difficulty and 5th. Is basically same deal if you finish before month 7. is it?

Took me a week and I loved every bit. lovely fights, nice tactics involved . I managed to beat my previous best time (was m7w1) by merely 1 week. I lost a total of 1 week on a few heroes i met early on 'cause of their hatred against Arch Devils (Ajit, no chance there, only the Darkness Dragons were hateful but they were to powerful at that time, Risa was wiping me to the ground trough air shield so I had to skip and on fafner I waited 2 more days for double cast.)

Btw, did Byobob finish this? his progress was veeery fast, how fast did he manage to do it?

Again I didn't do Pyre quest. I killed her with some efreet sultans dead and 3 demons lost from Towers in 2 rounds. If Valery wants to have that quest mandatory maybe her army must be modified.

Kudos for this map and may the Archangels always watch your souls!

some one got any ides why the teleport is tripping with me :/

when i rescue the first hero that have to take the teleport back home,
she gets stuck at some other location and there is no way aroundŽit
it seems!! I have tryed to reload the save..

I use to play this map some years ago, and what I remember the teleport was always random!!

playing commodus revenge 4.0 now

wud appreciate if someone got any tips, have tryed to reinstall the whole game and the teleport is killing me

I never had problem with teleports.

Maybe you have some option/other mod activated,which brings this bug.
Switch some mods off or even better,leave only WoG and WoG revised with TEW 4.
Then try again.

I just reinstalled the whole thing, wanted to see if the teleport is still buggin..but I put up dimension door for commudus just to get to the teleport fast!! and still its not random, always the same order and they get stuck..
and I tryed to have only TEW IV and WoG enabled but dident work..
so weird!! really wanted to enjoy this map, its so unbelievable well made

I used to play this map some years ago, and never had this problem

even if I did costume changes to it, like letting commodus start with some atrifacts or something like that!!

not sure if some old saves is still on my computer, but in worst case I guess I have to reformat my computer, a breeze of fresh air wouldent hurt my hard drive anyways

Can I ask for a tip, when is it optimal to start converting to inferno?

I saw by the pictures uploaded by Ovidiug that he probably waited as long as possible before starting converting towns to inferno.

I always upgraded after capturing 5 towns or so, but I'd bet thats not a good ide!!
the later I would upgrade the more devils I would accumulate if played properly, right?

So back to my question any ide's at what point would be optimal to start convert towns to inferno?

btw, I have never actually finished the map, but I am soon

In fact I converted first 6 towns I conquered right away. and converted my last (9th) just by the end, in order to maximize marketplace conversion rate.

flagging 7th lvl dwelling can be delayed until you get a good number of towns but, again, I didn't really plan that to much either.

I focused on progressing as fast as possible and on clearing banks, also on unlocking the Water bonus. I also play MoS which is a very fast mithril farmer + always clear the utopias for gold and artifacts (which equals to more mithril)

Sry I kinda phrased my question a litle bit wrong,

what I meant to say was,
when is it optimal to start converting the forsaken palaces, dragon caves and such (7th lv creature dwellings)


My strategy now is that I start rally the dwellings, those you have to pay 60k gold for after I have captured and converted atleast 5-6 towns
I mean is that a good strategy? or should I wait to rally the dwellings at some certain point in game?

dont wanna put alooot of time into it, just to find out am 50% devils short if you get my point

would appreciate some tips on that by you guys that actually have finished the map
doesen't have to be a A-Z strategy hand book, just some pointers

I usually convert level 7 dwelling as fast as I capture it,after the initial conquering of 4 or 5 towns(After Damacon of Jaegar).
Anyway you won't have more than 9 or 10 towns at the game end.

And don't worry about the devils.They are not your main army.

There are more than 100 pages of strategies in this thread and in the older version one , which can be checked via a link in the 1st page of this one.

basically it depends on your general pace and faction, also on the difficulty chosen and your general experience on dealing with these kind of maps.

I finished the map as Master of Wealth once, around month 12 with a huge army, something like the one posted by master, and twice as master of speed.

Now what I do as MoS

-Move fast, invest constantly in movement points at royal stables
- use secondary heroes for bank clears or some neutral legions clear-ups
-populate mines with guarding Arch Devils because gold is scarce for MoS in the begining
- clear banks, all, before every reset, and utopias, also go for max number of fights (fights won mean more special level ups)
- mithril goes into devils (take atack and return , immunity 3 and fire immunity asap, also reduce defense, convert first 6 towns asap,  when devils require protection take efreets with ya having resurrect and additional casts. Genies can be very handy , especially in the first fights.
once I have these abilities I start investing in damage for Arch Devils, as much as possible as fast as possible. my aim is to have devils on 120 dmg by the time I reach Zydar, otherwise he is trouble.
clear cave of gods , always and aim for water bonus asap. once you have water bonus MoS will shine on linking many bank clears in same day, which will lead to 1500+ mithril taken in that day. My personal best is up to 77mithril (71 banks in 1 day) in month 6 , I am sure it can be better.
-once you get more than 7k demons and devils are close to dmg cap I start investing in demons dmg.They will be weak 1st as they will require additional abilities, like Haste enchant, double dmg , fear etc..(Fear can be usefull early on on Devils) also some speed but they will be decoy and will eat some dmg out of Arch devils , make sure you have enough mana to get em up. by the time you pass 15 k demons and 50 dmg they will become a force , by the end of the map they will be unstoppable
-there are side quests during your progress who can provide a hefty amount of mithril (Serena death, Angel Gabriel quest or answering the sphinx questions), you might wanna check for those

Imo, this map is about controlling its 1st half. Once you beat Aine you're powerful enough not to worry to much, but this is like 60% to completion. I won fights also by playing Chinese style (reload if not morale in 1st round) (I speak for Zydar here, Serena or Risa) Also I speak as someone who finished this 3 times, so I know it's secrets (even tough I discovered some new details in my last play ), I will let you discover the strategies. It's well worth it.
