Try again, after looking at THIS VIDEO

That battle is about basics in Heroes, understanding the value of "wait", evaluate the distances between you and enemy, calculate how many hits you can take before loss. Once you know how it works, can go harder and harder, is only matter of mind extension.


The video size is bad calibrated, you can't see the bottom icons, but anyway, the first action to do in all turns where you don't move is "wait".

Then in some way, is the hardest battle on the map, because the difficulty levels don't apply to it, no bonuses. If you choose lower difficulties (1-5), the following battles will be very easy. At 6-7 better you know what you are doing.

Heya,

How many Inferno towns do I have to convert playing as a MoE for a normal gameplay? I understand it's all about resources and Mithril. Are there any advises on how to manage your "converting" strategy? Is 9 inferno towns enough?

@lordroad, I don't know what you mean by normal gameplay,but I can give you some pointers.

As Sal wrote before,MoE seems to be the easiest faction to play.A lot of the gameplay is affected by the difficulty setting you choose at the start.

If you are new to this map,you could try the 4th or the 5th one,where you can play more freely than 6th or Hell.

9 towns should be enough,but the main demon resourse will be the Caves of gods after the Fire bonus unlocked.So you need resources/Mithril for stats and numbers to win.There are joiners as well at some map points.

In fact, a minimum of 9 markets are required to get regular prices when exchanging resources. So if you don't want to lose millions late game, yes, 9 towns are optimal.

Then you will play MoW and you will convert 48.

Thanks for suggestions! A lot of marketplaces does make sense since you can build silos for mithril!

I have got another question:

When you are supposed to get spyglass and speculum artifacts which are required to open one border?

I've never found any direct references to a location, it has been mentioned that an attacking hero can have them, but when dies he come and what's his name?

Spyglass and speculum are held by myranda and the other hero (don't recall name) in the two fortress towns, south east. As about the directions, you have a button in the whole thing appearing when you click on kingdom overview. Check all buttons, one shows locations for every AI hero. You can also download seer huts mod and use in with tew4, it tells each hut and border gate what it wants (on right click).

This map is a true masterpiece,  you are the reason that I am still playing heroes. Such level of challenge is unique a million thanks for making this map.
I have been tempted by the bonuses for hell difficulty and MOE is great to play, At 5. 1. 5. I reached Galthran and now it truly seems hopeless. My strategy was to survive first rounds then with the power of resurrect wipe them out up to this point and at the Piquedram f,ght I was forced to use mithril for defence and hp and now there is no way to destroy Galthran's army in several rounds. I have 750 ADs Maybe I didn't use mithril good or not harvested enough.. And it seems I am at least a week late for Galthran.. month 5 is really where hell begins

Any ideas ?

I don't think hell can be finished without demons. In fact, I placed the two necros on cursed ground to make sure the player goes through the farming joy and gather demons. As far as I remember, at every test, I had demons at Galthran, split in two stacks, with attack all around (only Hell bonus) + attack and return, the perfect slaughter combo of troops massed in a town garrison.

But well, Hell mode requires good timing of farming, mithril gathering, coordination between your 20+ heroes -never take a bank with Commodus, only advance and advance again. + if you play MoE, you can do some crazy things with the shrines of teleportation, basically the map can be finished much faster than Master of Speed.

I was thinking it is still early to farm demons , not so high numbers while it needs to invest alot of  gold and mithril at least now I don't have enough resources, it is hard to decide at what point you advance the devils and then start to spend recources to demons..
so what would you do start a new map or try some amazing tactic like you forced us in previous battles . Maybe I should learn the map and play without stress before trying hell. By the way I use teleportation to fight utopias and some very close CBs with commodus that's all

Even if hell is the easiest with MoE, once you know the map, Hell is doable if first time when playing Master or Wealth, granted you don't lose time by peeing behind the trees. Sure lower difficulties are easier, but also you don't get the Hell bonuses, which I add to encourage people to a rewarded challenge.

If you go Hell/MoW and develop every hero to max, then you can start farming demons month 2 then totally ignore the archdevils path-which is btw a wasted direction. In Hell, I didn't invest 1 mithril in archdevils, except for abilities which I can switch later with demons.

And also, Hell/Mow you can play the map much longer, despite AI becoming stronger with time, as you will be able to convert all towns, =42. So you will have kickass army.

I delayed the battle for a week accumulated demons and after 100 reloads I managed to pass . Then managed to reach erdamon at the last week of 5. month with merely 10000 demons , I tried giving speed and damage to the demons but I was overwhelmed again and again, and then I thought I could not make good micromanagement so wont be able to pass. But when I tried to spend my 7000 mithrils just for health of the demons with no speed and damage at all (enough speed with haste and prayer) I easily won the war . With 4 health for 50 mithrils I can double stack  health for 500 mithils and it is now 14 times of starting army with 7000 mithril. The bless and prayer works perfect for long fights if you manage to survive.. I found all of this very exciting really so it is time to move on.

But playing hell with MoE is sometimes really tiring, I have to calculate every short cut and use the speed of 5-8 heroes to be added for maximus movement while 5 of them are endlessly harvesting CBs, puting and deleting endless gates It would be great if CBs respawned every month instead of two weeks and they had double growth and resources.

Well, the CB's aspect is somehow new and I agree that is hard to balance to please everyone. If I remove it, I must find another system which pays weekly so it can make a difference for good player. If I spawn them each month, then everybody will be able to collect them, when 2 weeks, you have to plan and calculate, as you said. And you are only middle game, just wait to see in two months how will look to have 100 CB's to visit in 2 weeks.

Btw, I recommend the mod turbo wog for this map, it increases the battle speed by 10. It can save you up to 10 hours for the whole game.

Sword is the last, you get it after beating the tower heros, bottom south. Then there is a monolith 1 way south east which goes to some big dragons guardind the sword.

Really fun map, but it would seem there's a thing that isn't working for me. I bought the clone ability for my Hell Barons but it doesn't seem to work, any ideas?
