[Modding] Editing the content of text.h4r file
I want to make some changes in game texts, i.e. the names of hero classes and their descriptions. After I had extracted the Strings.Text file from text.h4r (using mh4) I tried to edit this new file using a hex editor. After I had saved the file and packed it back into text.h4r and copied it to the Data folder of the game, Heroes 4 crashed and didn't started.
My question is: how to edit text files from text.h4r making the game still work properly? I know that the probable cause of the problem is the checksum of the file changing with every editing, but if the translators could do their work, why can't I make any changes in text now?
