Correct.
In Hero the warrior who is actually named "Nameless" is allowed to sit 100 paces from the King Qin, and with each success he is rewarded by being allowed a certain set of paces closer to the king.
Literally, "Nameless warrior is rewarded in paces".

I'm starting to think people watched this movie without being aware it's an adaptation of the Odyssey, Tsar hinted out a very big tip, the movie is a well known one.. No ideas, really?
