I suppose you are using Conquistador mod, right? This is the final update of former "better AI" mod. You could disable dimension door from wog options, it is true that it slows a lot the game, as every AI hero must calculate each jump, and in better AI they all have air and wisdom expert. Also you should limit AI players to 2-3 max for a XL map, it will be enough of a challenge.

HoL, can you provide 6 best screen-shoots of your new mod please, so I can update the ERA mods thread with thumbnails and link.

Browse the pages of this thread, there are a few pics you can use... A lot of features are the same and can be found in HoLv3.22 mod. Maybe you could use some pics from there as well.

Hello Hero of Light!

I just wanted to comment that some of the new creature dwellings seem unguarded given their adjusted hero levels. I can recruit aethons easily  since the dwelling itself has no guards. I think this makes the game somewhat unbalanced for the player who is nearby.

Guards on a moded dwelling start to gather from week two, so If you can access it fast enough you'll avoid the guards completely. This is not of my doing though, I didn't change any external dwelling recruitable creature.

It's been a really long while since I posted anything on this forum. Posting on my thread again after this long seems almost as necro-posting But still, I would like to share some of my news with you.

For the past months I've been quite busy and thus I wasn't able to afford almost no time on modding heroes... As I said I've been working as a teacher all this time and didn't really have much time anyways... However, as you might know, teachers have a lot of vacation time and so I was able to edit a few things and make my mod (in my opinion) a little better.

To be honest, the fact that the Glory of War mod wasn't as well received (nor got any significant recognition, feedback, qp etc) as expected, I kinda lost interest in sharing my progress. I have been tweaking some little details from time to time and adjusted the mod more to my liking but only shared these changes with friends, since HC seemed to lost interest...

In any case, I thought I'd shared the progress with you anyway, since I think that any progress should be shared by any mod maker so that others might use them or even get ideas etc.

Amongst the smaller details that I changed over the past months (which mostly I can't remember) there are two substantial changes that will affect the game.

1) I introduced some new God Emissaries and made them more homogenous (which was as stated in the first page of this thread my dream for WoG) and furthermore I gave them a recurring theme: They are all Emissaries of Gods from the Ancient Egyptian Mythology. I also gave them new dwellings as shown below:

2) As stated, this mod will feature a new campaign, titled with the mod's name: The Glory of War. I had (in my opinion) a great idea for this mod and the campaign. I thought to add this campaign to the Heroes Chronicles saga and make it about Tarnum. Furthermore I decided to add the original Tarnum portraits and the original Heroes Chronicles campaigns in my mod so that they can be played in their original order (as shown below) and with the Tarnum hero portraits just as in Heroes Chronicles.

As you see The Glory of War campaign is added as a second chapter right after the Warlords of the Wasteland campaign. Tarnum will be a Death Knight (with Specialty to Black Knights). Here is the first scenario and Tarnum's bio for the campaign.

As I said, all of original Heroes Chronicles have been added and Tarnum's original portraits have been added and assigned too, so that the campaigns played in my mod will have the same aesthetic with playing them in Heroes Chronicles. Along with this feature, my mod got rid of the old WoG campaigns and so the original Heroes III complete campaigns will be available also, thus completing the set. The Tales of Amadar campaign (made by me) might be added as a bonus campaign.

I also edited two of the Planeswalker hero portraits to make them more homogenous. Here is a pic showing the new lineup and Tarnum portraits that will be added to the game:

So, that's it for now... I don't have any release date for these new features of my mod set out since I don't know If I'll have much time to work on it. However, there might be an updated download link in the near (or maybe far) future

Stay tuned for more!

most people don't bother posting, but don't think this mod wasn't well received. Thousands, probably more have played your mods. But most people ( like on every website ) don't post comments.

So, in the name of those I say, can't wait for more!

Yeah don't be discouraged. Your mods revived HOMM3 for me for a time.
When the mods get updated I'll probably play a bit more.

It's thanks to mods like these that HOMM3 remains in my play cycle. Excellent work. It is much appreciated.

Thank you all for your kind words and support!

As I said I was quite busy and wasn't really able to update it anyways. However, I noticed that the threads of my mods were descending through the pages of this forum and so I figured that people lost interest.

In any case, as soon as I finish the campaign (the Glory of War) I will release GoWv1.1. Stay tuned

Not specifically in your mods. HC has been more active on OSM and VW then anywhere else for the last months, it had a big revive with the announcement of the Heroes 7 but has been half-dead for long.
I'm eager to try this campaign, I loved some of the original ones.

Thanks for your dedication.

There's been some development on the upcoming campaign I am working on.

I recently discovered two Tarnum's portraits depicting him as a Planeswalker and as a Demoniac. I also figured out how to add custom hero portraits in single maps thus enabling me to add a (seemingly) limitless amount of new hero portraits in the campaigns.

The news is that I had a (in my opinion great) idea on how to use these things.

First of all I am going to edit all of Heroes Chronicles campaigns and make them WoG campaigns, thus rendering them playable with my mod. Additionally, I will enhance these campaigns with new hero portraits and where it is necessary I will add new portraits, thus making the campaigns more colorful.

Secondly, I decided to edit some of the campaigns so that they will have a playable Tarnum as a Planeswalker and a Demoniac as well.

To elaborate, here is the list of campaigns that will be available in my mod (in the chronological order).

1) Warriors of the Wasteland
The original campaign with Tarnum as a Barbarian. Only new thing here will be the addition of a few portraits.

2) The Glory of War
This will be my own campaign were Tarnum is a Death Knight. I will try and keep this (and all of my additions to the campaigns) as canonical as possible, respecting the Heroes III lore (with some artistic license maybe).

3) Conquest of the Underworld
The original campaign with Tarnum as a Knight. Few new hero portraits and small scenario corrections.

4) Revolt of the Beastmasters
The original campaign with Tarnum as a Beastmaster. A few new portraits and I am considering the possibility of changing the hero Tarnum is based on (Bron).

5) Masters of the Elements
The original campaign with Tarnum as a Wizard. Again, there might be need for the addition of a few portraits.

6) The World Tree
The original campaign had 5 scenarios. I will add three and make it an even 8 (just as the rest) and change Tarnum as a barbarian to a Planeswalker. Saving the World Tree seems like a job for my own creation, the Nature town Haven (introduced in Tales of Amadar). Scenarios from Tales of Amadar campaign will be edited and fitted into the Heroes Chronicles lore. Right after the Elemental Lords were defeated, Haven will be a Naturalist town once again. You will be able to play this campaign as a Planeswalker rather than a Barbarian.

7) Fiery Moon
Same here. Three scenarios will be added and Tarnum will play as a Demoniac. The antagonists will be Demoniacs as well so, I will kinda change the story a bit so that it will fit.

8) Clash of the Dragons
The original campaign with Tarnum as a Ranger and the addition of a few portraits.

9) The Sword of Frost
The original campaign with Tarnum as a Overlord and a few new portraits.

So this is it. The project of editing and making new campaigns is of course huge and may take a long while. But I think the outcome will make it worthwhile.

That's it for now... I will be posting some pics of the new scenarios once I got the change. As always... stay tuned for more!
