The truth is a good 8 cenarios campaign with an envolving story would be a awesome way to use Forge, Cove, Transilvanian Town and so many more.

Nah, I don't like Forge or any added town for that matter. I prefer heroes III with 9 towns (3xgood - 3xevil - 3xneutral). My only dislike was the original Conflux which I always thought was done poorly and was hastily added in time for the expansion. That's why I started modding Heroes III in the first place, to find a rather satisfactory substitute for Conflux.

So 9 campaigns fir 9 towns that's how it will work out. For me at least. If anyone else is willing to work on it, who am I to hinder him

Nah, I've tried to build some simple maps on my own and they are all poorer and less interresting then random maps from most templates.
I find them so bad I never decided to publish one on Maps4Heroes and I've been trying now and then for close to 15 years.

I've been working on turning the Heroes Chronicles campaigns into playable campaigns for my mod and the progress is quite satisfactory. Most of the original Tarnum's campaigns have been edited to work fine on WoG and I proceeded in making scenario maps for my own additions.

As I said, the campaigns "World Tree" and "Fiery Moon" will be edited and feature Tarnum as a planeswalker and a Demoniac accordingly. I am currently working on my very own campaign, "The Glory of War", which will be added as an extra Heroes Chronicles chapter and feature Tarnum as a Death Knight. Here are some teasers of the progress:







As I said, there will be added a lot of new hero portraits added into the Heroes Chronicles campaigns, enriching the scenery. There is much more to do of course... Campaigns need to be tested again and again... There is always room for improvement and the campaigns will take a long time till they're ready to be sure.

Hello everyone!

Sorry for posting this here, but the previous HoL thread was "abandoned" quite a while ago.

First of all I wanted to say that, Hero_Of_Light, you're seriously the best! You've  created my favourite mod, it has all the features that I like (I'm not quite sure,but I think I'm using HoL 3.21, where the Drakelings weren't replaced with Paladins yet, right?). I've also looked at the mod you're creating right now, and I can't wait to try it! So thanks again and keep up your amazing work!

When I saw your trailer on youtube, I got so pumped and excited, so I downloaded it (Btw, I saw the comments on youtube were giving this trailer so much hate. I didn't like that ). So when I started the game, the menu screen was already telling me that it won't dissapoint me (Also nice choice with the music). I've enjoied it so far, but I had 3 issues that I would really like to fix.

1) I wouldn't call this one an issue, I think it's just a weird bug that annoys  me a bit. Whenever I need to play the game, I have to start the tutorial (just start and exit) to load the appropriate creatures. Otherwise, it's just going to be a mess, for example: Sentiels in Haven, Lizard Warriors in Stronghold, and so on.

2) The game crashes every once in a while, (although Era used to run fine) with an error message in the game like this:

It seems that you could scroll even further, but the game freezes and I can't do anything.

3) When I enable the "New battlefields" option in the WoGify menu, the new battlefields in the game appear to be black. Everything else is fine, even the obstacles, but the background is black. Also creatures leave these weird, slightly see-through replications of themselves when they move. This is really bad for me, because these battlefields are so awesome and they were one of the biggest reasons I downloaded HoL. And yes, I have enabled the required WoG options by loading settings.dat and even tried enabling them manually. I'm sure HoL has downloaded correctly, but just in case something is missing, here are all of the files from my HoL folder and their size:

What also might be causing the problem is my mods manager, it's a bit weird. It shows me in red, that I have missing mods (I deleted them) but it wont let me remove the text from the list. I re-installed Era, but the mods manager is still the same, but this time I didn't delete any mods.

Anyways, I'm very sorry if I'm bugging anyone on this thread, but I just really wanted these problems fixed (mostly the battlefields). If anyone finds the solution, I would appreciate it very, very much. Also thanks again for creating this mod, I love it!

P.S. If the solution is not found, can anyone please, please, please send me their entire 3DO folder with HoL 3.21 (If that's the one I was talking about) that runs nicely? Thanks!

win 7 and + is causing problems with some original scripts as new battlefields.

Install wog revised mod to fix this, then install morn battlefields mod, it is even better than the original bf.

or HoL to do this, then update link:

1) place all bf pcx files in Hol.pac (or whatever its name is)
2) remove the "s\" path in new battlefields.erm for every line where it is present.

example:

!!BA&y2=1/y4=1/1:B^s\sand2.pcx^;

should be changed to:

!!BA&y2=1/y4=1/1:B^sand2.pcx^;


Then new battlefields will work.

But I'm afraid I didn't quite understand you. I don't think I have any "s\" in my *.pcx files. Also, the only folders I can place the *.pcx files are:

The HoL mod folder itself, Data, EraPlugins, mp3, Objects, s and AfterWoG. Can you please explain in a bit more detail? (If you don't mind of course).

The new battlefields always worked for me... And I am using Windows 7.

I would suggest you downloaded the newest mod found in this thread. It doesn't have most of the features in HoLv3.21 it is true but it does run smoother than ever and it is (in my opinion) my greatest work since it adds more elements to the game than ever and it doesn't remove that much of the original features. Furthermore, it only has one obligatory option and so it should run better than my previous mods.

I noticed you mentioned mods manager. Indeed I had troubles with it myself. Try and rearrange the mods in the list so that they all seem to work OK. Remember, HoL mods need to be set on high priority and WoG last in the list.

As a closing note, I want to share something with the rest of HC as well, since you mentioned Morn's battlefields.

I noticed that during a siege, Stronghold and Dungeon battlefields would have problems when the town is built on no native terrain. What I mean is that If a Stronghold is built on Snow, then Morn's Battlefields script will change the siege in snow terrain but the original Stronghold and Dungeon moats won't fit in the new terrain and they will look really bad.

So I rearranged them and now they fit. I changed Stronghold's pikes with a mud-filled moat and I rearranged the tared moat in Dungeon. Here are the pics of the final result:

hmm, I just tested Morn. The battle terrain is always accorded to the town we attack. I placed a stronghold on snow, battle is on rough.

I don't know how you did to have the battle on snow.

Sometimes it is indeed the original terrain. But most of the times it changes to terrain that the town is built.

I tried 12 times, 12 times I got rough while the town is on snow. So there is nothing to fix in Morn, but have no clue why the terrain is reset.

Never noticed it.

Ok, I opened morn.erm and looked what I did. Morn script exits if siege type battle, it was already scripted.

So there is no way that morn changes the battlefield when you attack a town. Maybe you had another script.

Maybe I had an older version of the script and it was included in my mod folder. I got to say though, I prefer my version of the battlefields and that's why I edited these two siege battle screens. Gives a more authentic aura in the game, since it is logical that a town built in snow, grass or whatever to have the appropriate terrain on a siege as well.

Sure, the only problem is that new battlefields do not work with win7. You are the only one to claim they work: look around, everybody reports black bf errors.

As I said they work perfectly fine to me. Maybe it is because I added the scripts and added my own custom pcx battlefields files in my mod folder. Have you tried the mod of this thread as well?
