29% US population says armed revolution may be needed
I'll start off by saying I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF AN ARMED REVOLUTION. But this poll shows the dissatisfaction with Washington and distrust of Washington that has been continuing to grow for many years.
29% said a revolution will be necessary, 47% said no, the rest were unsure or declined to answer the question. 44% of those who said "yes" were Republicans.
This should be a wake up call to Washington, just like all the polls that show an average of 16.5 percent of the citizens approve of the way Congress does is doing its job. But of course this poll won't be a wake up call for Congress either.

The poll of 863 registered voters was conducted April 22-28. It had a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.

Answer: Uh, Oh, dunno, you got an idea?
Scenario B:
Question: Do you think an armed revolution would be a good thing to protect our liberty from the actual Marxist moron government?
Answer: With guns? Oh Yeah, count me in!

Ah, Drakon, young noobling, America always makes everything be complicated.
IMO, there is no need for a revolution, everything seems fine.
Although, you might wanna kill them rich *******s and take their money to invest in science and technology. The same goes for the rest of the world.

I would like to see the actual questions used, since that's the only way I can determine if it's actually a fair poll. If the question is "Do you believe that an armed revolution against the US government needs to occur in the next few years" is the question, then I will concede that it is fair. But somehow, I think that the question is closer to, "Do you believe that if the US government starts singling out and attacking individuals and communities that there should be an armed revolution". Like Sal said, it is easy to get the results you want from any poll you put out.

Oh, I just figured out that this isn't about Syria.
Americans only say these things because acting cynical/skeptical towards the government is currently a trendy way to (attempt) to make yourself look intelligent and modern, usually as a substitute for actual knowledge. Probably less than 10% of that 29% has either the balls or the lack of brains to start an armed revolution. This isn't 1776. People can't go more than an hour without fiddling on their smartphone. I have every confidence a revolution would fail miserably.

Fred, just because you might actually mean it doesn't mean that a few or most of the people who say the same thing actually believe what they are saying. Using yourself or a friend or even a group of friends as an example does not make a trend ( ) when we are talking about a group of hundreds, thousands or hundreds of thousands.
On the link, it cites that ~876 people were interviewed. I'm wondering where they were from, if they have a common background and other information about them that would have influenced what they said. Oh, and that number is too low to make an accurate generalization about the beliefs of the US (it should be at least 3-4000 participants, according to my stats workbook and professor, aka at least .1% of the target population).
I also wonder how the interview was done. In person? On the phone? Internet poll? Ballot? I want information, darn it. >:U

I'm actually surprised that it's only 29% "US Population".
They asked those people if they agree with the statement: In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties. I'm not living in the USA, although I can easily say this might be necessary. This doesn't mean, however, that I want this or I'll join this revolution - because there were no such questions.
That's the whole problem with such agree/disagree polls - they actually prove nothing.

Crap poll, means absolutely nothing. Even if it was scientifically done, without a comparison to other years, it doesn't tell you anything. Other than that at least 29% of people are idiots of course.

If those saying that the armed revolution comes from the Tea Party, as Elodin suggested, then we pretty much have a worry from those rednecks who want to shoot everyone they don't agree with dead. But those rednecks can easily be countered by many as they only make a tiny minority of the population.
If those saying that the armed revolution comes from leftist radicals like Occupy Wall Street and jerks like ELF and ALF, then heaven help us all. I hate to see America getting hijacked by this.

Actually, violence has never come from the Tea Party protests but leftist protests often turn violent, the latest being May Day anti-capitalist protests in Seattle. The Tea Party has concentrated on getting good people elected and trying to kick out bad politicians.
As far as political affiliations and the thought that armed revolution may be necessary, here are the figures:

I certainly would not call it a "crap poll" because of lack of previous polling on the matter. Polls have shown increasing voter dissatisfaction with Washington and I think that the poll is in line with those many, many polls.
