No problem, I will stick around as I am around for few years already.

These forums are great. I've been member of many big Forums, and I think that this one is one of the best I've seen. People are mature, they all have their opinions, but they are not going ape-s**t about it, and I rarely saw any kind of flaming, where on the other Forums, Flaming is like a "good day sir".

I know that you were close with the Ubi for H6 Shades of Darkness, so I wonder, do you know something about Herald of the Void, that we don't know and that you can share?

Wish I did, I have no contact with doc devs I have to admit they have surprised me pleasantly so far, if H6 had been handled like doc we would all be better off. I am hoping for a new faction with herald but even if not, 103 cards for 5 factions would be an amazing addition. What I do know is that the addon should address a number of issues, the most prominent being that high level units are not very playable in the current meta.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, I can play any faction, but always loved Demons and Undeads, in every game, so I like those factions the most. I still think that it is way too easy to counter high level creatures that you build up the whole game with few low - mid level spells(Death Seal, Soulreaver, Shadow Image etc.) and I love creatures.

I am actually more than happy that there won't be new faction, that means a lot more cards per faction right? Last expansion, we have solid number of new cards(was around 100 too if I recall correctly), but most of them were for Sanctuary as it was new faction.

And same here, I didn't expect much from this game, but it turned out to be pretty good.

Out of new cards, some of them are sick, love the Living Nightmare.

What's the deal with post-match Gold bonuses? I've seen some (like Critical Strike, Overwhelming Forces, Courageous Defense...) but I can't figure out their triggers.

I'm just in for the campaign but I can't start the third mission because I'm 400 EP short to level 2.
Is there a way to gain experience against the AI?

I'm not very compelled to start playing against real people (it's not that much fun).

Had some time free at work today so here is the result. Hope it will be of some use to somebody someday.

I noticed that many people often confuse the kind of decks you can face in the game, so I decided to make a short summary.

OTK vs CONTROL
The most common error is between OTK (One turn kill) and Control decks. They do have some similar features but there is a huge difference between them.

OTKs are usually combo decks based on the combination of few cards that work well together and usually end in the destruction of the opponent in a single turn.
To get this combo the players of OTKs try to slow down their oponent as much as possible and at the same time have the fastest access to the cards needed for their final blow. Altars of shadow, Throne of renewal, Wastelands, together with various options to draw cards, are their best friends, and also other ways to block the enemy (Air magic si very good for this task).
It is hard to face them and only few rush decks, anti-combo controls and other OTKs can stand against their potential.
Example of such decks are:
Stronghold Cyclopse OTK (played with Shaar or Kat)
Oblivion tower decks (Seraphon, Nergal, Belias)
Some older decks of this kind:
Prison decks, Hall of torment (From closed beta)

Control decks may look similar in the way, that they as well try to slow down their oponent, but at the same time they do not aim for a specific combination to kill them. Rather then that they try to get controle over the oponents gameplay leaving no way for him to fullfill his strategy.
Dark, Prime and Earth magic, resiliant creatures and several fortune cards like Alter of shadows, Broken bridge or Wasteland  are examples of such tools. These decks usually have a hard time against fast rush decks, that kill them before they start to control the board, and some pure creature decks, that might have more creatures then they have destruction. But they have a fairly good chance against OTK’s and their best is against other control and common creature decks.
Examples of control decks are:
Kal-Azaar controle (Based on Armagedon, Dark and Prime magic)

Ariana creature controle

RUSH vs CREATURE DECKS:
The second large  groupe of decks are rush and creature decks, again these decks might seem similar at some point, but their aim is different.  Both of them often focuse only on two kinds of cards, chosing events in such a way that limits the card type they do not use.

The strategy of rush decks is very straight forward. They aim to do as much damage to the enemy hero as possible in the shortest time and slay the oponent as fast as possible. Low cost creatures with high attack, cards that boost damage and direct damage cards are their tools of choice. Some of these decks are so fast they can win in turn 3 or 4 (Second or first player). Their weakness lies in the simplicity of their strategy. When a rush is blocked at its start it may not have a strategy for the later part of the game.
Examples of such decks:
Inferno high damage (Xorn) or magic damage (Grant)
Stronghold enrage (Kelthor)

The last kind of decks I will speak about are creature decks. They might be the easiest to construct but not to easiest to win with. These decks focuse on creating a battleground advantage using creatures. These are usually supported by spells or fortune cards, rarely by both. Unlike rush decks, attack is not the primary value. Players often chose more resilient creatures to withstand any potential attack or spell. The goal is to force the enemy to use atleast 2 cards to kill one of your creatures. You can create a creature deck for almost any faction, but creating an inferno one is not the easiest, task thanks to their low health and agressive nature.
In these decks the nature of each faction starts to get visible. Stronghold will have strong creatures that can do a lot of damage and take even more, Necropolis will use life drain/regeneration and poison, Sanctuary will focus on creature location and relocation and Haven will make strong defensive formations.  
The best oponents for these decks are other such decks and rush decks (if they manage to stop their initial attack). They have a hard time against controls and almost no chance against OTKs.
An extrem version of such a deck are all creature decks. These consist of 80-100% from creatures. Their strategy is to drown the enemy in corpses, hoping that the enemy has less destructive spells and weaker creature then they have.

Hit hard? I find bridge and mana storm most helpful in such cases but each deck has its own tricks. Take Kelthor for instance, he can dominate with bunch of critters most of which can survive an earthquake, swarm or a combination of the two. I generally like to have an extra punch from spell, fortune or event to make my damage unpredictably high when needed.

Elvin I want to thank you for posting this.  I am sorry I didn't see it before I started playing myself a week ago.

I chose Haven to start with myself and I have actually come in 1st in a swiss tournament ounce and second about 2 or 3 times so far.  Sadly Haven is not great to play with in that damn 7min time limit.

 I just tried these Redemption Codes and it should be noted that all but 3 of them are now invalid.

 The "TH4NK5FBF4N5" code says that it works but I am not sure what it did.  I know it didn't add any Gold, Seals, Cards or tournament tickets.  I did not think to check if it added any experience though or if it added to my ELO (ranking)

 The "5ORRY54TURD4Y" code gives you a Premium Reinforcement(3 Shiny) 12 card pack of the base set.

 The "WE-ARE-NO-TROLLS" code gives you a Reinforcement Pack, 12 card booster of the base set.

 By the way where did these codes come from and any idea if there are perhaps more out there?

Swiss is unfavourable to beginners, if you get paired with a lvl 100 player you are toast. Choice of faction won't change that.

Maybe TH4NK5FBF4N5 gave you an xp/gold booster? Those codes have been given every now and then since the beginning of the game, some as gifts others as compensation. There aren't any others I'm afraid.
