Can't Create New Custom Hereos, Should I Rebuy Game?
First let me say money is no object.
Problem I am having is after buying all altar heroes I find my self unable to edit/create custom heroes anymore. As such I was wondering how long this bug/intended feature has been around? Was it introduced with the 2.1 patch? Is the only "fix" in the near future me having to repurchase the entire game all over again?
Sorry for the misleading title, I originally made a thread about dragonbone staff but can't create a new thread for some reason =/.

This bug was introduced with patch 1.5, when Ubisoft allowed to buy Tavern heroes from Altar of Wishes. By doing that, player reached dynasty heroes limit and couldn't create new one. IIRC it was fixed in patch 1.7.
But with new Dungeon heroes I think we have another Dynasty heroes limit and that's probably why we can't create custom heroes.

The issue has been forwarded to Ubi, hope they will fix it promptly.

So I guess I am better of just repurchasing the game ? How long do you guys think they would take to fix this? 3-4 months?
I see it took that long between 1.5 and 1.7
How is Ubisoft with their timeliness in releasing hotfixes/patches?

Don't even consider rebuying the game, who tells you that would help? There won't be 3-4 months this time, whatever fix will be short and it will be final. But if you can delete any of your heroes it might help. Did you have any custom heroes other than the tavern ones?

I had 1 haven one, I deleted it in attempt to see if if it would let me create heroes after words, no luck though.
I mean if I rebuy the game and create a new uplay account, I wont have to worry about this limit, I wont touch altar heroes....some portraits and new models aren't worth the strategic disadvantage being unable to create a hero gives you.
What makes me concerned is the existence of this thread from almost 1 year ago detailing the exact same issue I am having now, I am wondering if it was fixed and has reappeared or if it has been like this for a year.

It has not appeared since 1.7 which goes a long time back. It may be related to the addition of new heroes as avone mentioned.
In any case how your spend your money is none of my business but I'd still advise to wait a bit. I have reported the issue(I bet they already knew) and I'm expecting an answer. But if you can't wait, good luck

Thank you for the prompt responses, guess I will just wait for a fix as well, please inform us if the situation changes or if they respond.

What I'm saying is that unless a new addon comes along I don't think there will be any long term balancing that I know of. As far as I know they are just aiming at fixing the more pressing issues. I wish I'm wrong but it seems to be the most likely case.

Might and Magic VI has over 14 years by now and really don't need any expansions as is still superb game.

I meant Might and Magic VI Heroes , sorry if I didn't make that clear.
(The Ubisoft Franchise, not the New World Computing one, which was a great game in its time in its own right)
I will pray that sales are good for shades of darkness and maybe sylvan, fortress or academy will be added someday .

Me too, they can do no wrong in my eyes since their is a hotseat feature (a welcome addition for me). I love this game and I am probably going to end up playing the older might and magics as a result.

hmm You guys are saying this hasn't occured since 1.7?? It's been long past 2.1 and I got it recently....Since they announced there won't be any new patches anymore I guess I stuck with this problem :/

I'm afraid yes.
Hopefully in H7 they'll focus more on making a proper game and not a bugfest like H6
