Well, the problem with scripts is that each one must have a structure and valid steps. So when you want to change what a script does, sometimes is easy but sometimes it would require starting from scratch.

My script puts in memory all creature banks on day one, then gives to each one a different battleground. Then for normal battles vs mobs, it automatically checks the ground, then selects a random battleground pcx.

Therefore if you want to have different grounds for each wog object, you have to completely redo my second option, because no matter what you will add, it will still pick a random BG.

You should join russian forums, there are a couple of guys there which can help you, personally I don't have anymore enough time to start long scripts and anyway I am rusty now, as I didn't code anything for months.

It's OK, the beach thing is a minor problem so it is not that important.

Thank you for your input. I might try to edit your script instead.

And by the way I don't think you're rusty in any way... You've helped me like a thousand times and practically made my mod what it is.

I can use the Trainer once and change stuff; second time, it crashes to Desktop. [...]

Hi Sal,

I've been experiencing weird stuff with my H3 installation lately (not related to your mods). Long story short, I've found what was causing Trainer to make my game crash instantaneously while on W10.

After remembering that it worked fine after a fresh install, I decided to do another fresh install on W10 and sure enough, Trainer works right away. Close the game, start a new one - Trainer crashes the game right away.

Therefore I figured there was some file or registry that got modified between the first time game was loaded and second time. After investigation, I found what was changing and ... it doesn't seem to make sense - at least to me.

heroes3.ini

?????

Whenever this file is not the same one as the original provided by GoG installation, Trainer crashes. And the more crazy thing is, its contents don't even have to change for the game to crash; as soon as the 'Date modified' parameter is changed, the game crashes.

So this is my current solution: mark the file as Read-Only so that the game can't modify it. Now Trainer works without a hitch with my W10 installation, I don't need to go through virtual machine anymore. None of this is necessary on virtual machine or the other computers I've tried it with.

Any... idea?

Sorry for crazy situation, I'm just baffled by this fix.

Rosekavalier, sorry didn't see your post before. Nice to see you solved it, trainer helps a lot in mapmaking. I have no idea why that problem.

szamanyes both things are possible but require erm knowledge. if you don't know how, post in erm help thread with the very precise data you want, then wait for some Samaritan to show.

however I think there is a cap for offense, if you set it at 30%, hero will be capped rather soon. Please check this specialty cap first.

Modding works differently under Era. There are 2 ways you can do this.
1) You can use MMArchive (look under Tools directory in your install path) to replace defs in WoG. Open up ./Mods/WoG/Data/hmm35wog.pac with MMArchive then just drag & drop the replacements.
2) The preferred method, create your own mod that will override WoGs files. Create a new directory under Mods (use whatever name you want your mod to be called), then create a sub directory Data. Then open up MMArchive and with it create a new archive in your mods Data. Let's call it blooddragon.pac. Name doesn't matter, but the extension must be pac. Now put your defs in this archive, and make sure your new mod is enabled in your mod manager.

The difficult part of this is that you'll also have to edit a few other defs: avwattak.def, cprsmall.def, twcrport.def (so that your creatures appear properly everywhere (like in town screen, or on map when you attack). It gets even more complicated when you have more than 1 mod that modify creatures. The file you linked didn't contain everything that was needed, so I went ahead and prepared the mod for you. (just unzip in your Heroes 3 directory and enable in mod manager). But my advice, is to familiarize yourself with MMArchive, DefPreview, H3DefTool so that you can make tweaks yourself in the future.

NPC's (4 Mo)

I separated NPC's from "Composite objects"' mod so now you don't have to use a 80 Mo patch to get them. Useful as role playing or quest giver characters.

So me and my GF is back playing Homm3 Era2+wog and we started wondering if anyone ever modded the grail effects? Some of the grail effects are really bad, and it feels as if the grail could use a script or two to make it more fun and interesting. Not overpowered, just slightly more useful. Sure, money is nice but the special effect is what should make it fun.

Does anyone have any grail-related scripts for ERA?

ME

they are part of my Amethyst Upgrades mod ... but please wait for new official version (polished much and packaged as one platform mod called "Knightmare Kingdoms", the first one in 2017).

I modded many things - not only the grails, but you need to know that my mods have mutual dependencies and they don't like  to work without each other.

post your modlist
if you wish to use wog plus make sure there  is a proper order.
also there may be incompability with  one of scripts from "era script 1.23", ask khadras, he is testing  my moods when they are pre-release. WoG PLUS needs WoG Revised, Knightmare Mods needs WoG PLUS. Knightmare  Mods are under developement (aka. open beta). if you wish to help specify which variables and functions collides. also collecting error screens + saves would be  nice.
note that on knightmare mods topic there are newer version of wog PLUS than in 200+ mods topic.

Safe SoD

Hello Salamandre,

Is it possible to change the number hit points restored by Elixir of Life for Safe SoD?

Test: Archangel (316 hp) vs. 2 Archdevils

Test
Arch Devils deal 84 damage

SOD
316-84 = 232

Elixir restores 50 hp.

WoG

Elixir restores all hp

####

I tested with clean WoG (no mods) and for Azure Dragons and it can heal thousands of hit points.

Restoring it to its original 50 hp would be great.

I never noticed this bug, but also I rarely wear that artifact, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Personally I have no clue for a fix, as it is obviously hardcoded in the exe, but I will ask in russian forums and hope someone will answer.

Are you sure? I've been doing fights with just Azures, the Red Orb and that artifact for so long. Always tought it was suposed to heal all damage.
OTOH, the healing from Rust Dragons is 50 points, maybe it can be used to trick that.
