Fullscreen 1280x1024 off to the side?
I've had this problem with a few other games, but it's particularly annoying in H4 - playing on fullscreen 1280x1024 causes part of the screen to go offscreen, leaving that annoying black line on the right side and the game not displaying correctly.
And I can't play 1280x1024 on windowed mode for unknown reasons, it always forces itself to fullscreen, despite my screen resolution being 1440x990. (which I guess is the problem, but still)

Are you sure that your monitor can handle (vertical) resolutions beyond 900 px? You probably have 19 inch monitor and the maximum AxB resolution is 1440 for A and 900 for B so you can't play Ax1024.
Is the problem with 1280 common or just happens sometimes? It could be resolution issue again I believe ... check the capabilities of your monitor and write again ...
There are sometimes issues when alt-tabbing the game and part of it goes beyond to the right of the screen, so the whole game screen cannot be seen, but just a simple game restart solves that.
