player specs in random map generator

hey,

there is a thing called "Behavior" under Player Specs in the random map generator that will let you choose from warrior, builder, and explorer. What's that for?

To me this looks like it will influence the secondary skills the heroes of that player will be offered, but I am not sure.

Any1 knows??

It's for the AI. Each setting influences its priorities somewhat. IIRC Warriors are more aggressive, Builders prefer to camp a bit, and Explorers scout quicker than usual. Doesn't make that much difference though.

Are you 100% sure it's for AI only? I can set it for my own color as well

Yes, but only because it has absolutely no impact on gameplay when the color in question is controlled by a human. The computer can't really divine which colors the player will end up choosing, so it allows You to set it to whatever You want, in case it will be needed.

PS: If You don't set it, the comp will choose one of the three behaviour patterns based on a pseudorandom seed. If You're interested, You can check out AI 'personalities' at any Den of Thieves.

i guess the main difference is in the beginning of the game. Explorer buys a lot heroes, Builder buys very few and builds town each turn, mostly gold firstly, Warrior builds creature buildings, buys creatures and buys heroes and is aggressive

Well, it's all clear then... thanks for the clarifications

And I was so thrilled that I can finally influence the skills I'm getting.

I hate it when I have one skill left and I need air magic (or whatever) and I'm getting mysticism or navigation
