So you mean creatures icons?
For each creature there must be 58X64 big icon, 32X32 small icon.
In ERA/WOG all creature icons are compressed into 2 DEFS:
twcrport.def - big icons
cprsmall.def - small icons

There is also same file with map attack of creatures animation. I don't remember it, in VCMI it's not needed.

I was very confused about that cause I never 'looked' for ico just pic or def, so I wasn't finding any help.

By the way, there is another way of creating creatures.
There is a lot of units for game M.U.G.E.N. (fighting), I think, you can find there some gladiators or fighters.
Goro, for example.

New creature aligment for Dungeon:

1. Group-followers: can't attack, heal or maybe each one conts as a Basic First-Aid Tend / looks pixie without wings
- upgrades to Promiscous Group-Followers: can't attack, +1 to moral, expert heal or Advanced First-Aid Tend / it will look promiscous enough

2. Rebels - ghosts (with no retal maybe), that look like armoured peasants or something like.

- upgrades to(tricky): Samnites (during the night) - no retal, deflect, can shield other units (if I discover how to do it...), don't have ghosts hability anymore

or hero can choose to upgrade them to: Abused Women or Hoplomachus

Every time a Rebel Leader or a Doctore (might and magic heroes) attacks an enemy (even enemie heroes) he gets 5% of their numbers in Rebels.
This habity will work diferently with Spartacus who will get a more significant number of units from his special hability but will have to upgrade them to the next level and Onomaeus who will recive 10% and can upgrade them to any kind of Gladiator (but Rebels in his army imediatly upgrade to Samnites, so you will have to spend money if you want more then improved pikeman).

3. Abused Women / Furious Women -> Archangels with reduced stats so they can cast a powerless Ressurection, shooter, shoots twice, no distance, no obstacle, no melee, Abused Women Fury. Looks: will be based on the elves from H4, but I will try to make them sexier.
Furious Women - precision, prayer, Enhanced Abused Women Fury. Looks: one of the naked level 6 units from Dungeon in H5, maybe.

(AWF: Can be trageted just once per combat or in alternative just one stack can be target and they automatically have to continue attacking him until it's destroyed (I don't have a clue how to do either so I will keep the option open), no wait -> haste, bless, freenzin, fire shield, attack and return, two attacks in close combat, + 500% damage, kills at least 30%(1st option)/20%(2nd option) of the stack per attack (if I find a wav they will scream "It was him"). Casts first time you choose melee, dispels when returns or when inicial target is destroyed.

4. Hoplomachus trainie/ Hoplomachus - block, piercing attack


5. Provocators/Murmillos - based on Master Genies defensive unit 2 squares

6. Thracian / Traex (uses axe instead of sword)

7. Cestus (2 attacks, attack all around)/ Dimachaerus (enchanters)- 2 attacks, attack all around, freenzin, immune to blind, expert haste, dispel, block

I tried to make that creature def and couldn't find how to make her incapable of attack but rebels upgrades and AWF are the things I personaly find to experimental.

What do you think of cast forcefield as Samnites 'Shield units'? For me looks like it, but I think it should have do be cast connected to the Samnites, not any place of the map you want it, and have no idea how to do it. Maybe peaces of quicksand worked better?

In DEF this creature should not have frames in group "Attack Up", "A. down", A. straight", "shoot up/down/straight".
I don't know how to do this in ERA/VCMI.

Guys...the attack action is hardcoded, if you remove attack frames, the game will crash. You have to stop the attack with erm, don't touch at the def.

In VCMI there are some ways to stop creature from attacking
1) give it spellcaster ability and unlimited number of casts so it cannot attack
or
2) give it "shooter",  "free shooting" and "no retaliation" (unit cannot retaliate) (helps warmachine DEFs to not make the attack)
or
3) give it "not active". This is useless because creature only stays on field doing nothing. But this can be used to some warmachine with spell resistance aura. So it's only function is to protect from spells. (don't tested it, it's only proposition).

Have the idea while reading you: can't they be defined as first aid-tends?
Of course, the option for FA, don't remember if 1 or 2 will have to be allways on...

Another thing, if you don't mind, I see as Luna can beat the hydras first day but you said all level 7 dwellings... how the hell can she beat red dragons, green dragons and specially 6 firebirds, all immune to spell and with dragon breath?

Didn't found it yeat but I can give you a context.

Some recent mod, I would swear LORD, but it isn't, changed the specialities of several heroes namely: Neela and the female archer who is also armorer specialist, Brissa and Luna.

From my experience, my opinion is this: if you don't have any clue about how to mod, no erm or graphical knowledge, don't lose your time to imagine extravagant abilities then put them on paper, just to find out later that can't be done or needs serious tweaking. It's like creating a rocket to reach the moon but never studied physics. Will never work.

Try instead to familiarize a bit with erm, then it will give you other ideas as well.

Other Spartacus characters

What do you think could work better?

Create oposing factions for Castle (Romans, Glaber, Ilythia, César, Crassus, etc...), Inferno (Axor, The Egipcian and the rest of his crew)

Or transform extension heroes truning them to characters of the history.

Roland - Glaber (Angels specialist)

Catherine - Ilythia (I don't know why hiting a head in the floor reminds me of this but ...) turn enemys to stone.

Turn useless Torosar into giants specialist, with archery and air and precision as spell.

Turn Xeron into Devils specialist type 3 call him Crassus

and so on... ?

Sorry Macron1, when I saw this I hadn't checked "Levels of Speciality" thread yet...

You mean use "Levels of Speciality" to make this specialities increase with time?
I rather think it would be a fantastic idea but probably better served as somekind of "Map option" - only runs if the other mod is active, not "to use this mod implies to use 'Levels of Speciality' also.", what do you think?


I just finish reading thread, didn't looked in the ERM files so I maybe dreaming...
