Sorry I just saw this Sleeping_Sun I'm running a wee tad on the slow side.

Very nice, I enjoyed it.

Good imagery of what I call the Eternal-battle. That was my perception...anyway.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
It is a battle of white swan and the black swan, however it can be interpreted from different points of view, depending from person to person.

Yes, that tis the way of all Art...tis it not?

Sharing personal poetry has been an interesting experience. When I got vastly differently responses, I knew I must be on to something.

Time passed though, now I wrtie little mystery, just simple heartfelt "do you know this? sort of beauty...like a cushy lazy-boy recliner and a cold snowy day. <L>

Life in the frames
“For Maye”

A picture of a her family farm
hangs above the headboard.
Barns, silos and corrals,
surround cows and horses.
Chickens in a coop and pigs in a sty,
are barely visible within the scene.
Generations of animals over time,
represented by only a few.
A windmill can be noticed,
but its prominence in the barnyard is lost.
The children’s trees can be seen,
but the many climbing’s and rope swings,
are only present in her memories of home.
Her eyes scan the small room
and rest on another framed impression.
A large old family photograph
sits on top of an unused TV.
The camera that day caught the images
of a father and his brothers who taught her the outdoor ways.
Aunts who glowed with state fair recipes to share.
A loving mother’s face of tenderness and faith,
her spirit forever a part of hers.
Older bothers who stood by her through the years
and the sisters who easily shared her tears.
The broad grinning face was grandpas
who teased her as a child and adult.
A beautiful wedding quilt came to mind
as she looked at the gifted hands of grandma.
Maye’s eyes move once more,
and fix on another moment of her past.
A beaming young husband stands next to her.
His eyes full of excitement and expectation
on their wedding day so many decades ago.
She still feels him nearby
like he has never left her side.

Through her joy’s and sorrow’s in life,
he was friend and companion to her.
It was the little things he did for his wife,
that she would always remember most.
He teased her like her grandpa,
cared for her like grandma,
shared with her like aunt or uncle,
helped her like sister or brother,
treasured her like a father,
and loved her like a mother.
Maye slowly made her way back to her bed
and worked her way under the blanket.
She had looked out across the years,
refreshed her heart with the faces of her family.
Now her patient gaze,
focused on heaven.
Where paradise waits
In wondrous glory.

ps Maye was mom’s roommate. I met her on a visit and she died soon after. Glad I took the time to write what I witnessed...you will likely see this scene one day if you have not already.

Copy-pasta from the RT thread:

I hate love. I can't imagine my life without it. Got struck by love fever again. Losing my mind. I need it. I'm better off without it. I wanna tell everyone how I feel. I hope no one finds out.

Help. Or don't. It's kind of nice like this. I can't bear it anymore.

i am just a void that you would avoid
i want to scream the scream that no one can hear
and shatter the world like so much glass
would anyone care if i stepped out of my space and time,
and into yours?
i was born for another day, not today
i have no purpose, and nothing to say
i lie in the blink of an eye, here and gone
blown through your world
detached and unrelated
peaceful in my own time and place, i am faceless.
i am fully aware, that i'm not there
and that doesn't bother me
because i don't care.
i don't want to play by the rules
because rules are for fools, and tools
i make mistake after mistake after mistake
and nobody cares, nobody's paying attention.
i'm not here, i'm not anywhere.
lost, detached, forever fading into black
a feather floating in the breeze
that never touches ground.

Rainfall

The weeping stones have told a tale
I sat there and listened
A mighty man once lived
Now his name's but a whisper

There was a time
Long, long ago
In a land far away
Where dreams came true
The man stood firmly on the ground
Free of any fear
His face was brighter than the sun
Yet his future was not clear

He strode across the fields
He ran and fought
Without a single thought
Life seemed to never end
And as it went on
The man grew bolder
And before he even realized
His body got colder

The ground embraced him
As if they were meant for eachother
And he was forever gone
Along with the rain
After the rainfall

you're the light in my darkness
the light of my life
the light that burns me, that i cannot touch
because i love you too much
i'd give you the best of me
i'd give you the whole world
i'd give you my own life
but you wouldn't want it
and you don't.
that knife, that knife again
twisting against my heart
the pain that, now, only you can give
i am near completely dead, and i find i still live
this wretched, forsaken heart still beats.
it only beats for you.
i would kill it, just to be near you
just so you would hold me
tight, again.
and revive me with your own heartbeat
to start the cycle all over again.

It takes a lot to see
A simple thing is obsolete
One word with a myriad of meanings
Never has it been so deep

So I drown
Indefinitely

Let me live
Do you hear me scratching
The door to my past
Now that I know what to do
What to do at last

And I'll drown
So help me

Out of my luck
I wait for the day
To hear
To know
To believe
That you'll come and stay
Never ever go away

But I frown
Anyway

Nothing seems right anymore
Like an old tree burning
I hear cracks within
But it's not the fire
It's the torment
It's the fear

For I fear
My whole life

The fields are desolate
The fields that I've known
It is an allegory
A good one at that
Does it matter however
It surely does not

Always ready
To be off guard

An old poem/song, although it is a little bit dark...

XXXXXhouse XXXXX = ore + wh (sorry for the nasty word but it is a part of the song/poem )

In the deep gloom of this XXXXXhouse
children never die.
Into spirits we all now douse
never we are dry.

Sleeping with the patrons in bed
bleed beneath the sky.
Before 'tis done you wish you're dead
do not slip a sigh.

As I get up sharp pain stings me
innocent was I.
Pull out red blob, knowledge haunts me
never I should cry.

If a baby comes now hither
mother will be high.
Fry will take it, slay it, dither;
far from mother's eye.

All the dirt and stain will not wash
futile 'tis to try.
I don't know why you heed my bosh
you should better fly.

Tired is soul, sleepless all week
I and other fry.
Cold is the night, wet is my cheek
cry … cry … cry.

THIS THREAD DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION!

Hesitate one more time
One more time in our life
And it'll all go away forever
And everything will be for naught

The pile builds up
And I can feel the momentum
It takes only one push
A single color from the spectrum
To blind me
To be the thing that I loathe

But I am the reason
I am the law
I am now everything
That you will ever know
Disaster
Shock
Silence
It all falls in place
Surrender
Dismember
Remember
A lone survivor
You or I

Believe it or not
Life is slipping through my fingers
And all the crossroads I've built
Are parallel to eachother
They align
To make a sign
Still I'm so blind

I'm not ready
I will never be
Pretend it's nothing really
Pretend that you don't see
Pretend we are one
Pretend when we are undone

The Bookstore

Gunshots echoed in the streets today
Freezing the children outside at play
Young minds and hearts full of fear inside
Dashed for cover a place to hide
They did not escape the murderous scene
Violence had ended the life of a teen
The young boys turned cold and hard
Too much danger to play in the yard
Worry was with them day and night
Living on edge, ready for flight
We have to be tough they told themselves
There is little food on our shelves
One day they walked down the street
No peril for the moment at their feet
They were passing the front of an old eyesore
Reading “Your dreams await open the door”
The message stopped the two young teens
Lets go inside and see what it means
The boys entered the old bookstore
Webs in the corners and dust on the floor
"Can I help you young men?" an old man said
"How about a book of miracles that you have read?"
"No son, I’ve no magic potions for sale"
"But on these shelves you’ll find wonderful tales"
"What sort of stories would do us any good?"
"There are no books like these in the hood"
"If the books are not there, neither should you be"
"Your mind is the first place you have to be free"
"Between the pages you can find your way"
"To make your dreams come to life one day"
"Boys refuse to let the good in you die"
"In the writing of others your hope may lie
"Old man if you are so smart, why are you here?"
"Young man it’s for you I keep this knowledge near."

here i stand
a nightmare in a daydream
living in my own subconscious
i've been traveling down here
for decades
down here for so long,
traveling through the tunnels
that my eyes are well-accustomed
to the darkness.
so accustomed, that light blinds me
blinds me to the reality
that is the darkness
as unreal as it all is, it is my own reality
that continues to keep me
from understanding the light
the light is a daydream.
an illusion that is agony
one that can kill, like a mirage in a desert
there is no light, because light is only hope
and hope doesn't change reality
the reality is: there is only darkness
a nightmare in a daydream.

One, two, three It’s not a dance, it’s a story
Of me and you
Remember like lovers we were in the snow of a past winter.
Our love was a melody sung by an ancient singer
One, two, three, one, two three
Can’t you see the road we walked on together
Made out of bad jokes and unfinished letters
Wandering around, lost on it forever.
One; two three, one two three
The blue ball is turning and it wants to fall
You sitting next to your phone, knowing I won’t call
I’m so tired and I want to sleep.
Keep your heart in your eyes full of tears.
Mine is gone, replaced with loneliness.

Again, an old poem... I think I wrote it this year, but it might be that it was previous...

BLÆCCYNING

I

The knights came into the great hall of the king,
all gloomy and dim, a place where bards would sing
the tales told thousand times, unforgotten and few,
to the loud and merry men, silenced only by a dew,
either gold or red, which puts the warlords to sleep
while leaving Blæccyning fade all silent to peep.

II

We arrived and were welcomed by the maiden fare,
the king's jewel of a wife, while she guided us there
inside the huge hall, being all warm, long and wide
where nothing from the warrior's senses could hide,
yet Blæccyning sit far there unnoticed, undisturbed,
never connected to the world, simply imperturbed.

III

Slightly ill the laden queen was; she took her leave,
while the rest of us listened the stories we believe,
though my ears were there my eyes were elsewhere
focused 'pon Blæccyning, which sat right over there
on the throne of the king as if he had a rule over all
though he still remained silent, shrouded and tall.

IV

I was a green leaf here, a stranger among the friends
but still inquisitive as the everlasting evening tends
to stay in the Blæccyning's realm, the starless night
as I wished to acquaint myself under the moonlight
with the omin'us presence 'ere in the harrowing hall
where fire made the shadows dance on every wall.

V

I walked to the throne and sat in the queen's place,
Blæccyning has then altered the hall and its space,
as fire seems paler and the glow's no longer bright,
while the shadows seem deformed, causing a fright,
and the One I saw had black nails, pale-white arms,
cloaked in a coal-like shroud of bewitching charms.

VI

Behind a veil I saw Blæccyning's corpse-white face,
an evil grin tended to drain the world of its grace,
his eyes hidden beneath the hood, eyeing his pray,
I'm fading from this world, the world turned grey;
an enigma for the dead, I knew not why nor how,
I could only and barely ask: “What art, art thou?”

VII

The messengers and merchants made their way here
into the fertile and wide vale, all abolished of cheer.
The brave ones had entered the fearful fortification
but for what they saw there can be no preparation.
Their kinsman and the king killed, all sword-slain,
the unhearty hall o' horrors can now be their gain.
But before such a thing could be devilishly devised
they searched for the queen, and then they realised
she'd opened the massive, many-times sealed door
and stood on the elevated ground of ancient lore.
Before her was a shallow pool, five fingers deep,
at the end of an earthen terrace, a tree tried to keep
all branches still while they danced upon the wind
trying to attract all those who have not yet sinned.
The people decided to call for the maiden so fare
who simply stood silent, then caused them to stare
when she fell into the water, whelmed by the waves,
to her final fate, for in this land there are no graves.
They approached the pool, but her body was gone,
nothing could be done now at the crack of dawn.
The morning managed to light the land all hollow,
revealing ravenous ravens craving f'r men's marrow.
Mist is crawling in the high mountains in the back,
and the low clouds now roar with thunderous crack.
The threat o' the world sent them in, riches to take,
but before they snatched, someth' made them shake.
An unknown army now came to conquer and claim,
and their king called without mentioning a name.
The men went to the pool outside to see their king,
and as they saw him well and alive, now all cling
to an idea that all will be fine since he returned;
all men ran to the king as if they were summoned
and fell into the pool 'tween the castle and the tree.

I recall the day
Never the same before or after
A radiant beam struck me
I was forever incomplete

But to see
What I've become
The monster
Or the martyr
The mark's been made
So I fold the eternity within

I gazed the gaze of madness
Found a true depiction of life
But to no avail-
I was missing something again

Now I unfold eternity
And place it above my head

I feel the pressure
I feel the consequence
When the court jester
Makes his way to the throne
Takes a seat
Comfortably raise his feet
To the skies
As red as the fire
That's fueled by lies

I'll make the choice
When I feel it's time
I'll remove the fool
I'll proudly wield the tool
Of my demise
To finally complete myself
I shall become the entity I despise

And by the time it all goes black
I will have rode away
To the place where it all began
Hoplessly fill the void
With a myriad of emptiness
And see to it that the impossible is done

and the greedy leftists rub their palms
and the media listens to soccer moms
who know nothing at all about what's going down
who know nothing outside of their assembly-line towns
the outsiders all plant bait and lurk
waiting for anons to reveal their smirks
so they can descend with their condemnations
feeding into the mass media damnations
and all over what? a killer, certainly
who seems unfettered by responsibility
"i'm rubber, you're glue,
whatever hatred bounces off me, just sticks to you"
and everything plays into everyone's agenda's
humanity lost, and the mass media pretenders
continually use whatever fuel to keep people's fires burning
and leaves me feeling lost, and quietly yearning
for the whole human race to just give it up
for the fakes in mass media to shut the snow up
"hey, look at them, they're the bad guys"
"not me, certainly, read the earnestness in my eyes"
i watch, and listen, and i learn
that all of these people will never come to terms
with their own falsities, their own insecurities
and their own forever-denied responsibilities.

Even more so since we walked
Together
But I'd never...

Look me in the eye and tell me I'm fine
You know only too well when I'll die
Inside
Still, I only...

Take two and two and throw them away
I have waited too long for this day
To come
So I...

Finally give up
All hope for redemption is gone
I turn my back on this farce
And don't you even dare
Show up your face
Put salt on my wound
Time and time again
This pain is exquisite
But the price's too much to pay
Just find another person
I'm not in the position to say
Who that would be
On whom the poison will lay

But have mercy
For I'm not even a human anymore
So long my beloved torment
We'll meet again for sure

The string of my life
Toy with it
But I beg of you, don't cut

I took some time
To calm my head
And try to remember
What was the secret we had

Do you recall that scene?
It seems so long ago
You were the perfection incarnate
I was something more that I am now

I let that slip away
Don't forget
Maybe one day
I'll make amends

Stay away for now
This scar runs deep
Stay away for good
You're the secret I still keep

This one is pretty 'meh', but it's the best I can do now. I am pretty much screwed up mentally.

Who is this demon behind me?
A recognizable face
Always disappears without a trace
Fading into shadows slowly
Black eyes first
Menacing and haunting

I see a distant trail
Pebbles and gravel on the ground
My body's weak and frail
But to walk it I'm forever bound
Where it'll lead me
One can only guess

I never walk alone
Never did in the past
The demon - he's never gone
He'll be with me while this lasts
Bothered by my self-inflicted curse
Of never being able to do worse

Trip, get up, go on, time and time again
He's not there to help
He's not my close friend
He's just here to follow the poor whelp
Poke him in the spine
Treat him like some swine

But the end is nigh
And the end comes with a twist
A fiend's twisted wrist
Along with a scene where he'll die
Forgotten within the walls
Of his grim, demonic halls
