What do you think?

Say that a teleporter exists that transfers objects by atomizing them, and then re-materializing them from A to B, the teleporter however is not perfect. It does not re-materialize objects with the same atoms, but different atoms.

Do you believe that you die in the process?

Whatever answer you have, the how the brain works is by many nerve firing up, reaching a certain electrical threshold, in which an impulse may be generated. That impulse, in order to reach another nerve, has to undergo a chemical reaction.
Assuming that in the process that the time or the firing of the neurons gets modified, you personality, mind characters and so on might change, and therefore your old self dies.

People who experience NDE(Near death experiences) are affected by nerve death. Some people have laid unconsciouss for 20 or 60 mintues. After they wake up, people often say they have changed. But that change is not natural. They do have brain damage. Brain death occurs as soon as 6 minutes without oxygen but in most NDEs, people experience bradycardia or low body temperature.

The brain cannot feel pain, but it can feel pain from all over the body.  The brain cannot store oxygen. Stand up too quickly, and you may faint. This is the brain sensing the lack of blood flow/oxygen supply. The brain cannot store blood glucose /sugar. This means that diabetics who give themselves too much insulin may drop their blood sugar level and faint, and without immediate glucose infusion the brain can die.

All I am trying to say is that our brain, our mind are very fragile

I have been thinking about stuff like that many times before. If you rematerialized with new atoms I think YOU would be dead and an exact clone would be born but this clone would feel like he had lived the exact same life as you had and was simply teleported. Even if it was the same atoms I suspect that once the life has been broken, a new life technically takes its place.

The living know that they will die.

The dead know nothing.

The (living) End.

Death, to me, is a very interesting subject. My interpretation of death is when a person is no longer living(I got you there ). Anyways, death might be scary for the living, but it's a state where you can finally find eternal peace.

Not to mention, death is mandatory to continue life. If everybody was immortal, a lot of problems would arise:

- Scarcity of resources to gigantic consumption

- Infinite suffering.(Imagine you got hit by a terminal disease, you'll just keep suffering. No death.)

etc.

Funfact:

When you die, your sense of hearing is the last to go.

For me, I live day by day rather than planning. I take each day as it comes. I don't exactly have a plan more of a rough idea but not too bothered whether I reach those goals or not. If I do I do, if not then all good, my life is obviously meant to go in another direction.

I see death as inevitable, which it is. You can't stop it. You can certainly do things for your body to prolong your life but you can't ever plan a day and you never know what is going to happen. I do love life but death is something I've accepted. I mean, for me personally, I see it as foolish not to accept something that cannot be stopped. I do understand why people have a fear of it because of such an undying love for life itself but the end is inevitable which is why I'd personally prefer to live day by day.

I've not really had anybody in my life pass away apart from my mothers father but I was young at that stage and it didn't hit me. I recently went to New South Wales (I'm living in Victoria right now) to see my grandad (my fathers dad) as he is pretty close to the end. I was for weeks debating whether or not to see him. He is losing his memory, his eyesight is only shapes and shadows right now and I was warned that he might not remember who I was. That wouldn't have at all surprised me considering I haven't seen him for about 5 or so years. He's in his 90s now and pretty close and I was debating whether to see him or not. On the one hand I didn't want to see him in the state that he was. I wanted my memory of him to be of him laughing and joking and having a good time. On the other I held out the hope he'd remember me regardless of whether he could see or not and to not have that continual regret that I didn't see him before he passed, which I think he is pretty close to doing.

I didn't know how to react to someone being close to the end. It didn't hit me, though I was a bit more introverted but not a major change. It was always playing on my mind though. In the end, I did visit him and he remembered me which was great. I now know that I won't have any regrets and that I did see him, even though I should have ages ago but I just never had the time with having moved to another state and always working. It's hard to get the time off but then I suppose I should always make time for family which I did indeed do just before Christmas.

It's a funny subject, Death, and something that I have accepted. I love living, like I said, but for something that is inevitable, for me, I see no reason to be afraid of it. It'll suck knowing if I am close but it's just the way that life is, unfortunately.

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in here.

What amazes me is how many of us humans seem to think we're invincible but we can lose our life so easily, no matter if we believe that anything comes after death or not.

From where I stand, it's not a matter of fearing my own death anymore, at least it's not something that I think about with dread. However death of another, close person can be a devastating event.

There are much worse things that can happen to us personally in life, other than the end of it.

As we read in Bible death is as a effect firstborn sin and devils trick. World is ill. And full of pain. Death is like liberation. But life is a chance to fight and be a hero. God knows when is time to go to Him. So don't be affraid. Life never stops. Life there is the true life. Let's we fight and make good. :-)
