I never played the previous "Europas" for more than a few hours due to:
- the incredibly unfriendly inteface;
- the lack of adequate guidance about the... basics of the game (for someone who hasn't spent half an eternity figuring them out, it's getting tedious quickly);
- the tons of small, reeealy small messages which constantly pop up to inform you that some peasant was bitten to death by his cat and that by the way your country is at war against all of its neighbours (for no apparent reason);
- the general feeling that e few thousand things are happening around you every minute and you don't have the slightest clue what is causing them.
In other words, the game probably is (or at least it seems) very rich and interesting after you survive the first few days with it but I can't get past that point. If the above flaws are fixed at least to an extent, I might give it a try.

There's going to be a delay before I crawl into a dark cave with my computer, a large pizza, a couple 2 liters of Mountain Dew, and play this for 40 consecutive hours while ignoring any and all phones calls. I'll get around to it though.

Took me around 100 years to (peacefully!) unite japan and conquer Korea. More like 10 to conquer Korea and Ryuku and 90 to wait for all the goddamn annexations to finish. 
After that I just did not have more grand ideas for them. Especially since the AI SUCKS at war, at least in the east. My japanese foreign legion of 30 regiments could stomp through the whole of asia uncontested. The only ones leading proper armies are the catholic rebels who wield stacks inbetween 10-30 regiments.
This is kind of lame if you want to wage war as your worst enemies are some zionists out of your own country.
Also, I tried letting them hold Kyoto so they could convert Japan to catholism but it does not work. The rebels's army joins your army, you gain the province back and lose 50 prestige. But the country does not convert to catholism. A bug perhaps?

I've been eyeing this game for some time especially during the crazy steam sales. Not sure though, how good is this game really?
