Pursuing a career

As you all know, I have had lots of problems this year, not only related to school but mostly because of it.

I have still managed to finish highschool except I don't have the baccalaureate diploma.

My school years so far have been terribly disappointing, it's time to do something I might really enjoy.

So, I will study physical therapy. It seems actually interesting and it doesn't involve mathematics in any way so I'm game with the idea of having a career as a physical therapist.

The way I see it, I have nothing to lose if I try to do this, I have a lot to gain. Maybe my life will even change for the better with this new beginning.

If all goes well, I might even have the means for some of my dream like entering the modern Legionary Movement, visiting the Southern United States or learning to speak Japanese fluently.

If you have a career, what is it? If you don't have one yet, what would you want it to be?

I hate computer science, which is why I stayed away from it. I hate medicine just as much, but I have to make a living somehow.

I'm an electrochemist in the field of lithium ion batteries. When I finished high school I wanted to study robotics but at the end I ended up as chemist and I don't regret at all. Currently position PhD student.

I never learned chemistry very well, combination of lack of interest from me and weak teachers. But I respect chemists and doctors even if I don't like their field of study.

Major revival. Upon getting the BAC diploma, I realised that while I would like to help people about health, I am not "cut out for this", so I went to university, major in History. Like Sander Payne.

I am more of a history buff in general. But more than that, I take a new interest about personal growth and developing social skills.

Maybe I should change major from History to Sociology. I'll think about it.

It's a good thing you're getting it all figured out before it's too late.

I made some serious mistakes with my life (not drugs/drinking or anything but still) in regards to my own education, which caused me to not get the high school credits in the correct courses I would have needed to go into a career in science. (Many, many factors into why that was. Too long to explain here.) So as a result I was more or less forced to go into IT as it's the only thing that is remotely adequate for my skill set. Keep figuring out what you want to do/be. I'll be rooting for ya.

Yes, when you're a kid you think it's so simple to know what to do and to do it. Now, I must adapt.

And thank you.

I was an electrician. I may get back into it. Right now I work a basic 12 hour (3-4 days per week) job with a bit more than acceptable wage. Currently a machine operator in manufacturing, but I spend more than half the time on break and they still say I work to hard :L

And I am now thinking to study something else, something more practical and actually useful. I don't think there's any shame in that, after all, what would society be like if nobody knew how to build something or how machines work exactly and how to work with them ?

Or how to fix things, or how electricity works and how to work with it accordingly, etc...

Life is easier when you're fixing something - Anakin Skywalker

My education and job application is really odd to say the least. I went to electro-technical school (telecommunication department) because I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I chose that school because it was closest to my home... After that I enrolled a faculty (English language and literature) since I was interested in writing. Now, when I am finishing my studies, I'm still interested in writing, but I'm also interested in drawing again after many years (I did draw a lot in primary and secondary school). Yesterday, I applied myself for a job in a small local studio that makes HOPA games (game design position). Everything makes sense, right?

@VokialBG
I'm sorry that you got fired. What are you going to do now?
