Thank you, all.

Still, I'm not satisfied with the lighting, it's too dark and bland, additional sources (like flames and such), don't seem to cut it out right. Will have to rethink the whole light scheme and maybe fix some specular textures. The mountains still need more detail (foliage and maybe a displacement map), also need to find a good script for generating trees, there's no way in hell I'm gonna model so many

Some new "experiments" (please ignore that weird lightpost, it was there just for testing). I changed the angle as I felt there wasn't enough space on the screen for all buildings that will be there, I also played with the building positions a bit, but still I'm not satisfied with the current layout.

Very nice mate.

One thing that hits me directly is the bridge, doesn't look woody enough imo, it's too shiny!
Also texturing the house on the left (City Hall?) should help when you try to look at the big picture.

If you be so kind, can you in this case also pack source multi-layer townscreen files (don't know where you've did it - in Paint.NET PDN, GIMP or Photoshop PSD. If there are several versions of townscreen still here, it will be also good.

Yeah the building looked creepy in the first 3D but now I see it better.

Go for the 3D then I find it way better than the 2D.

I liked the building with the soft yellow glow light, I think the red lighting is making it weird. Just a thought.

I can see that viewpoint.....I love the Castle in the old version, perhaps up against the new version mountain on the left side of the pic. OR maybe a totally new town with the new one (LIKE Cathedral)

V-ray makes more realistic scenes, it's easer to manage and you can find a lot of tutorials

LW, now I realized that the MultiScater plugin goes along V-ray render and you cannot use it with Mentalray. On top of this is is not free (even though I guess you may find it for free ). Sorry!

There's a version of this town for vcmi isn't there? Does it work? was trying to install it the other day and it would crash on start up.

Anyways, I like seeing it progress. Lots of interesting creatures and a very cool townscreen design
