WoG animated trees - No flashing trees (small mod)

I didn't like how some of the otherwise nicely made animated WoG trees was flashing between frames, so I've made a small modification to 17 of the original files. The trees should be more consistent looking now, non-flashing. I think it's an improvement, but to each his own.

Before:

After:

So it's really hard to see on these low FPS, small gifs, I know, but it's quite noticeable in-game. Try ctrl and +. Notice how the original flashes (there's an increase in brightness in the mid frames). That's the effect I reduced.

Credits to the original maker(s). Team WoG? Correct me if I'm wrong, or if I need to make any other credit addition. Names, whatever.

Very good trees! You don't mind me including them in WoG 3.59, do you?
[edit] Your trees inspired me to try animating trees myself and I think mine are even better now. Not all are ready yet.

It's not my trees. I don't know who animated the trees, but they're WoG trees, as I also stated in my first post.

I simply darkened some of the frames to match the remaining frames, so they to not rise and fall in brightness. Maybe it was not worth sharing in hind-sight, other than for some others like me that just doesn't know basic PS. But whatever

Thanks for making this mini-mod an easy to manage and install mod for ERA II.

However, there's something a little wrong with it. Namely, there's two pine trees that will get messed up a bit. Pine trees 7 and 8 (looking at them in editor) uses the wrong defs now. I don't know why (a priority thing, maybe?), but I do know that the issue doesn't occur when you replace the .pac manually in the wog directory.

Another thing, I noticed that these same two pine trees that I'm talking about are actually read from 'hmm35wog.pac' which I then realized that I haven't modified. The originals need to be overridden. I've uploaded a fix for them that should be added somehow to the mod.

update (fix) for the mod

Can you please upload to wikisend.com? I also get the "your browser bla bla" while I run latest Mozilla. Also make sure you tested the mod from the link I gave in Era 60 mods. This one from Bes is messing with install, error.

Then I will look into pacs to see whats about. I thrust Bes so uploaded without test.

@Edit: better pack your modified defs (with same name as originals from wog.pac) into a *rar file then upload. I will take care about the mod.

Sure.

another mirror (wikisend)

complete package

Edit: I'd have to sort the files to remove those that isn't modified. I could take the time to do it, if it's better.

In your last upload I got only 2 defs. How many defs you modified? Can upload them all at once so I redo the package?

Ok I see where was the problem. Bes, you uploaded the old version of animated trees, from Era 2.46  there were corrected (angles).

Now I'm a little confused. Is the files that I modified actually outdated by now? I did originally modify them some time ago, in September 24, 2013.

There's a another issue now. The same pines trees will have some of their images cut off when you place them in the editor. But Bes did upload the right files, because these are the same ones that I uploaded just before. But would it help if I uploaded only the defs that was modified and not the msk, msgs? These were not touched by me and are from September last year, same as the trees.

Bes uploaded the animated trees from lod before Era 2.46. Give me a few minutes, I will fix everything starting from your last complete upload. The error you see now is that I forgot to upload the msk/msg new angles.

Maybe a little late, sorry, but here's the package with only the files that I've modified and nothing else. I thought for a smaller size and simplicity, although it would perhaps be an issue if the mod got outdated by files left out of the mod. I'm sure you know best, tho.

I didn't spot any issues now, they look good to me, Sal. I appreciate the help given. I think you share some credits for efforts, even if it's just a small mini-mod.
