split stack button mod?

Hello. I used to love HOMM3 and recently picked up the GOG version. I have the HD mod running well.

I was wondering if there was a mod that give you a button to populate all empty slots with stacks of 1 fodder. I can't remember if I had something like this before, but most Google searches I try lead to HOMM5 pages.

Speaking of which, are the newer HOMMs (4, 5, and 6) comparable to HOMM3 in terms of gameplay? I played 4 at a friend's house once MANY years ago and don't remember liking it as much. I've read that there's an aftermarket random map generator for 5, so I was thinking about looking into it.

Use shift + click on a stack multiple times. Shift, Crtl, Alt are all modifiers.

In regards to the second part of the question, Homm5 is the closest one to Homm3 when you look at the gameplay. I find it very fun and play it often. Though, I must say that Eternal Essence mod is necessary for Homm5 Tribes of the East, as it makes Ai smarter and faster.

Looks like CTRL was the modifier I was looking for, though I will make use of Shift as well. Thanks!

I'll ask about a split stack button mod too, if someone knows about it.

I play HOMM3 on a Windows 8 tablet without keyboard, and it works wonderfully, excepted for splitting stack and directionnal attack.

You can combine them as well.

Shift+Ctrl+Click = fill all empty slots with 1 unit.
