Does any developer read these boards?

Hey everyone

So much time has passed and companies have changed place.
Do you/those who run the show still check in here from time to time?

I'm wondering in reference to all the interesting suggestions...will they ever be heard?

They change of developer after each game (and in H6 case, between vanilla, patches and expansion -.-), it's hard to tell!

That's just sad man. Maybe we should expand this community to include games in the same spirit as HoMM 3 such as Kings Bounty and Age of Wonders. For two reasons; so that the community expands and grows and because of that what you said.

I basically boycot Ubisoft cause of their DRM so I haven't played any newer Heroes than 5 and that was cause my dad bought the CD.
I didn't know they changed it that often

It's a complicated case. Blackhole the original developer went bankrupt. Limbic had already played a minor role in the development and they took over patching. Then Virtuos took over the expansion because a lot of time had passed and someone had to take care of this fast, while people were still playing the game. So yeah, things got messed up after Blackhole left the building.

they could make a 2D homm with Rayman engine. everyone seems to remember only homm3 anyway.

No, a lot of people say H2 is the better game, though I have to say I personally find the graphics just that bit too cartoony. 2D would be good though, less focus on graphics, more on gameplay, although whether it would be orthogonal or isometric setup is up for debate.

I think developers still read these threads, but are under the radar...

For example, our H6 town screen rant, helped change it.

Don't they have someone dedicated to reading fan input?

Probably, but how much notice is actually taken is up for debate.

When it comes to developing a game, most companies try to do something on the taste of the public in order to have good sells...so if they prefer high quality graphics with little game, then so be it.

They can't make a profit if they listen to small groups, although they have better tastes. It's not like their the only gaming company around.

They tend not to listen too much, even when the majority of the comunity is in agreement though, as with DLC or whatever that permanent internet connection thing was.

I never thought of going back to 2D! I for one would love to see a new, 2D HoMM. I tcould really bring back the spirit of HoMM 2 & 3, whilst reviving the dying fan base that loved the old games.

Well part of the problem in general beyond ubisoft being up there with activision is that today they mostly explore the social networks and their internal forums...Which they can control or in the case of social networks generally manipulate a lil.
