So many new cards seen in the live stream. Ahh! I cannot keep up.

Can I just say that I do not believe in freeze Shaman atm

Stream was kinda underwhelming. At first they've talked around 10 min and it was sooo boring. Well the cards were interesting, but I really thought there will be more cards and A RELEASE DATE! Unfortunately this seems to indicate there will be a lot more waiting for the expansion. Seems mid-August is realistic. On the good side, next week is Death Knight weak so they will be revealing all remaining Hero Cards.

Wanted to comment on earlier reveals:

While I don't see Bolvar Fireblood as an especially good card, I wouldn't discard it just yet (which most players seem to be doing). Why? Cause I know full well the strength of DS Paladin as I play it regulary. With the addition of Tarim the deck became really strong in Wild (and I play mostly Wild), and Paladin seems to be getting more really interesting DS minions. Also the deck is quite customizable and it plays a lot of minions for DS effect. Looking at Corpsetaker, which is so easy to trigger with Paladin cards (Legendaries come to mind), it can only get better. New DS related weapon seems a bit slow, it's better to run Truesilver Champion still. Howling Commander I'm not that sure of: it seem to be for decks which will only run either Tyrion or Wickerfalme, cause I don't think you want to summon an Argent Squire with it, and thus it doesn't quite fit into a deck with lots of DS minions. At this point all things seem to suggest Paladin Hero card will give DS related hero power but it would need to be very fast (DS works better in faster decks) plus I don't quite know how it would fit the Death Knight theme...

That said I'm pretty happy I crafted that Wickerflame

Regarding some other newly revealed cards:

- Bonemare -> might be OP, especially in Arena

- Animated Berserker -> great Warrior enabler, might even be staple like Trogg was for Shaman (the similarities are probably intended). This card will shake things up.

- Fatespinner - interesting new mechanic (secretly Choose one), but because it's a Deathrattle it might be too easy to read. In hands of skilled players though it might make for some cool 'mindgames'. I wonder if it works with Fandral?

PS: Fine prize for clearing the campaign boss with all classes - Human Arthas skin

EDIT: I'm in love. More Dragons, more Dragonkin (one of my favorite creep races)! Me like!

Bolvar might suck big ass.. Because he is not impressive at all. I do believe he will be viable for 1 reason only. The Death Knight Paladin hero. I just have this feeling that it gives a minion divine shield or something annoying that makes Bolvar viable.

That said the artwork is probably my favorite so far, and not just in this set but all time! I wanna craft it in golden just because I can!

What do think about meat wagon?
I find it so interesting. Maybe not good, but a fun mechanic. And that is actually what I have found the most fun about the revealed cards. There are a lot of new mechanics or just new text. It shows that they are testing stuff.

Meat Wagon has an interesting mechanic, but it might be too hard to pull off and not worth your time (they could've at least give it better stats or Taunt). It maybe will be played in some very specific decks...

Warlock is getting some interesting cards this time around. Defile looks like a very useful card, might truly be a counter for Jade. Too bad Dreadsteed is getting a nerf becuase of it. Card wasn't played that much nowadays, but now it won't see any play I think.

Gnomish Vampire is a very unique and controversial card on the other hand. It's probably the first ever case of a direct 'discard your opponent card' effect in Hearthstone and it might be a beginning of an interesting mechanics shift in teh whole game. What's next, Graveyard effects?

What do you think of Ice Lich Jaina? Her effect seems strong and I would like to try her in my Elemental deck (with the new 1/3 Elemental) but I'm afraid she's too slow. Jaraxxus makes a bigger impact in this stage of the game.

Moorabi might make Freeze Shaman a thing, there are a lot of ways you can utilize the Freeze effect now, but on the other hand those stats might make him underwhelming and ultimately not played, same as Mistcaller.

Also, Priest got some really strong late game tool with Eternal Servitude...

The new Warlock looks wicked. I love the idea. Imagine if the death knight warlock hero power is discard the top card of your opponents deck for the cost of 2 hp Damn!

Frost Lich Jaina is great. A powerful late game card and the effect is insane. If you can combine it with a good elemental deck then it is a fantastic game changing card.

Moorabi is just another mistcaller. Sorry. I am so pessimistic about that guy. Cool effect, but too slow.

I have this feeling that priest is gonna be insane in this meta. Shadow priest inc. I hope so

What the !? I don't even...

An IGN guy who revealed the card said he clarified the effect with Team 5 and it supposedly pulls the remaining cards from your opponents deck (that might actually give it a bit more viability as it might be played more strategically).

But, you wouldn't want to fight abut fatigue against a priest with that. That's for certain.

I just... don't know what to think. I'm disappointed with the flavor, I don't see how this card fits the DK theme. Moar power? Twisted visions?

I did thought they would go with Freeze theme that they are pushing with Shaman, but maybe they didn't want to risk putting all in an archetype(?) that is an experiment at this point...

Will this card be good? It's total RNG all over again, but it's quite cheap to play on the other hand. But I just don't like this type of cards, especially as a guy who dislikes when he looses an Arena run cause a Portal summons a loosing game minion to recall just a single RNG situation.

but I guess it goes well with Hearthstones goofiness I think.

PS: What the hell is with the artwork on those DK cards. First they messed up Jaina, now they made the hulking Thrall from the 'group art' into a copy of Gul'dan... what gives?

I agree with you on most parts.

1. Why the evovle theme (again?!).
1.b. I love evovle decks to be honest. I mainly play evovle shaman at this point. It is fun, unpredicable. But I do also think it should have a limited meta because it does not fit well with my version of the Shaman fantasy.
2. Why abandon all the freeze stuff?! Too similar to Jaina / frost mage.
2.b. Why not just give him: Freeze enemy minion, deal 1 dmg. A reverse Jaina.. oh well.
3. The artwork is great.. But not Thrall. It is so similar to how they draw and animate Gul'Dan in WoW. A more buff orc. Just make him a spellcaster orc. They should have made him look smaller and more weak!

Thrall definitely will see play because of the snowbally effect if you have a board, that is gg vs certain classes. And people tend to gravitate towards fast wins. With only 5 mana it fits well into an evolve deck which already runs cards which have synergy with this. Losing a board was always tough for Evolve Shaman and same is here, but honestly the totem hero power never saved you anyways after that happened methinks.

http://www.hearthpwn.com/news/3131-hearthstone-wild-packs-have-returned-card-pack

The Legendary non-duplicates patch (or rather a server-side change) is supposedly out. People report to be really lucky with openings now. I opened my 6 Classic and 6 Un'Goro packs which I was saving. Got Lorewalker Cho and Ozruk from them (plus 4 Epics overall and a lot of golden cards) BUT Cho might've been there because my pity timer was high already. Most importantly the no-duplicate rule seems to work (at least it looks that way).

There's a lot of confusion with this change. People have no idea if the Legendary in first 10 pack rule works backwards for instance (even if you already opened 10 packs from a set before which shouldn't work, yet it does ). Blizzard should've handled this differently with an official patch note that explains this step by step, but most importantly confirms that changes are in effect (there was no info if it works on EU). Why I'm saying this? Cause I did get two Radiant Elementals in a single pack yet supposedly you shouldn't get duplicate cards in one pack now...

I actually like tge evolve theme back for shaman in the hero, now it has 2 possible archtypes over one (freeze and evolve). Dopplgangster + hero is scary .

What is his hero power kr yet to be announced?

I haven't saved any packs, but I KNOW my pity is way over due.. i have not seen a legendary in two months.. :/

This expansion has me scratching my head.

Every other card is imo horrible. The expansion seems inconsistent.. I know that they could not match the perfection Ungoro was, but this seems like a bad expansion that has a theme, but does not support the theme very well.. I think I am a little salty atm.

Well I don't want to summarize cause people who summarize too early (only half cards were shown afterall) are usually brought down, but that's the general feeling I'm getting so far, so it's the same as yours emil.

Let's face it: Team 5 are generally starting to run out of ideas. There's only so much you can think of with limited game design. Un'Goro did seem well thought out but what now? All the cool ideas were used?

I don't belive this game was meant to last this long, and now we're seeing effects of this: building upon widely unsuccesful archetypes, literally shoving them while stating that many people simply enjoy RNG (hence the new Burgle Rouge themed Legendary), but those aren't even played. Sure there are some interesting new mechanics, but I think they are simply keeping them in a 'pool' for the sole purpose of administering those in dosages. Most of the revealed cards are either a higher/lower cost variations of existing cards, others are some effects cut out from them and made into new cards. There's too many copycat cards. Well even the newest keyword 'Lifesteal' is simply an old effect made into something bigger. Sure it's understandable you can't create entirely fresh & new 135 cards each time, but so far there's only a handful of cards that appear worthwile and exciting.

I really hoped that they put more thought into this expansion, but at this point I'm concerned for the well being of this game. Instead of a new class they create hit & miss 'enchancments', some of them even borrowing Adventure mode Hero powers (Shaman DK). At this pace the game will have nothing new to offer soon.

I totally agree with you. To comment on your argument that they didn't expect this game to last this long: I keep reminding myself of their initial purpose of the game; a fun and accesible TCG.

A purpose which I think they have succeded and still succeeds at. Sadly they do not seem to have changed the goal. They just keep at the fun lighthearted stuff instead of advancing into a more complex take on the game.

But if they keep their focus on the fun and lighthearted game, then they will indeed run out of ideas.

Seen the new Valeera. She is fantastic. And too be honest she contradicts my previous statements. This is a new and exciting card. A passive hero power is ever so welcome. I know it is an iteration on previous seen mechanics, but at the hands of the rogue it looks pretty new. I am pleased

Yeah the card seem like a fresh idea, but like with every high cost card, the meta will evaluate it...

She's interesting, but at 9 mana this cards usefulness will really be tested the hard way. It buys you some time with Stealth and Armor, I just hope it won't be exploited like Ice Block, which I'm starting to see as a type of mechanic that is unhealthy for the game. Cool you can control the ability: if I understand correctly it changes into the last played card, so you can still create some combos like play a coin and then Eviscerate x2 as long as you have enough mana.

Rouge was always loosing the long game becaue it was running out of steam. With this card Control Rouge might be imminent? Add some more Lifesteal and it just might work...

Allright so I know I left here on maybe non-optimal terms when i said i was gonna do a little tournament but just never came back.

Anyways I have news that anyone that likes to play hearthstone surely would like to hear:

You all probably know that they annouced a patch that will gurantee that you open a legendary in the first 10 packs of any expansion where you've never opend a pack from before aswell as including that you can not open duplicate legendaries anymore.

This change went live today but they made a mistake basically the "guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs" is now live for all sets, from classic to ungoro.
Meaning if you have packs lying around (which you should since you should have been saving them for when the patch i am talking about hits) you should open them now.

How you should do this is the following: It is a guranteed legendary within the first 10 packs so if you have 3 packs lying around and don't open the legendary in those 3 buy 1 pack at a time until you open a legendary. In the 10th pack at the latest you should have your legendary.

The drop rate for rares and epics is also significantly increased. I have done this with several friends of mine here on EU and it has worked for all of us. In total 14 legendaries and 43 epics have been opend !!!!! It still worked 30 minutes ago but i'd go about it fast before they hotfix it.

Oh and the "no duplicate legendary" thing is working, so any legendary you open will not be a copy of an existing one (unless you for some reason own all the legendaries of the set you're opening packs from but you know if that's the case good for you)
