Technically it is indeed horrible, but considering that the victim is razakus-priest I feel it is entirely deserved.

Okay so I took what a month or a few weeks off from Hearthstone. Started playing again a week ago and it is a little bit more fun again.

What happened? Well the pause did the trick. But also coming back to such a fun brawl was great and I tried a few new decks that fit the current meta. Thankfully the meta isnt the same as the start of this expansion cycle, so really great.

Got my (probably) last Legendary from KotFT pack - Professor Putricide. Actually I'm quite happy, cause I enjoy playing Secret Hunter and he plays quite well in there...

I have 1600 dust and I wonder if I should craft Hunter DK, it is a pretty solid one afterall, or if I should start accumulating stuff for the next expansion... it's about time to do so I think.

Rumors say the expansion will be Pirate oriented as there are some hints that WoW will get a Kul Tiras/Jaina oriented expansion (Kul Tiras is an Alliance island/maritime kingdom that wasn't heard of since Cataclysm, Proudmoores originate from there). So that also means Pirates probably...

NEW EXPANSION: http://www.hearthpwn.com/news/3464-kobolds-catacombs-is-the-next-hearthstone

I think they once again managed to surprise us. People were speculating a WoW dungeon raid or Pirate themed expansion, but we're getting a tribute to Dungeon crawling and RPG's in general. So far the biggest news are the new single player mode (hope it gives more then just a cardback as reward, maybe you could complete dailies with it?) and Legendary Weapons (I wonder if the Priest one will actually be playable, seems a bit hard to pull off). Marin seems ok-ish, I'm guessing he's Prince Malchezzar tier. We're still getting a few card reveals later on...

EDIT: Some more cool stuff:
- Scratch that, Marins potential loot (3-cost cards) looks OP as hell. If played right ('breaking' the chest that is), he can give you a nice edge. Priest Shadow Word comes to mind. We'll find out as close as next Monday :]
- Spellstones (new mechanic) looks neat. The conditions aren't that hard to meet (of course you gotta have them in hand) and they're still pretty useful without upgrade.
- Priest potion that gets a random effect looks really good (each effect is wortwhile)
- Warlock gets a really interesting Legendary. Very slow and hard to pull off (you're practically loosing tempo each turn), but the final effect seems devastating. Still, Paladin DK effect never did work so this won't also, probably...

They did indeed surprice! I love the love for the dungeon crawler and RPG. Does the new expansion excite me? Naaah not really. The theme does not strike me, but well.. There are some new fun ideas..

Legendary weapons has been a wish from the community for a long time, so nice to see that coming now.

In the Q&A panel they said no rewards for Dungeon Runs aside from the cardback (though they want to learn from how players 'consume' this type of content). While my limited time with the game each day forces me to rather play for dailies then this, I think it's a good idea, the mode I mean. Unfortunately we Hearthstone players are mostly spoiled: we want 'stuff', rather then 'fun', my point being that content such as this will proably loose in interest just like Tavern Brawls which are usually played only to get that one pack and drop it...

Maybe getting, let's say, 10 or sth gold a day for finishing a run would fix this?

Aside from that they want to test some cards in Arena. Those will be avaible for a short time, Arena-only and in some cases look really good (each class gets one, which was picked in a Blizzcon panel event). I think we can expect some of the ideas used in the future...

I am now caught up; seen announcement, seen the "whats next" and the Q&A.

Arena: I love how how they are trying to reinvent this part of Hearthstone! They actually make it look a little exciting again! Some fun weird new cards and just makes arena feel unique.

Expansion: There are some ideas I like and some I just do not understand (yet). I had a hard time understanding the "lesser stones" but after the playtest I get it and it seems like a fun new idea.
This expansion looks based on the scoop and level of ideas like it could be as good as Un'Goro. I still hate the theme, but I was never in love with Un'Goro until I played it.

I love the theme, cause I'm an RPG/Tabletop games player myself. This theme has so much potential it can go anywhere (though it steps away from the WoW lore into a more general "Dungeon crawlish" theme imo).

I guess, as always, the crucial factor here are the cards themselves. I'm still trying to figure out a use for Marin the Fox (though I didn't have that much time to play him), but I'm looking for less gimmicky cards in the expansion (guess as a freebie they needed it to be kinda in the middle at most). Initially I've never looked at the card besides the chest, but you can use Marin himself to smash it (yeah I'm stupid I know, then again usually you're opponent wants to remove a 6/6 body as fast as it's played). So you don't actually need a Crazed Alchemist or sth for it to work. And there are also those Inner Fire Priest gimmicks, so you can use it as a body with a drawback of sorts for comboes.

Dungeon run seems like a fun idea, but it comes down to how well it's executed, will the challange be interesting enough and fun to repeat (even without any rewards, again, in my case it's more about time managment then "no rewards, then I'm not gonna play it" reasoning).

They should do sth with Arena balancing, I've played it a few times in recent time and it's even more unbalanced then I remember...

Dungeon runs is the best thing so far. I cannot wait to try it out.

Reveals start monday.
Saw a comment on Hearthpwn saying that revealing an expansion and then go silence for a month is a bad way to do marketing. I agree.
They could do some more of that storytelling they did with Un'Goro (whether or not you liked it.) I felt like it established a story or a feeling for the upcoming expansion.

I think they don't want people to speculate about buying the pre-order. A lot of people are prone to buying it because of hype and the "less they know the better" You can see a lot of comments like "I wish I didn't preorder" on the boards otherwise.

I assume this expansion is more like Mean Streets of Gadgetzan: a flurry of their own ideas rather then those based on lore. And we all know how this expansion went (aside from art-style and flavor, I think it was good)...

Edit: Hmm interesting http://www.hearthpwn.com/news/3862-kobolds-and-catacombs-week-1-reveal-schedule

Livestream reveals ended and we got a couple of new cards to digest, plus a revelation: Rouge is finally getting Secrets!

- Duskbreaker -> seems strong (and looks cool). Some say it's OP and I say it's still conditional, but nevertheless I look forward to it. It seems like a perfect anti-aggro card, it's in this sweetspot when aggro starts to overwhelm you and Holy Nova won't save you (too late and not enough dmg). This will. Plus Dragon Priest is my favourite archetype, which is not that strong nowadays. This and Dragon Soul might bring it back
- Kathrena Winterwisp -> I think she's really solid. Slow, yes, and might still Recruit you that Alleycat, but she appears as a no-brainer turn 8 play (Hunter lacks cards in this segment)
- Branching Paths -> such a cool all-round card. Will be staple in most Druid decks
- The Runespear -> I just can't get around this weapon. I really dislike RNG target spells. And that horrendous cost. Sure it is 'Discover', but what if available choices will backfire and heal your enemy/boardclear your side?
- Level Up! -> I'm afraid of this card. Effect could be devastating, I mean Taunts!? Yes it does have high cost, but there are many cheap Silverhand Recruit flood cards...

Nevertheless the reveals show that this expansion really does have something going for it, the flavor is simply oozing out (pun intended). Art style is really neat too. So many good Epics already. I have a feeling this will be a good expansion, maybe even Un'Goro tier

Let's look at it.

Duskbreaker - Just a good card really. Fits into the dragonpriest archetype and it is not IMBA, but it is strong. (Cool art too!)
Secrets for Rogues - meeeh.. Cheat death is good as seen with getaway kodo.
The Runespear - What the.. ? They are really coming down hard on Shaman lately. Freeze synergy and now this ... rough.
Level Up! - I must disagree with you on how powerful this card is. I do like it though because I have played the SilverHand buff paladin, but look at it. 5 mana for +2+2 + taunt. You really need a good board in order to utilize this in a good way. The nail in the coffin for me is Sunkeep Tarim play him instead. 1 more mana, you get a body on the board and a way to clear the opponents board. Lvl up is not gonna be that powerful again.
Kathrena - What a fun new card for hunter. A legendary with potential. I like it. Could we see a big-hunter now? And you got King Krush, Blob, cannot wait to see you try that combo out.

I am still skeptic and will not say this is Un'Goro lvl yet! The artwork though is looking pretty fun and good atm.

Now this is a funny card. Value aside, it gives Golden cards to everybody. Way to troll people who collect them

Druid Weapon on the other hand I don't know... seems interesting and almost as if a anti-Weapon removal counter, but will the card really work I wonder...

Also it's cool that Hearthpwn made this "Todays reveals" section which shows timers to the nearest card reveals

Yay new cards

Ok so Zola is interesting. It costs 1 more than Youtful Brewmaster but is better because it doesn't bounce the minion but copies it. Priest could use it
-Rummaging Cobold could be strong with Legendary Weapons, I like it.
-I so fear Twig of the World Tree being another UI. Luckily it is a legendary, but having a 20 mana turn is gonna be insane. Thank the Old Gods it take so long time to set up
-Duskbreaker is MVP. It is just so good!!! I think haha

Ok too many new cards to comment, but yeah, I like the Spellstones most. Cool idea, hope it works. I knew there was gonna be Legendary Weapons haha, I KNEW IT!

My favorite so far has arrived: Grumble, Worldshaker.

I just like the art, the name, the stats.

But the battlecry is the special thing - a good one? not sure, but I really just like the whole idea about this card.

A few new reveals lately, one if which takes the whole cake – Grumble.

I mean sometimes you really can’t stop to think how Team 5’s balancing department actually works. Not only this card has an effect that can be utilized in so many ways (each Battlecry effect from a minion can be replayed for (1)), it’s an Elemental (so all Elementals are activated in next turn), a ‘soft heal’ casue it returns your minions, but to add to the whole picture it’s a 6 mana 7/7. Just wow. And it doesn't need a bug setup. Returning a single Fire Elemental or Blazecaller is already nice (or Keleseth?). How does this even compare to Moorabi, a card which was supposed to open up a whole new archetype, but was mostly unplayable thanks to its horrendous stats vs mana cost.

Then we have the Priest Dragon Legendary, which is truly unique. You might think it’s suicide to give two turns in a row for opponent when fighting against aggro, but this can be craftily utilized. I think a play with this card will be really hard to pull off, but when it does OTK decks might’ve just gotten a new tool. I think the cards was meant to be played with Dragon Soul maybe?

I also like the DS 2/4 Taunt. Tar Creeper was a hit, and this might actually be even better.

PS: King Togwaggle is a strictly meme card. I think it's a card Team 5 made just for laughs and friendly matches. I don't see it being played in competetive play (though we must remember Yogg)

Blob you said it more or less: Team 5 works in mysterious ways. What is up with them butchering Shaman in Frozen and then given something like Grumble - A great statted minion with a more or less unique effect.

The priest dragon is for now a meme card, but when the set is fully revealed we might see the tools to make a great OTK deck with it. But that said I do think dragonpriest will return to its grandeur.

That King Kobold is hilarious. Reminds me of Noggerfogger. Useless, but fun.

Seen the video about dungeon runs. I do not like that designer (might just be his poorly, unfunny script); but what he said about the dungeon runs really made me feel hyped! Seems like a lot of hours can be spend doing these runs. To be honest that is what I am looking forward to the most.

The kobold king can be some sort of win condition....Very hard though.

Defensive druid with loads of card draw and cheap removal, then when deck is emty naturlise enemy to fill his hand, play king, gain deck without him able to get it back
