This is partly because Warrior came back to the meta as the only counter for Rouge. If we will see less Rouge Elysiana might see less play, so the nerf is questionable to say the least. But the devs explanation does make sense, maybe it's best to stay on the safe side and reduce her "infinate" value...

Btw Guys, should I craft Elysiana to get bonus dust due to refund? I can't remember how it works: do we get the card for "free" if we craft her now (like with Hall of Fame cards) or does it only refund once you dust her?

No, they nerfed her because I just got it as one of my few legendaries this expansion.

But this is lucky for you, because now after the nerf you can disenchant it for 1600 dust. Which means you can trade Elysiana into any other Legendary you want.

@blob. I don't think it works, as you get no bonus dust as it doesn't move to Hall of Fame.

Yeah, no deal then I can only craft her and play her until tomorrow to see if I like the card, dust afterwards. A demo run you might say.

Oh! I had no idea it worked that way. Then I guess it's a very good scenario for me. So should I craft Rafaam like I intended for a while now? Or just go for Whizbang/Zayle like Geny would suggest?

Need more cards though, I think that's my main issue at the moment. Crafting classic cards seem to be a given.

If that's still a problem for you, definitely craft Whizbang (not sure how good Zayle is in the long run).
If not... I'd still suggest getting Whizbang, because he changes with every expansion so he won't be obsolete until he rotates out next year.
Still, Rafaam is both a good and fun card so he's not a bad choice either.

P.S. I really want Whizbang to be the first card that is moved to the Classic set.

It depends do you prefer to play one deck, or several different ones. If you love Warlock and imagine yourself playing it for a month or two, then absolutely go for Rafaam, he is quite strong. Negative point is that Warlock as a whole is considered to be one of the weakest classes at the moment.

Whizbang/Zayle will let you play with a bigger collection than what you have, but I have not tried either one myself. For a starting Legendary, I think they might work wonderfully.

Exactly what I would have written. Rafaam is cool but it's hard to find a good spot for him. He is played in Zoo as last ditch effort if the usual "rush down" tactic of this deck didn't finish your opponent to this point, or in Control Warlock.

Whizbang seem like an ideal card for someone with a small collection of cards, but because I don't have him I can't tell if he is really that fun.

EDIT: Holy crab! Blizzard will be actually buffing cards!

https://www.hearthpwn.com/news/6727-more-hearthstone-changes-18-card-buffs-yes-buffs

Is this an out of season April Fool's joke? Now I've seen everything...

I assume the buffs are supposed to enchance cards that have seen little play to make them more popular. But imo some choices are questionable as the cards were actually pretty strong already:

Extra Arms - the fact it's twinspell already made it quite strong. And it's cheaper now.
Thunderhead - it's one of the most OP Elementals in game, as it can snowball incredibly, and now it's even harder to remove (Health up to 6). It isn't played cus we don't see many Elemental Shaman decks.
Security Rover and Beryllium Nullifier - I play both in my Mech decks and those are pretty decent already

PS: Yay, Moriggan is cheaper (6 mana, down from 8). Still snow, but she might actually see play in Darkest Hour deck as it's full of big minions.

I love the fact that they are also buffing Legends. Please, give a chance to some older cards like Madame Goya or Hogger! I really hope it's not a one time affair to promote mechs, as we are getting a free Legendary also.

You know what this means? Getting a "bad" Legendary now does not necesarilly mean it won't be buffed in teh future, so betetr to keep it lol

PS 2: Lol, people already created a scary Priest OTK on turn 5 combo with the new free Legendary:
Reckless Experimenter
Coppertail Imposter
SN1P-SN4P

Coppertail Imposter lives till next turn. By using Experimenter you create infinite copies of SN1P for 0 mana and stick them to the squirrel. Also, you can tutor SN1P-SN4P with Dead Ringer.

Wow, first time in 4 years they are buffing tons of cards! This is exciting, will be cool to actually try these cards that were never played. What I wish though that they didn't buff existing strong decks. Case in point - Mech Deathrattle Hunter. It is already played on ladder, and now it gets Necromechanic. The card can win you games if not removed because it greates tons of value, and now it is 3/6. Also the new Legendary Sn1P-Sn4P is a great mech. And lol for the OTK on turn 5, haha, it will be fixed soon I am sure

Also the Warrior Mechs didn't need a buff - because of the Dr. Boom herocard. But everything else is pretty awesome. Spirit Bomb buffs the weak Warlock, and Extra Arms the weak Priest. Unexpected Results can now be discovered from the Magic Trick which is fun. With Khadgar  it can be great.

I wish this is a new trend! And we will see more buffs in the future.

Definately. We will need to see if these subtle changes do any good for the buffed cards, but I think at least in some cases you might actually consider playing them now. And any buff for cards that aren't played at all is a step in the right direction.

Let's take Dr. Morrigan buff. Until I experiment with her I can't tell if the buff made her that much better, but I already have an idea to try her in a greedy Demonlock deck (Darkest Hour Warlock is based on cheating out big minions). Playing her on turn 6 makes more sense to try and cheat out a Voidlord or Malganis then on turn 8 (Plus 5/5 is still a decent play on turn 6).

I know that Blizzard prefers to focus on new cards, but there is no hurt in buffing a few older cards here and there. Usually it's a matter of changing just one value to make a card more impactful. I am looking forward to more changes...

Apparently Blizzard spotted the talk about this online and decided to nerf Reckless Experimenter along with the buff patch. It will reduce the mana cost to a minimum of (1).

Edit: On a different subject, I don't really follow the Grandmasters, but I saw that Silvername and Thijs are playing and since they're both stars of the Hearthstone Daily Funny Moments, I decided to take a peek. I came just in time to see Thijs playing miracle mage and getting a Spirit of the Frog from Conjurers Calling. If you haven't seen it, look it up. That was just not fair. At all.

Yea, you piqued my interest and I went and watched the video. It was nuts, casters were saying there couldn't have been a better outcome. So glad Thijs got through, the guy is so likeable.

BoarControl destroyed with his mage too. Game 2 was great. Mage seems to be uncontested, probably the best deck right now. The pro players seem to agree with me.

Yeah, so I heard. Good. My heart would stop if Priest became tier 1 again

So Blizzard steps up their game, buffs cards, nerfs them more frequently, yet many people ractions on forums are like "Hurr Durr small indie company does not control what they release". Sigh.

No wonder they sometimes ignore this rubble.

HearthPwn closing on June 28th 2019

This is, very sad...

I don't play Hearthstone that much nowadays, but check the site regularly. The UI is familiar, their coverings of card/expansion reveals were the best. I checked a few sites over the years, but I don't see a reasonable alternative.

Sad indeed.

I seriously don't know how does it work, but there's something called Fireside Home.
