I think I will just comment on Galvadon.

6 spells is hard to pull off! We might still see a spell or two for paladin that buffs, but so far it is looking like we must go old school with blessing of kings and such. Tough quest, but insane reward. That is a massive beast.

New druid card released as well.. Adapt your minions.. imo a fairly good card comboed with savage roar it is a great card. I cannot wait to see where they are taking druid this time around.

EDIT:

Tortollan Primalist: I was looking forward to this card. I loved the artwork from the first trailer. Then we get this.. I had my hopes up for a shaman card that casted lightning or something. Damn I am so sad. This is too overpriced to work.
Spikeridged Steed: A new paladin card that works with the quest. I would compare this to Priest Velen's Choosen from GvG. This is priced fairly and has a pretty solid buff. It might work in midrange or a more controllish paladin.
Cornered sentry: 2/6 taunt for only 3 is pretty great. The draw back - Three 1/1 for your opponent. I personally think that the draw is too big to be good. We will see.

cornered sentry is only 2 mana, so on turn 3 with whirlwind you have a 2/5 taunt (best taunt option possible while wiping out a low cost minion of aggr 2 likely) or you drop it with a ghoul or frothing berserker on turn 5....this card is borderline broken i'd say

We'll have to see. It depends on the decks it will be used in. I think it's not good for Taunt Warrior cause this deck does not use Whirlwind. Whirlwind is most commonly used as an activator, and you don't need activators in Taunt decks aside from for some finishers like Grom (and that can be covered with other cards). Or maybe that new Warrior Epic spell?

Maybe some kind of OTK or Enrage Warrior decks will make a comeback? Sentry would work nice with Frothing + Whirlwind for instance.

I'm personally not a fan of cards that give your opponent sth in return. I used a few over the past months like Hungry Dragon or Camel and usually they've gave me more problems then benefits. The drawbacks there to get them out sooner, but ususally you still need to play sth in tandem to reduce their eventual backfire. That means you still need to pay more mana, as such play them later, and that basically misses the point. Now I know some have different purposes, like Dirty Rat which fishes out Reno etc, but let's face it, more often you need to play them asap to stop aggro.

In case of Sentry you're more in control this time around cause you know exactly what your opponent will get but I rather play dependable cards then risk-reward ones. I think Tar Creeper will work better. I also think Ornery Direhorn is one of those solid cards. Btw I wonder if 'Taunt' will be excluded from its Adapt picks?

Let's us just be clear: We are all hyped!

I cannot wait. I have been watching review-videos of cards, looking artist who did the artwork, I have been visiting Hearthpwn forums for insights, I play way more HS than just a few weeks ago.

I cannot wait! 2600g ready to be spend.

Yeah, we are!

I wanted something to get my gears turning and I think Blizzard actually delivered. This expansion looks really cool and it rekindled my interest in the game (at least for now).

I'm repeating myself, but I think most of us are hoping the meta will deliver. Well I suppose that for at least two weeks things will be interesting. I just hope people won't use this chaos to push cancer decks too much, cause experimental decks will be easy prey for those who like to ruin other peoples fun

I also wish you all some good pack openings so we can enjoy the expansion from the start, but looking at the content I think that we're actually in for some really nice expieriences ahead of us, cause imo it's hard to find really bad cards this time around.

To pass time while waiting guys let's have some fun and try to point out 5 cards you think will the most impactful in the expansion and why Here are mine:

1. Kalimos -> imo a definition of an impactful (but not OP?) well rounded legendary. Super versatile, solid stats, immidiate effect and I don't think his popularity will be even dependent on the success of Elemental decks at all. You can simply run a single Fire Fly to spam a token to trigger him later.
2. Spiritsinger Umbra -> incredible amount of synergies and quite cheap to play. Suddenly even a Lepper Gnome becomes a bigger threat. To say it will be a staple in Deathrattle decks is an understatement. But she might be run in other decks as well.
3. Fire Plumes Heart -> might uplift Taunt decks to higher tiers. Well they might still not be as popular, but in my case this card is a must. I'm holding to my Taunt deck, I will rebuild it from the ground up probably, and this little Quest adds another win condition that Taunt decks have always lacked. Now I'm getting another tool aside from Grom that will help me push for the win. It might be too RNG dependend, but with some workarounds (reducing the number of potential targets for "Die, Insect!") it might just do the trick.
4. Tar Creeper -> maybe I'm overpricing this card but a Senjin for 3 mana might restrain aggro a bit. And it's an Elemental so it works nicely on curve.
5. Earthen Scales -> a strange pick I know. But the card is ridiciolous. It's a cheap buff, but it's second effect is what's scaring me. It's not even hard to pull off a 5 Atk minion in druid, so that makes a '6 HP heal' for 1 mana. This card will have a great impact. It's downside might be that it will push Jade decks even further, cause beating a Jade Druid fast enough is the only weapon against him in Control match-ups.

Good pack openings to all of you!

Hypehypehype

Edit: ok my 5 most impactful cards are.

1. Kalimos. Any big minion with flame strike attached to it is just insane. Oh yeah and you can do other things too
2. Rockpool Hunter. The card I fear the most. For 2 mana you can get 3/4 stats... these are the power cards that snowball so fast out of control that I am terrified of this card.
3.Crackling Razormaw. A turn 2 play that is so snowbally if it works. Imagine a turn 1 2/1 that you can't remove with 1 mana yourself. Then turn 2 you give it +3 attack, and you have a 5/1 minion on turn 2 in addition to a 3/2. It is insane damage, faster than pirates.
4. Spiritsinger Umba. It has Fandral written all over it lol. Nuff said.
5. Servant of Kalimos. A simple card but you can compare it as being a mix of Azure Drake and Drakonid Operative. A very very influential card that is.

Spiritsinger Umbra - As you say this is deathrattle Fandral. She is able to fit into everything that is about deathrattle. Imo she is one of those legendaries that will live on forever.
Clutchmother Zavas - I believe she might be the key to a more succesful and powerful discard lock. Watch out for the new cancer.
Tol'vir Stoneshaper - 4 mana 3/5 that can have taunt and divine shield if played on curve. That is true power!
Earthern Scales - I do not play that much druid, but I believe this is a great card. All the reviews I have seen says this might give druid that little thing, they need.

The last one on my list you ask?
Jeweled Macaw - The new Webspinner from Naxx. The beast that gives a beast. This is the new hunter 1 drop that will be in all decks. This will be the worst and best card ever. 1 game you get a boar, next time you highmane. This could be a cancer card, but it could also be the savior of hunter.

By the way I do not think that fire plume's heart will be that great. But we'll see. I get that they want to taunt it up, but are the taunts good enough? Is that arch-type good enough?

EDIT: A runner up on my 5 list: Elise. She is going to be so fun.

Oh and not to rub it in, but Therazane never appeared..

since we are making lists:

Spiritsinger umbra: like it was already said, easy to combo for insane effects, this card will be in every deck that uses deathrattle effects.

Edit: I replaced stampede in the top 5 with devilsaur egg....it's nerubian egg all over again, maybe it will see less play in warlocks as nerubian egg did, but how about hunter? (trigger deathrattle effect) how about with spiritsinger umbra? and priest....Plenty of scary possibilities. people will remove most of your deathrattles right away so you can't benefit too much from them, but nobody wants to destroy this on turn 3 and face a 5/5 next turn

gluttenous ooze: the bane of every pirate warrior/aggro shaman. if you manage to destroy a buffed waraxe you basicly win, it's even good if controll warrior makes it march to destroy gorehowl. This is one of the most meta shifting tech cards I think, especially because you can add ooze as well for even more destruction.

Vilespine slayer: plenty of cheap combo enablers this expansion, it's assasanite with a 3/4 minion, woah!

Lakiri felhound: silnce it's beneficial for your discard quest you don't mind discarding, a huge 3/8 taunt for 4 mana is disgusting

Honorable mention:
Stampede: one sick card generator for one mana (which hunter needed), especially if you consider all the ways to add cheap beasts to your hand like to'vir warden or the queen carnassa quest

Honorable mention to non ungoro cards: I think Defias cleaner and other silence effects will see a lot of play because a lot of effects are harmed by silence this expansion (like adept, deathrattle, the tar taunts).

I don't think the ellementals (and kalimos) are that fantastic because people will see it coming and can easily play around the effects. On the other hand, if you curve out perfectly theres not much that seems to be able to stop you

question: fwith the card Free from Amber (discover an 8 or more cost minion and summon it). does that mean the BC will not trigger?

The battlecry won't trigger when you summon a minion from Free from Amber. I also got excited at first but you basically get only stats unless you get Ysera or Y'shaarj. It could be possibly usable with Medivh, the Guardian though Greed is real.

I think we are all making good guesses. As can be seen Umbra is mentioned by everyone which is not surprising. I of course wanted to add more cards as 'honorable mentions' but didn't want to overextend. Guess I'll need to, cause there are other likely strong cards I want to highlight:

- Cruel Dinomancer -> his effect is a Deathrattle which makes him a bit less impactful then I initially thought, but I think this card might still be huge. If it manages to resurrect that RNG discarded Doomguard, Discolock will reign supreme.

- Shellshifter -> this little turtle is not so widely discussed alas as with all 'choose one' cards it's very flexible (and has cool art even for Fandral version). Plus it's offensive form works with the Druid Quest, which takes me to:

- Jungle Giants -> might be too slow plus I don't exactly think it will work out with how ramp Druid is played but who knows. For instance Aviana deck is based on similar mechanic, but is not that popular plus it's based on combos rather than playing big minions. But if this actually clicks it will be huge. Literally.

- Envenom Weapon -> could be big. Cancer even. Such a cheap and easy to play removal for Rouge, you will always have the second piece of the combo via your Hero power. The only issue is one of Rouges biggest problems: lack of healing. But if Rouge will be fast enough there will be no stopping her. She will remove all your Taunts.

- Open the Waygate -> might be hard to pull off (D Toast presentation shows otherwise, but still), though the Arcane Giant combo looks ‘disgusting’ .

- Dinomancy - I have a feeling this might be really good in Beast decks. This along with Mackaw and Stampede will make a new standard for this archetype.

I also would like to comment on your picks and thoughts guys:

- Fire Plumes Heart -> like I said, I'm evaluating this card based on my experiences. Taunt Warrior really needs this imo. But I agree it might not be top-tier, it depends on how well T Warrior will fare overall.

- Gluttonous Ooze -> yeah this one is really good but we'll have to see if weapon decks will still work in Un'goro. Pirate Warrior might actually die on its own. With so many Taunts Pirate might not be viable anymore.

- Stampede -> might actually be pretty good. It's 1 mana so it's cheap as hell. Play two Beast and you already have value. Especially in a class that has problems with draw (it's not exactly draw, but saves you from an empty hand).

- Primodial Glyph -> You guys remember Unstable Portal? Nuff said...

- Arcanologist -> I wonder why nobody is mentioning her. She will work wonders in Secret decks.

- Radiant Elemental -> high AoE cost is the one thing that keeps Priest from being cancer. This might change it, although it's easy to remove.

- Fire Plume Harbringer -> because the effect is a Battlecry, this might be serious. It gives Elemental decks even more tempo, and 'tunes up' minions like Servant of Kalimos nicely. Only downside are the stats, but it's an investment, and you will start snowballing from this point onward

Other Discardlock Tools like Zavas or Lakari also look strong.

@markmasters Defias Cleaner popular? You're not the first person I'm hearing this from. And that's good, I got him in a pack and maybe I will be finally able to use him

Elementals aside I really think Kalimos will be great. So what you know he's coming? Although it's not on Dr. Booms level it's a simliar case I think. Everybody expected boom on turn 7? So what? He was still OP.

And sorry but I just can't stop writing

Dr. Boom was more cancer because EVERY deck used him. I don't mind a slightly OP card when it is in a Elemental Deck only. Look at Kazakus, it is OP as hell, but in order to play it you need to build a deck around it. That is not cancer to me at least. (but I remain the option to revoke this opinion about Kalimos if by some miracle Elemental Deck becomes new Pirate Warrior, and I will unleash all hell on it xD)

@Minion

Yeah I agree that Kalimos is not on Boom level, but at the same time he's more verstaile and less RNG. There are instances when Boom Bots RNG doesn't exactly work in your favor.

Kalimos on the other hand gives you just the effect you need atm. I suppose AoE and Heal picks will be the most popular. And like I said you don't exactly need an Elemental deck for him. I am almost certain we will see him outside Elemental decks even more then in them (assuming those will be played). There are some good Elemental minions that I think will be used commonly. Fire Fly is a nice 1-drop or that 3-drop Elemental which spams two Elemental tokens. At worse you can play Kalimos after Ragnaros in Wild.

But those are my thoughts, we're gonna see him in action soon enough

@emilsn

While I respect Trump, he's not exactly that good in rating cards pre-release. Usually it's more of his wishful thinking.

I've looked at both kripp and trump and I think they are both mistaken......probably I am mistaken myself.

Trump undervaluates adapt as he rates it as 0.5 mana approximately. adapt is so much better then that, it is so flexible that it can create a saving situation, setup as a finisher or make a tagret basicly unremovable making it viable against a whole lot of decks (vs aggro you can get taunts, vs stall-mage you can get untargetable, with tokens you can use poisonous....) It wouldn't be the first time trump is wrong about this kinda thing (he rated Boom bad and when darkshire councilman was king in zoolock he said it would be unplayable ).

As for kripp, he evaluates a tentacle with taunt (2/4) as a top 5 card? given, it heals for 3 and is an elemental, but I think our top 5 lists made more sense. and while I think mage can be dangerous with their second turn I don't think it's easy to setup. Kripp is right, getting the 6 spells is not that hard, but the spells have to be playable themselves and you basicly need to use 2 cards for one 'tick of the box' all the time, so comared to other classes you need to play 12 cards (suddenly SUMMON 10 murlocs sounds very easy).

I think everyone is gonna be surprised how good priest is actualy gonna be. a 2/3 that reduces spells cost by one is huge....with PW shield you can get a 2/5 on turn 2, against aggro you play a 2/3 and use potion of madness to get rid of something (hello hunter raptor, thank you for the 4/3 for 1 mana shuffled into my deck). time for circle of healing + auchenai soulpriest for early game removal again I guess.

And today I had an interesting situation in the arena, I'm curious what you would have done.

I was playing warlock and on a 6-0 streak. I'm against a rogue and he was on 14 HP and i was on 3.

his board: a a stormwind champion, a kraken and a bear (3/3 taunt)

My board: corrupted healbot (6/6), a 5/4 (forgot the name), and in my hands: twisting nether, hellfire, spiked hogrider and armored warhorse.

I'm at 10 mana

SO many options possible....In the end I went for the tie, played hogrider, killed the bear, went face and killed us both with hellfire.

I could have summoned warhorse and pray for the battlecry, but lose if it would have failed, win if it succeeded. (i still had a 7 mana and a 6 mana minion in in my deck while opponent played a 9 mana and a 7 mana minion already).

I could have tried to topdeck PO or shadowbolt by lifetapping.

I could have killed the bear, went face and use twisting nether (not a very good option I think, but my opponent had no cards and his hero power was summon a totem, thanks to renounce darkness he burgled)

So....what you guys would have done?

The only thing that we're probably missing in our cards evaluations is probably the fact that once again there will some cancer 1- or 2-drops which will dominate the meta. Maybe that Glacial Shard even? Or that 2/1 raptor.

Watching Trump made me realize that 'Swarm" Hunter might really be cancer. Things like drawing that 4/3 Raptor token with Tolvir, or Stampede to refill your hand etc. And so what they will remove your 1-drop Raptors with AoE? You can rebuild the board in a matter of one turn. You have 'ammo' for two whole boards.

And regarding that Arena match @Markmasters. If your opponent truly didn't have anything on hand I would probably go for Twisting Nether. Back when I still played Arena I really liked TN cause it was one of the better cards to have.  The point was that you had control over when to cast it, and opponent just couldn't be fully prepared for it (he could only assume it).

In your match opponent had better board and would be left with nothing after you casting it, and you had Warhorse which even without charge would make a dangerous presence. If you were at 6-0 you could've risked hoping he wouldn't topdeck sth with charge. Of course it's easy to anylyze out of the game. I stopped playing Arena because I couldn't stand the fact that I've lost so many matches not only because of bad plays but also topdecks or 'constructed' decks, which isn't predictable...

Yeah i was hesitating to cast twisted nether but my corrupted healbot would heal opponent for 8, meaning i would need at least another turn to be able to kill him....was a very interesting choice

OK, Un'goro is live. Got 3640 dust from Hall of Fame which is nice.

I've opened 27 packs and... I'm actually quite satisfied. Althougth there were quite a few doubles (more then I would pressume) I actually managed to snatch the most stuff from the Rare and Common pool I wanted.

I also statistically got quite a few Epics: 6 which is a good result imo. Most notable are Gluttonous Ooze and Primafil Champion I think.

My one and only Legendary was Mages Open the Waygates which was... golden

EDIT: I've gone completely wild and crafted: Kalimos, Umbra, Marsh Queen and Fire Plumes Heart. Also Stone Sentinel and Blazecaller

I had 38 packs. I got one legendary Nesingway.. So not so satisfied. I think I have enough cards to do a decent hunter atm or maybe a jade-elemental shaman.

EDIT: I am gonna craft Marsh queen now and try to do a hunter deck.

Without having played a single game: I predict shaman and hunter meta. I cannot wait to see if I am right in 4 months

Nvm .. Rogue.. rogue is the new cancer.. caverns below screw me..
