I think that it's not possible to predict how the meta will change. Control players loose a lot, and we don't know what the new expansion will bring for them. An idea comes to mind that they would probably have to make very similair cards that will fill the void, but that's missing the point. I want new cards, not old ones in new clothes...

My biggest worry comes with the "Wild" format. If it will not be what I expect it to be: a fun "place" for crazy and non-standard decks, but rather a net-decking wildland (cause, you know, ez gold with Secret Paladin etc) I will probably loose my interest in Hearthstone. Because what is the point of collecting cards if there's only a handful of them that can be used...

Exactly! There is no need to remove cards just to make another copy of it. That is not changing anything and it is a wrong way to develope the game.

I want them to keep on making great and interesting cards that can shake up the meta and the game over all.

I've had a nice read about the views on the new features coming to Hearthstone in one of the threads on hearthpwn.com.

http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/106197-blizzard-does-itself-a-disservice-by-removing-an?page=3

Read the post made by @Human_Guy (first post at begining of the page) and @Allusivetable (last post on the same page, or you can read his post as a whole cause he basically quotes entire @Human_Guy's post). You can see those are very opposite opinions and I think they've accurately (though @Human_Guy seems a bit too aggresive) pointed out pros and cons of the coming changes and made me think a lot. Basically, I want this changes to be a good thing, but I see some underlaying elements that might sink Hearthstone...

I have a couple questions I would be interested in hearing your collective take on.

First off, for reference, I have only been playing about 3 months. I have spent no money on the game. I have the League of Explorers and the first two wings of Naxx (which I bought the week before the latest news). I have two Legendaries, Sylvanas (got her from the free weekly brawl pack a few days ago), and...... Mogor the Ogre.

Now if you were in my shoes would you buy Classic, TGT, Blackrock or get as many GVG packs you can while they are still available?

And second, just out of curiosity, can any of you think of a use for Mogor? As far as I can tell he is....... interestingly useless.

Unforunately I already have quite a big collection so I won't loose that much with the absence of GvG packs, and thus I might not exactly be helpful here.

But to tell you the truth it's hard for me tell cause I have similiar doubts. Buying GvG packs now is probably pointless. I wanted to craft Vol'jin for instance, but guess I'll have to wait for the next expansion to see what's worth crafting. If you want to play in Wild GvG has some really cool cards though. I want to play Wild, but it might turn out badly and unplayable I'm afraid...

I'm buying TGT packs for now, cause I want to at least complete my Rare collection (and it makes me furious cause I already unpacked like 5 Totemcarvers, yet not even one Healing Wave for intance), but I already started saving dust for the next exp.

If you want to play Standard buy Blackrock Mountain cause some cards will probably be used in the meta. At least the first Wing with Thaurissan. Plus adventures are always fun and good for learning some mechanics if your not that long in the game.

And about Mogor. I also have him, yet I don't find any uses for him atm. I'm keeping him cause I remember having a lot of fun with a deck crafted around him, and I don't dust cards which gave me some fun (even if they're ultimately useless). I was using a Warrior deck, if I remember correctly a variant of Charge Worgen deck (you can check some Hearthstone sites for reference). An old forgotten card, Amani Berserker, might also find its use here. Or maybe a variant of Taunt Warrior? But keep in mind that it is undoubtly not competetive, because competetive Hearthstone is all about reducing RNG to minimum. Nevertheless Warrior and Control is the way to go...

Yeah, I know that Thaurissan is a pretty good card but I have seen him used against me so much I have begun to resent his smug face. Unfortunately I consider my self a bit of a collector, so grabbing the GVG cards while you can seems like the smart thing to do, I just dread putting off my acquisition of some actually viable cards that much longer.

As for Mogor that actually sounds quite amusing. You could even use cards such as Ancient Watcher, Erie Statue, Nerubian egg, etc... Might be fun to try.

I asked a similar question on Hearthpwn's forums and the answer was wait and see what the next expansion brings. If you are playing standard you do not need the GvG or Naxx.

But if you are playing wild maybe crafting the most needed would be good, but buying packs might be a overkill.

I would suggest you get all of BrM - Great adventure and really some great versatile cards. After that I would just buy Tournament packs and new expansion cards.

Sounds good, I was never clear on standard cards vs TGT. I don't really want to find and use a prebuilt deck but I am not experienced enough with the game yet. Does not help that I avoid standard games like the plague and try and do all of my dailies in the tavern Brawl, at least there RNJesus can favor me.

And I was unclear whether Blackrock had anything really good in it that was not made for a Dragon deck, aside from Thaurissian that is.

Well, BRM gives not only Thaurissan, but also Flamewaker, Imp Gang Boss and Grim Patron which are all very popular cards...

Damn this must be a glitch or something, I got another Anub'arak in a pack (he even occupies the same space )... same happened to me with Dreadscale, I've got another one not long after the first one...

Yeah, but it seems like 3,500 gold is a pretty steep price to pay for them.

It might be... depends on how you look at it. BRM gave me one of my all time favourite decks: Dragon Paladin. Plus you're getting a one of a kind expierience in the form of boss battles plus guaranteed cards. I think LoE did it better with four wings and 2800 gold though. They should keep it this way...

Oh, I am definitely going to get it at some point. The question is which one would give you more bang for your buck early on. And I know that it is a fairly impossible question considering the whims of fate. I am just talking out loud, so to speak.

I would honestly rather receive advice, be it good or bad, from people I know of than from random people (even if Trump himself were to be the adviser).

Also I am not really that worried about it, I just wanted to hear what your takes on it were.

So I've heard...

I'm getting more and more anxious about the comming features...

Two big expansions per year? It's hard to complete collections, even when grinding for packs like me... and now there will be more to collect. Casuals will have it hard. Someone rightly pointed out that the problem with expansions like TGT comes not from the number of cards to collect, but from the number of c*ap cards which hinder your collecting...

I feel icky and Appleman are annoying, but they are the least problematic imo. There are some more troublesome cards out there.

I've been wondering lately about how players are throwing a lot of ideas for Savage Roar nerfs, but imo the easiest way to fix this card, whithout giving it the 'Warsong' treatment, is to simply change it to +1. That way it won't diminish it usefulness as a burst card, while reducing it's OP-ness. 10 dmg does not sound as bad as 14.

Btw I didn't think of that earlier, but the 'Hero Taunt' brawl mights suggest a new mechanic (or an ability for a Warrior legendary maybe?). Unfortunately in it's current form it's even more Smorcish then Smorc...

Juggler is way too strong for a 2 drop. Perfect stats 3/2. And synergizes with ALL other cards basically, lol. When I play against aggro I mulligan so I can kill a Juggler turn 2. Always.

And since we are losing so many anti-aggro cards then nerfing Leper too makes sense. It is the best aggro 1 drop. Doing 4 damage usually for 1 mana.

SCREW Shamans and their doomhammer snow deck!

Doomhammer + 2xRockbiter weapons = my death..

And two expansions pr year is too many imo, unless they are small expansions.. But I want my adventures more than expansions.

I am afraid that at this pace they are going to burn the game out very quickly. There are only so many cards you can make until they start turning into reskins.
