That only proves Jaina is the best pick for Arena (mainly because of Frostbolts, Fireballs and Flamestrikes). Though useful as a finisher, I find Pyroblast too expensive. I've took 3 Pyroblasts once and I didn't have much use forthem because usually duels were finished until I had 10 mana (those darn Shamans with their Bloodlust!). Once I've had 9-3 with Jaina and those three losses were because my opponents seriously had more luck in draws/good Legendaries.
Unfortunately lately I have s*itty draws with her, not too many dmg/board control cards. 6 wins at most with that...
PS: Mmm, Ilidan is quite a nice draw to have, I congratulate you. Can I ask how much gold/arcane dust and other rewards you've got?

Everything else I got was gold, I think around 400, not positive on that though. And yeah, Mage is probably the best class in Arena, although not as far ahead as some would say. One card that was really good for me was Raging Worgen, pinging it and then hitting the hero for 8 proved such a useful tool.

Well, as far as it goes, all "Enraged" cards fit perfectly into a Mage's deck. Gurubashi Berserker is the best one because of its high HP (it's hard to kill without disabling cards). But of course, even less advanced players know that.
I also find Sorcerer's Apprentice a must have. Summoning her and playing Arcane Missile or Mirror Image in turn two/with The Coin usually gives you a head start. And she has 3 attack which is a lot in the first few turns. All that for only two mana. I wonder if they'll nerf her someday...

Took to playing after a while.
Apparently, there's been an influx of pretenders on the murloc throne lately. Both of these fine gentlemen have been promptly dispatched, though they were fun matches.
This poor lad's resistance only made my murlocs harder. He also Millhouse'd me, using his coin, against my first-turn Flame Imp. I took him out with a free mortal coil and thanked him for the card.
EDIT Wait, no, that was another guy. What would a Millhouse be doing in a murloc deck. He doesn't even rwlrwl.
Was a bit of a close call when I met this comrade murk-eye to murk-eye, but I had the last rwlrwl, much to his your soul shall suffer.
I'm not sure about the murloc warlock's standing in the current meta, but it's not about winning, it's about style.
Actually, it's not even about style. It's about the murlocs.

It went down hard versus unleash the skill hunter decks and I think zoolock also beat the crap out of it, so I think it became a bit unpopular. And I think most people still go zoolock rather than mrwrglrglr. Anyway, Murloc is cool.
I just play beastmaster hunter, because I'm boring and I don't have the time to play 20 minutes as mage every game.
EDIT: blood imp in a murloc deck? Disgusting, baklava.

Then how did that murloc on the left become a 2/2? The only reason I can think of is blood imp! Shattered sun would have made it a 3/2 and so would a banana.

Got smacked by a Shaman in Arena for 28 Damage on turn 6.
Turn 5 he played that 2/8 Wind Fury Hammer.
Turn 6 he played 4 Rockbiter spells (each gives a character +3 attack)
So 4*+3Atk added to the original 2 of the weapon = 14 Damage smashing me in my face twice. Added to the 4 damage he already did the turn before = 32.

Well, as I said, Hearthstone is a dumbed down card game. 30 cards max, no matter what, 2 max of each card, etc etc... Duel of Champions has like 10 x times more cards, if not more, you have strategy involving blocking units via 4 possible rows, lots more combos and stuff.
And the irony is that I still play Hearthstone over Duel of Champions because at Hearthstone you don't need to play 1 000 + hours before your collection of card is big enough to be able to make interesting and fun decks. Even common cards are good, where as Duel of Champions, you'll have enough cards to make 1 solid deck and that's it for the next 1 000 + hours.

Like I said before, Hearthstone is the fastest card game out there.
That and the involvement of Warcraft lore makes it very interesting for me so right now I'm playing it the most (I'm waiting for MTG 2015 though).
I wonder if they could make it into an actual board game. Just think of those custom made Warcraft (or Diablo/Starcraft) themed boards... I think it would be a fun idea, they could even make some live tournaments on Blizzcon, thus luring all those additional people in the form of board game geeks.
The only drawback of Hearthstone, which I'm getting really irritated with, is that getting those Legendaries is really slow. I suppose you have to get 10+ wins in the Arena to get a chance for a Legendary. Well I usually win around 5-6 games and thus I'm getting crap (and additional Gold which I would rather exchange for Arcane Dust).

In Hearthstone, even common cards are good, so you can make a both good AND fun deck rather quickly. Duel of Champions' commons are usually snowty, and all the good AND fun, interesting, combo cards are freaking rares.
