I answer shortly now.

Wesley, why He would not do any other planets? He have created much more funny things. As we see the God has good sense of humour. If He have made samekind planets like the Earth with animals, people etc. to live there.
And it`s not the God who makes human mutilate another one and eat rest of him after he have fried him in pan. It`s Satan.
You can read about heaven from the Bible, like psalm 23 and other psalms, book of Revolution etc.
I respect your comments, I could answer to all of them with long answer but my English skill won`t allow it

Zune, nice to hear that Holy Spirit is quite Wisecracker, He have pushed me down for a couple times too Lord be with you.

Again.

Why he would create poop flies and why he creates all those silly creatures that have no place among us and only are troubles... Like ticks and other creeps.

And I think god would already cleaned the earth with his water powers if he saw all those factories.. Back then when he cleaned the earth there were only a few people! And some of them were evil.. so god just threw a tidal wave on earth to dispose all evil.. LOL look at that junkies! if he did exist then that tidal wave should be our grave for about centuries...

Aren't you people afraid he will do the same that he did with that people(Noach and the boat) anytime soon? The earth is dirty and very filthy.. So I should better make yourself a boat anytime soon!

"There is a moth that lives in a certain forest (in England, IIRC). This forest is composed almost entirely of white birch trees. 90% of the moths were white, but 10% of the adult moths showed an abnormality- they were black. A factory was built by this forest, and within 20 years, all the birch tree trunks got stained black by the soot. At this time, 90% of the moths were BLACK, with 10% showing an abnormality and being WHITE. Reason? Because natural selection is a real thing. Those moths not suited to hiding amidst the trees become easy prey, and die before they get a chance to mate and pass on their color to their offspring. The trees change colors, and the moth population does as well. Evolution at its best."

Yes, you're right

I finished to read this this thread.
There are a lot of interesting things, and a lot to say about, but I can't say alot, because my post would be a mess.
There are somethings which surprise me.
Why do everybody say that there can't be god an evolution?
I believe in god and not in creationism. I think god created the world like humans discover it, he created a world with dinosaures, and many planets, and humans.
I don't know why, but he must have his resaons.
And another thing:
Do you really think Wesley, that other planets are useless?
How can you know what humans will be able to do in many years many centuries and more? I think they can have use of many things.
in old times, people didn't believe that humans could ever walk on the moon, and humans did. So, how can you know what will happen?

Good point.  I believe that God created everything but I also believe that things have evolved over time as well.  Adapting to their suroundings as things change.  I also believe in the ice age.  After the flood you don't think all that water just sat there do you?  The water in the poles probably all froze and glaciers probably formed with that.
Their are several things that can be explained with science but some things like the creation of the earth, well I don't think any scientist has setteled on an explaination yet.

Here goes, lets shoot my fellow countryman

Why would he do that ?
only he knows, if we would know we would be to smart, or know to much. Maybe then its time for a flood

And about his water powers
He is not going to do that again.
But he has another arrow up his sleeve called fire power
So if he exists somewhere and does have an agenda
with some cleening program about earth.
Its going to be fire this time.(according to the bibble)

For myself
im not that big a fan of the bibble or religion.
If you would calculate what is to blame for the most deaths in this world its religion.
BUT if you wonder at how the world is working and how great some stuff actualy is. you just might think that someone realy clever and mighty made it all possible and work.

I only believe in myself

And I don't care were I end up if i'm death, I guess evil people will go to hell(or whatever)

But are all people that don't believe in a invisible god bad? I think if that's the case then GOD is evil himself.. Never show anything to uss and then banish us to hell because we don't believe some old books....

Sorry but that's just not right..

What about his miracles and oh I don't know, the creation of everything that exists.  That kinda thing.  I'm not telling anyone to believe in God, in fact this thread wasn't even about God to begin with.  You people just kinda brought him into it.  This thread is supposed to discuss myths and legends and crap.

Most legends and myths are based on fact. That's not to say that they don't get twisted and changed along the way, as in the game of 'Chinese Whispers'. Each tale-teller adds their own little bit to the story until it becomes the legend or myth that we know today...full of fabulous creatures and wild exploits!

It'd be nice to believe that there's other things on our own planet undiscovered, never mind UFO's.
I like the idea of Cat's elves still knocking about the countryside of Gwynedd.
Then maybe I'll find a leprechauns pot of gold in the forest behind my house and get 3 wishes

firstly one really delayedcomment on Sachmo71's words on the first page.
(The end result, IMHO, would be that many humans would refuse to accept that there are aliens, or ghosts, etc., even if they happened to encounter one face to face. The human brain would figure out some way to discount any such encounter.)
there are many writers who have used the same logics - Charles de Lint 'Somewhere to be flying'.. or even Douglas Adams...
and i believe both in bible and the evolution. i see the bible not as a historical record but a story that has to be understood symbolicly - as simple as that...:-)
and about myths - there's an old saying that there's no smoke without fire, so there must be a reason why those myths and legends were created. that might have been just fear when seeing something that one didn't understand or something else...
but somehow i find it necessary for me to believe in something mystical and "over-reasonable"... i recently read 'the mists of Avalon' by Marion Bradley Zimmer again and it once more gave me the understanding that if i truly wish i could have magic in my life...:-) and i could find it everywhere - even in playing homm...:-)
and i apologize for my not-so-good englist, but i just needed to speak my mind in this issue...
