I think that it's TOTALLY LAME that the enemies can flee during their ballista and first aid tent phase. He'll be down to 20 or so golems and then, right after he moves them, POOF! He fled.

I don't see what this has to do with the Horn of the Abyss mod at all. Just a note though, you can only run away at the turn of your tent if you have first aid. Same for ballista and artillery skill.

Either way, this thread is for the HotA mod, and I don't want to derail it. If you want to discuss this further, please start another thread for it.

Guys, how about adding an options on the random map settings to add ambush creatures or not ? It is just an idea, but ambush creatures defeated would give you an artifact or something. Should give you some reasons to recruit more creatures and giving some ambient to the game. Homewer this should be an option so not affecting. I wanted this because I don't want to modify my own maps and know where the ,,ambush'' is.

You can already set events on map... just put the hook out of "cancel after first visit" else: it wont happen

Ambush events are lame, there is nothing more annoying in a game than being constantly interrupted by "few rogues attack you".

It has something to do with HotA because they fix bugs like that. I've seen this happen even without them having artillery or first aid.
Also, I can flee on my artillery or first aid tent phase by clicking on the retreat button fast enough.

So Fred has released his object patch (Not for HotA) and Forge is released (Not for HotA)
So is anything new happening with HotA soon?
Sorry if I'm being impatient, but it's been a while...
Wish we could modify stuff ourselves in HotA, there's a lot I wanna change, but still keep Cove town and heroes around. I realise that's not the goal of the project, so that will probably never happen.

Every year we get a big update on December 31st so even if we don't get to see anything new until then we know we'll probably see something before 2016. Unless the crew has other plans...

They always have been. On December 31st a couple of years ago they released the first public HotA version I believe. No one saw it coming. So even if we expect some news from the crew by then we don't know what to expect. :-)

I remind our users, that versions before 1.3 were coming with a waiting period of no less than a year. After 1.3 we added versions of third degree (aka 1.3.X) mainly for the purpose of bugfixing and slight corrections. Versions 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 with some extencive content were just occasional exceptions.
