How is that being called a normal conversation on a hc forum? Were s the moderator? Not doing his job again? Pople here are allowed to call you names like troll, loser, mock on your ideas and rudely tell you to shut up without any penalty? Let s all do the same! Afterall, being a gentleman is only a matter of choice!

Well I would like to be a gentlemen, but Salamandre is really making it hard to be one.
I never expected anyone to apply all my crazy ideas, I wish I could do it myself. My ideas are well just ideas, they are there to start a debate or discussion. I would of course be very very happy if some of my many ideas got implemented in HotA, does'nt mean I expect it.

Where exaclty did he demand anything to the hota team ? He said it nicely! Isnt he allowed to discuss his opinion? It s your own problem that you find that idea unimportant. In this case you had two choices: dont get involved or put things nicely. It s pretty obvious which was your choice

You should relax a bit and stop randomly barking at people. All I said is that my remark (mockery if you want) wasn't offensive, it was only a funny extension of his demand. Then you came and play the unofficial mod, thus create a storm where there wasn't one in first place.

What you fail to understand is that I never make any demands around here, only ideas.
And you should really practice trying to say things in a more positive way, if that is impossible for you, then just stay away.
If you push a person, the person either pushes back or pretend it did'nt happen, but why do you have to push the person in the first place?...

I have no problems with ideas, as long as they are not ignorant.

Do you think opening a discussion about how unbalanced is Fortress because it has less buildings is intelligent? Have you ever considered that there are many other aspects in the game which compensate the lack of high spells? Like being able to farm thousands of wiverns from nearby swamp dwellings? Like having most of invaders speed suffering a high penalty? Like having 100% secured access right from the start to some of the best heroes? You think those details are not important, because you keep playing only against retarded AI, but then maybe read what people advice or tell you.

Or you don't, you keep rotating same obsessions over and over: fortress to slow, stronghold too slow, fortress no spells and yada yada other inaccurate things. You are not in some "how girls should make up" forum, you are in Heroes III forums, where game-play conclusions from best players are already available, for you to read.

Or you just don't care.

WTF was that, don't you think I know where I am and what this forum is about.
Swamp terrain is good for Fortress if they start in swamp yes, so does Cove, so it's not exclusive to Fortress. Fortress only have one weak shooter and two weak flyers and mage guild only at level 3.
I love Fortress because of the creatures and because they are kind of the underdog.
But if you believe Fortress is on the top of the food chain, more power to you, but I don't. And Stronghold is not good either, only if you can find and destroy the opposition very quickly.

Two weak fliers: super remark from someone who obviously never had to break anything on second week and probably goes for capitol first. One of those "weak" has 70 HP and you can get it DAY 2. The other has speed 9 and 13 as upgrade and is the optimal creature to take out shooters on first week, especially when combined with the tactics skill you usually blame in other 25 threads. Please keep in mind that comparing towns is also a matter of comparing how fast a hero can level when using those creatures, not which gets implosion and dimension door after 5 months of ditching in his corner.

And a fortress hero levels VERY fast because he can fight very early with what is to recruit.

And I never said any town is on top of the food chain. I say: everyone has its strong and weak sides, but in competitive play, almost all are very decent and challenging. If there is one which may indeed raise some questions, it is dungeon with its slow dwellings pace, and tower with its lack of native terrain bonuses. But I heard that was fixed in hota already.

Dungeon is one of the best towns along with Castle and Cove imo.
Have you even played HotA Salamandre? Necromancy was halved and Phoenix growth reduced to 3 plus 6 and 7 level Conflux creatures made more expensive, making Necropolis and Conflux not owerpowered anymore.
Tower has always had snow as native terrain, is this news to you?

Actually, in HotA you can always buy them from day 1 because the second level creature dwelling (Lizard Den) is always pre-built.

Anyhow, starting out on a terrain with penalty to non-native creatures will most likely be more of a penalty to your own heroes than it will ever be to your opponent. Sure, situational it might be to your advantage, but I wouldn't personally advertise it as a big defensive advantage at all. Even if an attacking hero lacks fly/dd/pathfinding then he can just follow the road to your town, unless we're also including scenarios without roads.

On the Jebus Cross template when farming angels, giants and firebirds then it can especially be a pain because your starting zone is so big, although there's some ways of dealing with it.

You could say that being able to use your, say, fortress creatures in other swamp zones is an advantage, sure, but you'll still face the same problem of having other non-native creatures in your army.

I like Fortress as it is, every monster has a nice specialty. Gorgons are awesome, same as Basilisks, Dragonflys and Wyvern. Dungeon and Castle are beginner towns imo, easy to play not difficult to master. As for Cove it is op to me as it is but takes long to evolve like tower. If you strike, best week 2-3 or something. shooters grow extremely strong after some time and with upgraded lvl7 units you can get huge problems, also the Nix are quite OP vs might heroes.

Gnolls and Lizardmen? Fortress has nice abilities, but against Necropolis and Conflux, most of them does'nt work.

Very few lvl1 monsters have a useful ability or a ability at all. No retaliation for conflux is the most powerful imo followed by trogolodyts. I agree with lizardmen, average hp for lvl2 and nothing sepcial, as only shooters they could need a lil buff imho.

Conflux and Necropolis are quite special (both nerfed for that reason). Also they are strong counterparts both.

I would like to watch a PvP match Conflux vs. Necropolis on Rebus Cross and with HotA balance. Any pros interested in hosting?

Hmm I don't know about that:
Castle: Immune to jousting
Tower: Shoots
Inferno: Magic Channel
Necropolis: Undead (Immune to mindspells for example)
Dungeon: Immune to Blind and Stone Gaze
Conflux: Flies and no retaliation
Cove: Teleports and immune to Ice Bolt and Frost Ring.

That leaves Fortress, Stronghold and Rampart without abilities.
