I think as very big maps had been implemented a way to avoid getting the same artifact a lot of times would be good. Maybe designing more artifacts so chances of having the same artifact twice would be reduced.

It also be good for big maps if the hero would have more room for carry artifacts or even more room for wear them, maybe after achieving level 15 for example. I guess this last idea is quite difficult to implement.

Thinking about carrying more artifacts, maybe it would be a good secundary skill. Maybe more room for artifacts each 5 leves or something like that. New secundary skills would be a very good way to improve the game without changing the essence of classic heroes 3. I don't know if this idea is plausible or not.

A problem I have found in huge maps is bidirectional portals. At least for me some times it becomes difficult to remember where a portal goes, and I waste lot of time looking for the other portal in a very big map. A way to quickly identify the two sides of a bidirectional portal would be great. I guess that this is also difficult to implement. But a way to ban bidirectional portals in random map generator would be good, at least for some templates, for others would be a problem.

I think that a way to avoid ballistas to weak up blinded enemy units would be good too. For me it is not logical that one of your units "play" againts it. If the battle were "real" the ballista operators probably would be intelligent enought to not wake up a group of behemonts.

maybe some examples for new stuff:

-Combat Training: give all your troops +1,+2,+3 speed in combat
-Hardening (maybe Inferno only): give your troops +5%,+10%,+15% more basic lifepoints. (new hero maybe +1% per level, can't be combined with "Elixier of Life")
-Dark Arts: reduce enemy moral by -1,-2,-3 in combat

*Portals & Underground Gates: would be awesome to autotrack and calculate portals and underground gates for the paths on map. (I think its super hard to implement)

some other stuff I'd like to see:
*New heroes/Specialities: I would really love that with some unique abilities...

-Cover of Darkness like Nagash in WoG a mobile Cover
-Scholar teach and learn spells one more level than usual, basic 2+1, advanced 3+1, expert 4+1)

Nah, tried this, looks way too empty, IMHO. I've done some combinations of desert hills+dunes+subterranean rocks, and to me it looks decent, but it doesn't give that desert feel entirely. I know it sounds ridiculous to expect some kind of decorations fitting the desert vibe, snice desert is just freaking sand and nothing besides it, but... A guy can dream.

I've thought about it for a while, and it would be great to have e.g. an abandoned caravan for a decorative object.

The coastline theme is perfect and I'm really glad of the additions the team made. Most of it doesn't exactly fit the desert, though.

ok I understand. btw has the skill eagle eye been changed? maybe that its possible to learn level 5 spells or higher percentage? I thought this skill is a bit underpowered.

There's a problem I have had since patch 1.4.2. I made a map with version 1.3.8, that was playable on 1.4.0 but it wasn't working at 1.4.2. Will it be playable on 1.5.0? Is there a solution how to make the map playbale?

There was a bug with Town Gate (new map object) in 1.4.0, so if you have any of those on your map - just delete them and place again in new map editor.

In single scenarios, there are three certain maps with texts that are not translated to english.
For example:

You just need to install languagepack russian and reboot your system on russian language enabled for "Unicode Compatible Programs" to display it correctly.... else: Shift+Alt to switch languages/keyboard style maybe enough too but I doubt it.

Hi guys! I`ve got two questions:
1. When I try to go to combat options during a battle, my hota crashes with an error message saying. In the H3HD error log appears that some def files missing. This error occurs regardless I use HD mod or not. It`s only for me? Any solutions?

2. Is there anything besides external "cranim" what would speed up animations in H3 complete while using HD mod?

What's up guys. I'm eagerly awaiting the forthcoming update. I can't ring in the new year properly without an annual HotA update. ;-)

Does anyone know if it's possible to have HotA on a Macbook Air? If so; how do I go about installing it?

I just wonder what a skip of 0.7 versions will change. Sure it's just a number but ppl expect something from 1.5 I guess.

That depends on your definition of the version number. At the office where I work, we use a system where a version number like 12.875.32 might just exist for a document or program. In that case, however, the major number (12 in this case) indicates the major release version, the middle number (875) the minor release version (like a service pack or something of that major release version) and the final number (32) the patch level of that minor release.

If the HotA crew handles a similar system, they might have developed up and beyond 1.4.10 in the current live version of the game.
