If you use the Titan's Thunder set and you already have the Lightning Bolt spell, would the set bonus become "increase Lightning Bolt Damage by 600 and zero spell points cost" instead of "Give Lightning Bolt spell at 600 Damage and zero spell points cost"?

How many campaign scenarios does HOTA currently have? (Please separate by campaign)

Will there be more campaigns in the future?

So I was looking through one of the out-of-the-box HotA (1.5.3) maps called 'The Challenge' in the map editor, and I noticed something... interesting... about the Two Way Sea Portals.



The above image is of the portal at 11,24 (some items were removed from the map for clarity) but from what I can see, all of them are like that. Here's what's interesting here.

There's a White Two Way Sea Portal sitting on top of what is made to look like a patch of kelp but is in fact a weird form of Purple Portal One Way Exit (or a two way portal, depending on which message you trust - the description or the tooltip).

Now - I know you can modify objects to look like other objects. I wonder if it's the case here (perhaps to enable some unusual portal traversal mechanics?) or if that's a bug or something else entirely. Anyone from the HotA team cares to comment?

It seems like you have some kind of bugged version - there should be a normal sea portal there. I would suggest trying to re-download version 1.5.3 from the official link and re-install

It's the same for every portal on this map. The map was added before new sea portals had it's working utility and were acting simply as empty decorative objects over there. Looks like with the patch it broken and overwritten they utility causing objects overlapping in the map and instead of connect the portals in a deliberate way of enter-exit caused all of the portals over the map to become two-way. The water ones should look like this, and work as a decoration:


Or in another speculation of mine about the newest patch:
It may prevent AI opponent of using the portal, as the AI isn't capable of using ground portals placed on water nor any form of tavern on water, thus causing the white water portal being able to be entered only by human player, as AI is reading the one placed beneath with  texture of a patch of kelp and it unallows it to enter in this square.

In any case that map is the most strange and funniest of all. It contains 1x1 size underground corridors, out of map objects, red trees unavailable for standard use in the editor etc.

Can someone helps me with this error ? I installed the game correctly but sometimes when I'm not playing. The .exe files of HotA just disappear and when I run the HD .exe I got this error :

I have to install HotA again to fix this, but they just disappear after that again.

I have created a template, I set a treasure zone with a rule to créate dragon utopias. I set value 15000, frequency 10000 or 9999, and máximum quantity to 3, but some times the rmg doesnt créate utopias in that zone, some times a few pandoras and nothing more. Is this a bug? should i change settings?

Zone is underground, size 12 and has a town.

What are the treasure ranges in your zone ?

If they are too low, no dragon utopias will be created, but if they are too high, RMG may struggle as well. The fact you sometimes only get pandora's boxes may be a sign of that.

I think you are right, i have tested downgrading the treasures leves and now it Works better. I had the upper range from 30000 to 40000. Thank you!

Could it be that your virus scanner is putting the HotA exe in quarantine or otherwise removes it?

it's also not a good idea. a better fix is to move the game folder (or reinstall the game) to somehwere where you have access to. for example, create a new folder C:Games, and put the heroes folder there.

I think you mean old custom maps, since original campaings are not available in Hota.

Spell research works in random maps and Hota's own custom maps. Check that you're running the latest version aswell.

To use spell research, go to your town's mage guild, and click spell you wish to be swapped. For a small fee, you can get two other options. If you're satisfied with one of the given choices, choose "End Research" in order to lock that spell. Your heroes are now able to learn that spell, but it cannot be researched anymore.

However, if either spell is not for your liking, choose one of them, but click "Confirm without ending research" instead. This way, you can research that spell again in the upcoming days without locking on to anything and wasting any spell slots.
