This will not make the A"I" turn into something challenging.

I'm looking forward to the new double tier 7 mechanics, I'll most probably go for the mech branch and Dreadnaughts. Coatls are yet another dragon and I feel the colour palette is too garish for Factory and H3 in general.

Yes! Now's HOTA. Not one amateur plays HOTA. So HOTA team can create strongest AI. Game is still easy for us.

I suggest HOTA creates Nightmare in difficulty level. What? AI grows troops as Hexis.

But if HOTA team be able to create memory on the machine. Today, chess engine over 3000 ELO. The strongest over 3500 ELO. Human player has in about 2850 ELO. How? Chess engine uses memory, it never played the same game again also it searches for better move. So AI never walks over Time Event Traps. Because it remember about Trap, etc H4 has memory, but minor.

If not doing so. WoG/ERA is much better, today you can create Nightmare level. HOTA has a limitation.

You can do all that in Era. Try to teach AI to cast Fire Wall then tell me about it...

Couple of questions about the new unit

1) Does debuff spells like Slow and Curse work on Couatls when they're on their stace?
2) Can the invulnerability be Dispelled?

I've no idea how you did come to this conclusion. The real reason is likely something to do with them just being "lazy", as everything would need to be taught to AI, it's not just about giving it the ability to do a certain thing. The spells are likely even more diffycult to code. I can only imagine what kind of process it would be to make the AI be able to use Fire wall for example. Some spells are likely banned for AI's on safety, something Scuttle boat coming to mind first.

Congratulations to the artists behind the new 7th tier creature. It looks amazing.

I like the idea of Factory's virtual unit division between technological and upgraded nature. It's like there were 2 factions that competed who can create more powerful monsters, one with selective breeding(maybe even some magic mutation) and one with technology. I hope they will implement that conflict of ideas in a campaign.

Does anyone know what programs do they use for creating units/map objects?

I can't remember where, but I'm sure I have seen a comment from one of the original developers that thought AI using Berserk would be "unfair" to the player. (But us using it against AI was apparently totally fine.)
Sure it would probably be very hard to teach AI to use Fire Wall effectively, maybe the same with Force Field, Quicksand and Land Mine. But what about Remove Obstacle, it could use it to remove our Fire Walls, Force Fields, Quicksand and Land Mines or even just use it to detect them, just like we can or to remove a natural obstacle preventing it from reaching a target.
I don't know about Scuttle Boat, it would probably be very annoying if it started scuttling all our boats, but it does mean it could potentially get stuck or need to take some other/longer way, because it can't cast it.

But yeah the buildings in towns are probably a lot easier to code and probably also more important.

Everything looks great.

Shame that the multi-colored bird is the unupgraded, means we'll see it much less and it's by far the coolest of the couple.

I'm sure they will make both 7th lv dwellings expensive (like 20k), so you won't be able to buy both unless playing on easy/very rich template/defeat dragon utopia. Of course that's a good thing.  

The couatl will probably be something like a phoenix. Buy it for initiative and spam Expert Slow like no tomorrow. But that's not everything. The invulnerability could be very useful when fighting strong units like dragons and keeping your more precious creatures safe.
I'm 100% sure the players will divide couatls into stacks of 1, so with just few Couatls you will be effectively able to protect f. ex. your powerstack of cyclops. If you're lucky with battle terrain generation, it will be godly, but that doesn't happen so often.

Dreadnought will probably by like hydra, but better and more expensive. I see it as not as fast as Angel but tankier than Angel. It's laser attack special ability could be good, but we have to wait for more details to be sure. Human players will move units accordingly, so I don't think it will be OP. This unit will probably need Haste to shine. And it doesn't fly- if 4lv unit will not fly either, Couatl will be the only one able to.  

The more I think about it, the more I'm sure Couatls will probably be a better unit - or should I say, better unit for PvP. Players will probably take it for invulnerability and use other units for tanking and damaging (like Angels from Griffin Conservatory).

I wouldn't count on it, the other towns so far stayed completely "classic"... see steel golem... that at least would have fittet in tower town e.g.

The only thing that happened was the nerf for conflux and necropolis but more or less thats the "new content" for all old towns, along with some balance changes. Only really new thing is the "Vault of Ashes", but thats just another nerf mechanic anyway (from previous +4 in total).

Maybe we're lucky that old towns also get an unique war machine... but I wouldn't count on that in near future...
