I'm sure they will make both 7th lv dwellings expensive (like 20k), so you won't be able to buy both unless playing on easy/very rich template/defeat dragon utopia. Of course that's a good thing.

The couatl will probably be something like a phoenix. Buy it for initiative and spam Expert Slow like no tomorrow. But that's not everything. The invulnerability could be very useful when fighting strong units like dragons and keeping your more precious creatures safe.
I'm 100% sure the players will divide couatls into stacks of 1, so with just few Couatls you will be effectively able to protect f. ex. your powerstack of cyclops. If you're lucky with battle terrain generation, it will be godly, but that doesn't happen so often.

Dreadnought will probably by like hydra, but better and more expensive. I see it as not as fast as Angel but tankier than Angel. It's laser attack special ability could be good, but we have to wait for more details to be sure. Human players will move units accordingly, so I don't think it will be OP. This unit will probably need Haste to shine. And it doesn't fly- if 4lv unit will not fly either, Couatl will be the only one able to.

The more I think about it, the more I'm sure Couatls will probably be a better unit - or should I say, better unit for PvP. Players will probably take it for invulnerability and use other units for tanking and damaging (like Angels from Griffin Conservatory).

It's been rumourer a lot that the sandworm could also "fly" by using some sort of digging method.

We need to see the stats in order to guess which one of the two monsters will likely come on top. Couatl splitting tactic seems obvious, but that will need Cyclopses in order to be effective, and in the endfight I think the Dreadnought will be better because of all the spellcasting.

I am pleasantly surprised with Coatl as a second tier 7 unit. We already speculated that they are going to be a part of Factory line-up, but no one could have guessed that we would see them as another tier 7 unit.

Great job my comrades from Russia!

That Couatl looks FANTASTIC! Kudos to the dude that made it.

HOWEVER, I have some beefs with it.

I think that the normal unit should be crimson and the upgrade should be rainbow colored. The upgrade seems to be like a downgrade in this aspect, it's just armor added to it but it lost it's charm.

I also think that the upgrade's name should be Quetzacouatl.

I think the red IS the aesthetic.  The natural bird has been industrialized, giving it mechanical strength, but costing its natural beauty.

Good point. But you gotta agree that we lose something upgrading it, right? The unwritten golden rule of heroes III's creature design seems to be "the upgraded version is a more aesthetically pleasing version of the regular one".

Omfg I love both of them. Hot damn.

#TeamCouatl #TeamDread

Also what a unique and interesting twist to Factory. Definitely makes it stand out from the rest of the factions. Having two lvl 7 creatures available to it.

I wonder if that is too become a recurring theme for the rest of the factions? And they are rolling it out for Factory first.

Either or, I love it!

I'd love to have it kept as a special feature of Factory. I'm also excited for the Mechanics-Dreadnought repair interaction.

Then again the new towns, Cove with the 3rd upgrade and Factory with double lvl 7 + repairable unit stand out a bit in terms of specialness so maybe there's still something planned for the classic towns.

Are there even any potential units that could be used as second 7th level units for the classic factions?

I can't really think of any.

This is why I'd rather see other forms of "specialess" for the cassic towns, if any. Double tier 7 for all towns feels like wogification/ unneeded bloat/gigantism.

Some kind of love could be spread to the classic towns in a form or another, but some kind of additional upgrade or alternative lvl 7 creature is indeed very woggish. Also, note that Factory has been build around the idea of 2 different developement branches (mechs and the wildlife) and thus two different tier 7's right from the start.

They could add something for inferno though. I feel like although it's been balanced throughout the patches it still lacks some stuff.

I'd say the Imp should have a third upgrade to make them flying units, that would greatly help inferno armies in siege. Other than that i think the demons could be entirely replaced because they have very little use, even upgraded.

Or maybe reworking some heroes or the Heretic class because i find it very unfair that Xyron is the only hero that starts with a level 4 spell and cannot cast it on level 1, and maybe not even until he gains at least a point in knowledge. Compared to Solmyr which start with Sorcery (Xyron has scholar instead...) and Deemer that can cast meteor shower level 1 with increased effect (which is also a spell with higher damage) i feel like a lot is stacked against inferno in the game.

Most inferno heroes are trash, the roaster is poor compared to all other factions. They are also the only ones focusing on fire magic which is the weakest in terms of damages. Fireball damages are low compared to meteor shower, which has the same area damage and costs the same. Also, the school of fire magic is the one with the most creatures immune to it.

I guess it's the little details that stack on top of each other that makes it hard to perform well as inferno.

I agree, Inferno could use some perks and lava terrain should get his own objects, like wastelands and highlands. It's a very unique terrain but is poor even in decorative objects.
Btw, any of the new level 7 creatures is expected to get a bank of their own?

I always thought it was incredibly dumb that fireball and inferno are such weak spells. Fire seems to me like it should by definition be the most offense-oriented school but it really isn't. I like the idea of imps being able to fly, but I don't think they really need a new upgrade for that just add it on to the familiars and give them enough of a stat boost that they're good enough to be useful for something besides demon farming. The demons themselves I think are decent units just really unremarkable maybe they could have unlimited retaliation or double strike or maybe even the haspid's revenge ability. Idk something to make it stand out and give you a reason to upgrade it. (right now upgrade only adds +5 HP and +1 speed. lol.) Pit Lords seem like they should have no enemy retaliation because a whip is sort of a ranged weapon. Give the cerberus like +1 growth maybe so it almost matches the royal griffins? Efreets IMO are already really good units and devils aren't the best level 7 but they're good enough. Give Heretics an extra point of knowledge to start too. All that and Infero could be a pretty strong faction but not by any means overpowered and not too WOGish.

Like? Oh, I have ideas (mod cross-pollination/MM6-ery, Lübeck on the Ifarine, the island of ice and cheese Chronicles dropped the ball on...). Think? I'm certain the team has different and far more developed ideas than that, for all that I nitpick things. That's pretty much what that interview said, after all, that they have plenty of ideas.

Both the old concept of the Cathedral and Kronverk factions sound really cool I'd be excited to see either of them implemented.

I'd like to play Kronverk. It was one of the originally planned cities anyway. I like the idea of it and I'd like to see another see with snow as it's native terrain.

It seems more unique than the other proposed idea, that is Cathedral, which I fear would be just an evil copy of Castle.

I think one additional unit for every town (it wouldn't have to be 7th level) would be OK. Hota is very meticulous when it comes to adding new staff so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't feel out of place.
That said, I think that adding new town would still be a priority and we won't see stuff like that soon.
Please take into considaration that adding new stuff keeps Hota alive. I do agree however, that adding too much or too fast would be following in WoG footsteps.
