As funny as Fire Elementals attack Efreets
Maybe so but you could say Fire Elementals are beings of pure "energy" so somehow maybe they "invade" Efreets physical form But using flamethrowers, unless it's some kind of strange Erathian chemical, is like pouring water into a pool.

Maybe this could be explained that the ships are so close to each other when boarding that the Sandworm simply drills a hole in the ships body and stretches from one ship to another. And don't mind them swiss-cheesing their own ship in the process.
It's fun to think about such "problems" and try to solve them, but Heroes has so many contradictions and scale problems that it's pure speculation. It's a fictional fantasy world afterall

Same goes for passing Inferno moats or fights on Magic Clouds, Fiery Fields, Evil Fog or something.
They should be dirty after digging in Swamp terrain.

Lol, this is actually funny. I just had a vision of a Sandworm just falling through the clouds screeching Shaaaaa! Btw I was skeptic about this units at first, but then realized "Purple Worms" are the mainstay of D&D and some of the most classic "dungeon" and well-known monsters. And Sandworms remind me of them.
I forgot to mention that we can also see how Quick Shot ability works. It kills the first Gog stack that tried to attack the Gunslinger. Cool ability, but can be devastating...

You can see in the unit's info menu that it's basically a weaker ranged retaliation.

Yeah but the as I understand from looking at the video it works preempetively and that is huge, because it basically reduces a stacks power before it even attacks. Hence "quick shot". Now imagine having 100 of them in a stack.

I read on the russian forums that the worms will have an alternative animation for moving where digging in the ground would look funny, boats being the obvious example. How this will remain a teleport behaviour though is lost to me - guess we have to see it.

Perhaps the Sandworms will lose the "teleportation" part in some cases. That could bring a bit more depth into them. I wonder if even the upgraded ones will have some sort of ability, I couldn't tell from the trailer.

We don't, exept I don't see how they couldn't be healer/ressurrected by mechanics and engineers.
Could there be any chance that the Steel golems and the automatons would be somehow connected? I know that it's a long shot, but Steel golems are mechanical lvl 4 creatures... Just couldn't resist to brought this one up.

That's a good ability for sure and they will be extremely irritating to deal with as neutral enemies. When fought against another player or AI army, I'm not convinced that the ability will play a huge role. One can of course force them to melee to avoid most of their power.
Does anyone know, how the upgraded Bountyhunter will work? Does he give unlimited ranged retalitions? If so, it would be hilarious to enter battle with just Bountyhunters against ranged neutrals, and watch the enemies melt before getting their shots off.

They might be connected to Steel Golems, that would'nt surprise me at all.
I hope upgraded Bountyhunters do not have unlimited ranged retaliations, that would be really broken! That they retaliate before the enemys attack, could even be considered broken.

I love how a lot of the creatures are looking after viewing the trailer. Stunning work, I am extremely impressed by the HoTa team!
The Couatls and the upgraded version might be one of my favorite new creatures. The Juggernaut also looks awesome and I really see it fitting now.
The only few things that stand out to me is the sandworm looking too smooth and glossy, I'd prefer to see it with a little more texture (even just some noise texture applied). The model of the dude with the gun also seems to *clean* and smooth, a little more texture would make him fit with the rest of H3 creature models. I'm not sure how others feel on this but the cigarette ruins the whole atmosphere, it just doesn't seem to fit for me.
I completely understand that things aren't complete yet, these are just some suggestions. I am very impressed with what has been shown so far! The adventure map also looks fantastic!

That is only a matter of numbers. I'd rather have new and varying mechanics and have the balancing implemented by means of stats.

Why don't they change it so it retalilates after being attacked? It already seems op to me just thinking about it. Plus it's damage is much higher (20-24) than Cyclops/Cyclops King (16-20). I can't imagine using any shooters lower than lvl 6 on them especially that shooters have low hp anyway.

I don't exactly understand why this ability is seen so threatning, or what are you considering as "op?" IMO they could somewhat be compared to Efreet sultans, as they also have an ability that makes damaging them make you suffer loses as well. However, I would argue that Sultans are definetly more irritating of the two - they have the means of reaching your shooters and forcing melee fight, the comboys on the other hand doesn't seen to be the most fastest unit, and they're in severe disadvantage when they're on melee, as I don't suspect the upgrade receiving no melee penalty (Bounty hunters have been seen retalating with fists only)
Yes, they're way better unit than cyclopses, but that isn't saying much, as cyclopses are a below avarage unit by their tier standards.
They will be very irritating to deal when they're met as neutral enemies, but that doesn't really tell anything about their "opness."

You will literally not want to use any of your ranged units on them, that's what's op about them. Sultans Fire shield only deals small partial damage doesn't it?

Fire Shield only works after being attacked, Quick Shot works before.
So how do you actually deal with Bounty Hunters? Well shooting at them is a bad idea, so either engage them in melee, cast Blind or Forgetfulness or blast them with some damage spells. At least they are low on HP and Defense.

The thing here is that even though Efreets are fast, ranged units in Heroes 3 have always had a strategic advantage over melee due to the nature of their attack (no counter). Note that you can use "Tactics" to encircle the Bounty Hunter and make him unapproachable to both melee and ranged units (yeah I know clustering units is dangerous but in most battles I use it as a strategic advantage because AI always attacks ranged units first).
Unless Quick Shot actually has a reduced damage (like 50% of base attack) this ability is OP. I don't remember the exact numbers, but Fire Shield returns a % of damage to the attacker.

He uses a small revolver for quick shot, so it's pretty obvious he deals like 10-12 damage instead of the 20-24 he does with an actual gun, and also uses one shot as well for balance reasons.
