I'm not fully sure, but you could try editing each connection's placement hint by setting it as default. Also, RMG will likely have issues of not placing monoliths if there are many zones with multiple connection between them, so one way of fighting against this issue could be to play to avoid that kind of templates.
There's still not much from what I can see. How do I know a Template won't have any of those monoliths though?
It's really annoying on big maps where there are like 3 in your area which lead to other 2 which lead to other 3 and so on.

Dear friends,
We have suffered a grievous loss. On November 7, 2020, the founder and leader of the Horn of the Abyss project, wonderful artist and composer known to the wide HoMM community as Docent Picolan, died tragically. It would be no exaggeration to call HotA his brainchild, as it was he who created most visual and fundamental concepts that laid the foundation of the project, and his unquenchable enthusiasm had been our driving force through all 13 years of development. Not only was Docent the project manager; he was also responsible for a huge amount of graphical assets. He also kept in touch with the community, wrote music, and simply led by example, helping everyone stay invested and interested in our work.
It will take some time before we come to terms with this loss and figure out how to continue our work without him. Nevertheless, HotA Crew promises that the development of the project will continue. The Factory which Docent had been devoting all his energy to for the last three years will be completed and released in loving memory of our friend and colleague.

Wow... Didn't expect something like that to happen! He was so young... My deepest condolences to his friends and family...
Even if I'm curious... I guess it isn't appropriate to ask what happened in detail. I could already limit it myself to only 3 possible options.

May he rest in peace.
He kept alive the online community of HoMM3 and did some amazing work (praised even by Greg). I'm truly grateful for that.

Very unfortunate. His work on the HoTA project really breathed new life into HoMM3 for me. It changed my view on the game and now I regard it as an unofficial expansion to the game that is required to have the best experience possible. Now I can't tolerate playing HoMM3 without HoTA and the HD mod.

I am deeply saddened by this news. I did not expect something like this at all.
I wonder what happened. You of course don't have to tell us that.
Thanks for everything Docent.
I am glad the rest of the team will continue, but I also understand if this will make development slower, while you regroup and even if you don't feel like doing anything for a while.
I wish the rest of the team all the best and all of you others as well.

Just played the game we owe to Docent Picolan today, came here, saw a number of new post, was prepared for news ... then this.
Oh no...
I'm shocked.
I wish all the best for the people who were close to Docent.
