The best freely. I can't install, because original folder in WoG/ERA. HotA installer rejected folder 2, for example. Later on I install original folder for HotA, and folder 2 for WoG/ERA 3.8 version. Soon ERA 4.

Something I didn't say is that I don't like "wild west" aesthetic for factory. Something more clockpunk or victorian europe would have been better. Strange that russians go with "cowboys". And also max cowboy unit is a central american quetzal :v
I dunno, this town aint looking so swell on the visual design department...

I had a similar feeling for a while. The bounty hunter was what had me on the fence. It’s placement as the tier 6 was a little odd to me, but I like the line up having a tier 1 & 6 shooters, so I’ve grown to like it more.

@Nimostar I don't know if you had seen the update that Docent posted back in the day. The "too wild west" concern was shared by the team at that time, hence swapping out the Gunslinger's hat and beard to be more Renaissance rather than Old West, and also mentioning at the time that the Mechanic's weapon would be redone to look less modern, along with losing the cigarette.
Certainly the town still has some Old West influences there (the Burton cutscene comes to mind) but it's clear the team is aware of not wanting to go too far. As with all things in art it'll be up to the beholder to judge when it's ready.

Could be, but once you design something, to change the concept via small "tweaks" is pretty hard. I just wish they would get rid of the saloon-like buildings in the town screen... I believe that kind of architecture goes more with a "victoria II" modern setting than with a high fantasy setting.

What I don't like about Factory is the Coatl.
Yet another dragon albeit a pretty fancy looking one.
All in all I like how Factory is a amalgamation of different stylistic influenves.

They have stated that Automaton will not be revealed before the release. This is done to save at least some surprises to the end.

You work a lot just for us and HotA is already a masterpiece, even before the release of Factory.
Just getting a message from you like this one makes me very happy !
The only upgrades i can think of right now would be increasing the population growth in neutral creatures' dwellings (Because right now it's never interesting for the player to lose movement points AND an army slot in order to recruit these units, especially boars and mummies. Steel Golems can't be recruited at all but that's another problem.), and adding more impassable terrain objects that are 2 tiles tall and 1 tile large, or the L-shaped ones, so that the landscapes look more natural and less like a grid (The Wasteland Tar Pits are great for this but they are too wide and can't be placed everywhere, flower bushes or cacti that are 2 tiles tall and 1 tile large would be perfect i think.).

I can't stop being curious. Is it true that one of the goals of HotA, is to reduce RNG?
Some noticeable details:
Warehouses of resources -> provides a static amount of resources (6/10)
Interference replaced Resistance, basically a more stable version of resistance

In case of the two things you mentioned, yeah probably. (Interference sucks though, I agree with Nimo.)
Where they did not reduce RNG is the very overpowered Accurate Shot ability of Sea Dogs...

You shouldn't have a problem with strategy. At last chess engine over 3500 ratings played 1. g4 or 1. e4 e5 2. Ke2 or crazy openings where chess book says to lose with moving, but engine moved and won all. So our book is wrong. Today! I read many years ago, if chess engine worked well, it can do also other games, example of PC games. And creator creates the rule. AI tries to win. Of course rules aren't complete in existence. But to have fun. Remember your MOD is the worst than HotA did well.

error #10 while updating HoTa
Hi
can you help me with such an issue : just installed new h3, downloaded HoTa 1st time and while first attempt to update client an error # 10 pops out -
Error # 10 - failed to download _HD3_ DataCommonhdq_bsta.bmp
i can launch the game, but while trying to connect to the lobby, it says that the server is offline - it's not true
What to do next homies?

Been a while - just got around to playing with 1.6 and I am THRILLED with the changes to secondary skills.
The secondary skills are an amazing build customization feature in Heroes 3 and I like my options to vary by my circumstances... rather than be dictated by the effectiveness of the options.
Now hopefully something can be done with Eagle Eye and Learning.

For years the HotA crew stubbornly refuses to bring any significant changes to secondary skills. Leaving the community with completely useless skills and the meta just evolves around avoiding picking up these skills on your hero because they mean defeat most of the time. No matter how many suggestions the community makes, they all get ignored. This mod could be great but the lack of proper secondary skills rework kills it for me 100% and the sad part is that this won't change with future updates.
