I also thought HotA's campaigns somewhat hard. Probably because I'm not a hardcore player and it's been a while since I played this game the most.
The first campaign I remember finishing one of the maps in the last day.
The second campaign I stopped in the first map. Somehow, didn't got the right strategy to fetch the stronghold castle in question with my current forces. I must have missed something. I'll get back to it when I feel like it again, maybe in a couple of months.

Yeah you are right, sometimes I would'nt know what to do without the powerfull "spell" that is save/load. Still you gotta agree with me on ballistics, morale, luck and whirlpools, it's a bit annoying, when the ai cheats like that, but I guess it would be completely useless if it did'nt.

No I don't agree. AI has no boost in morale or luck, at least no valid research could find such thing. On whirlpools it has no penalty but you also could use them safely if know the rules.

If I remeber correctly, the HotA orcs were orange pigs, it's the original orcs that are green...
Btw, maybe this should be asked in the Era thread but is it possible to have HotA as an Era mod also, so we can add minor mods to it that doesnt clash or is it too much/impossible work. The problem would be Era requiring Wog which is incompatible with HotA but I remember Bersy talking about a SOD only version, so, is it hypothetically possible?

Um no, there is some confusion going there. Hota could be done as replacing town mod for Era but there is no real demand, I saw none until now, and the only thing era has from Hota is the objects patch. As for creatures he doesn't like, he can easily swap with vanilla ones by replacing from H3sprite.lod to Hota.lod, after identifying the defs required. It's a bit of work, but can't have the cake and the money for.
The backside is that at every HoTa update, the replaced creatures will be reverted, but no biggy if he keeps a folder about.

Fine then, I guess you will never agree with me on anything. Suit yourself then. I know the rules but I need Sea Captains Hat or Admirals Hat, unless I wanna destroy my own army...

@Sal
I have the objects and creature mods, they are cosmetics. What I meant was a mod that lets you play a HotA map with Hota objects, town, creatures, adjustmens (such as nerfed necromancy and bad luck), artifacts simply by loading that mod only, an identical HotA experience under Era. But I guess that wouldnt be possible as long as Era requires the Wog mod to run in the first place.

As long as you state untrue facts about Heroes, indeed. And no, you don't need any artifact to pass whirlpools, just to know how they work and minimize loss. Let's say you have 300 titans and 500 gremlins. What is the minimum loss you can manage when going through whirlpool and how many times you can take a whirlpool without losing a single titan?
@Artu
Era is wog. For some reasons, Bersy called it Era instead of Wog 3.59 but it still has wog goals and limitations, which means add more action and customization, but not add more ID content, as creatures, artifacts or towns. For those reasons, Era will never be able to run or integrate HoTA.
As for nerfed necromancy, this is one line erm code, easy to do. But there is no demand, neither.

There is no right or wrong, there is your opinion and my opinion and I know whirlpools destroy half your weakest creaturestack in your case it might not be so bad losing 250 gremlins, if you have 300 titans! But what if you only have 500 gremlins?, then you lose half your army by taking a whirlpool...

While there are two opinions, mine and yours, only one is right in this case. If you are still at level of "whirlpools destroy half of army", then you have a long way to go. The 1st answer was: 1 gremlin will be lost at each go through if you know rules. The second answer was: 500 times, and this is BASIC knowledge.
I don't know why you insist on looking so knowledgeable about Heroes and continue posting untrue facts. Not that I take some pleasure on correcting you, but such stubborn attitude goes beyond decency.

There is no trick. He said himself:

Yet he tells he will lose 250 gremlins if he has ONLY 500 gremlins in army. Does the logic bell ring now?

Yep, I know, make weakest army 2 Gremlins but what if you are traveling with 3 Azure Dragons? I wouldnt know, I seldom see water in H3, my default is random map with land only.

Many mapmakers place early whirlpools without giving any artifact, because both artifacts against whirlpools allow summon boat additionally, and this may be unwanted at that moment. The fact that a whirlpool will eat half of your weakest stack makes very easy to circumvent their danger. If you go with only level 7 monsters through, expect to lose 1 but usually such situation is never meet or if forced, blame the mapmaker.

Well I guess if you split your 500 gremlins with one stack with only 1 in it, it will only devour that one gremlin? I would'nt know cause I never use whirlpools unless I have Sea Captains Hat or Admirals Hat. Then their losses does'nt really matter, but your army won't be of much use anyway. If you travel with higher level creatures and are forced to pay with several higher level units, then suddenly the whirlpools might not seem so attractive... AI always only pays one of their weakest units, not half the stack...

Okay even better for the AI then. But my point was only that the AI seems to get some advantages over humans, but I guess that's fair since it does'nt play that well.

Hey, the work is very awsome, but I wait for a campaign editor, because it really is awsome. And one more suggestion:
Excepting the campaign editor, there would be one more helpfully think, I mean more editing the properties, for example editing (in the map editor) the magic schools, and for example WHAT magic should you learn, and even allowing the player edit the chests.
