Damn, I used to really not like the idea of Forge but now the more I looked at your renders and ideas I got really hooked and can't wait to see it realized. So, yeah, sorry for bombarding with questions about distant future releases after you just made this really nice release, but this project has really grown on to me and I just have to know .

Oh, almost forgot, do you guys plan on releasing new Scenario maps..the ones you added are really nice and I enjoyed them thoroughly.



Forge is frozen until key team members will decide that it is time to start bringing that thing to life. As for now it seems like a VERY distant future. There is plenty of other complicated things to do. Here are some ideas about what can be expected in some more reasonable future.

-Highest priority: fixing all those bugs and crash issues we are receiving from all sides. It will take some time... More than I, for example, expected. There are some unobvious unrepeatable bugs. Maybe Sav will say more if he decides to.

-A lot of subtle balance fixes after HotA will be presented to multiplayer community (which will happen after all the critical bugfixes)

-As I've already mentioned in a previous post - reworking most unusable skills and spells

-Upgrading sea content and trying to make random sea maps playable enough

-Continuation of HotA storyline and some new single maps (probably of new sizes as well)

-As always - tons of graphical fixes and improvements

-/reserved for remembering something else /

It's annoying because the music is so 'strong' on the senses. I actually cannot get myself to start the battle before the music has come to an end, even if the screen is not locked. I don't know if I'm alone in this, however, I don't see why this feature shouldn't also work with HD mod on.

As for scholar - I don't think that anything will be done to it. It is rather reasonable skill, that has its clear area of use. Not all skills should be top-wanted for any hero. Learning is however total crap, yeah and atm has no area of use at all.

I pretty much got to disagree, I think it's not only not top-wanted for any hero, but bottom-wanted for every hero

My two cents, every skill should have appeal,
I wouldn't pick Eagle Eye, Learning or Scholar to save my life, not with Diplo or Earth Magic on offer,
but I'll leave that to you guys

For me not the fact that there are useless/undesired skills is bothering. I like the chance influence/possibility to have to deal with mediocre heroes/skills.
Instead it is a little bothering that there are proportionally more magic skills of limited usefullness(Mysticism,Scholar,Eagle Eye,Sorcery).

I agree on scholar, is a good skill for a secondary hero.

Mysticism, Learning and First Aid are the skills that more need an improvement, IMO.

Armorer, Sorcery & Resistance could benefit from a extra 5%, maybe (Tazar needs to be capped though ).

Whoa, really, that is a lot of posts that deserve an answer (more of less - almost every post in this topic), but sorry guys, I just don't think I have time/forces for every single one

Learning is very interesting in wog, maybe should be carried on: 50% chance that on level up you receive a primary random skill.

As it is means nothing.

Played "When Seas Were Deeper" map, currently at the beginning of month 3, and I'm... bored. Things seems static, AI is terrible and I'm playing impossible level. Should've figured it'll turn out like this. Soooo... me needs some mods or something, help! I need some WoG stuff like improved skills and spells (but as I read this is still work in progress), more map objects, more towns, more creatures and upgrades (maybe lvl 8 creatures), some decent unfair AI, commanders etc. etc.

Oh btw, there were some crashes but the game worked fine after reload, so I guess it's pretty stable. And the 250x250 Giant map iz osum, I was -> -> when I saw that. Great work so far, keep it up

Having trouble with MAC OS.  Downloaded GOG.com version of Heroes 3 Complete.  Installed via Wineskin.  Installed 1.3.1 via Wineskin into the original Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete folder.  Installed H3 HD Mod into the same folder.  Created a HD+ version of h3hota.  However, when I run H3Hota HD.exe, the resolution is glitchy and game is not playable due to terrible resolution issues.  I have a 1440x900 screen (MacBook Air).  Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?


Thanks!  Greatly appreciate your hard work HotA team.  My friends and I have been playing heroes since the late 90s, and we love the new stuff you've added!

Edit:  Now, the game opens, and I can hear music but the screen is black (until I hover something over the screen, like calculator or notepad, at which point, certain parts of the game become visible.)  When I click a button such as new game, the screen does not change.  Once I hover notepad over the game, it will change.  Obviously not playable this way.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  This is soooooo frustrating haha.

Coming from WoG, he doesn't even know that HMM3 has multiplayer support.

Seriously, stick with WoG and don't play HotA, and hopefully we'll never see commanders in HotA.

Well, HoMM3 AI IS boring when single-play, at all difficulty levels.

Thus, for those hoping HoTA means better/different challenge or game play, there is no such. Is same Heroes, with extra quantity content. You don't need to be older than 15 to see this.

Now seriously, what does multiplayer have to do with all of this anyway? Multiplayer won't fix lack of content, things are bound to get boring sooner or later. I'm at month 3 with my starting area completely secured, with the map discovered almost entirely, with 7 AI that don't do snow and are in wait for me to get their towns. I don't find it so enjoyable but this might just be the map's fault in the end. I should modify it and give them 3 starting towns, but I doubt that it'll do the trick.

So, bashing on me aside, are there any mods or other things compatible with HotA that I could use to spice things up a tad?

Gonna try a campaign now, or maybe a random gigantic map. Meh, sorry if I sound like a complaining snow.
