Well if I want to play single player, I play ERA WOG - banning TP/DD and artifacts that give them, starting without fort, they have enhanced AI and a few other things like growing numbers of neutral creatures by 10% every week ( removing most of the wog starting options like commanders/troops exp/most of the new buildings ). In one version I think I've seen removing the portals on the maps too. I've already played a game where neutral creatures grew to the thousands (7th and 8th lvl) blocking every way, without having a way to bypass them. At that point AIs just stopped moving, which was no fun at all. It was more fun trying to get to the AI than the actual combat with it xD and even having diplomacy meant nothing, because creatures always attacked, because of their str and numbers ( didn't manage to get even one troop with diplomacy that game ).
Anyways Cloak Of The Undead King only needs to be nurfed a little more, like lowering the number of liches gained by half maybe and making the items not appearing that much. ( hardest thing to get still remains the amulet )
ps. Conflux being third in HP doesn't mean a thing, because you can't use resurrection/sacrifice on most of the units and the units that matter have low HP, so it's bad for end game and prolonged fights, and the speed is not that great, because only 1 unit reaches to the other side without a spd boost, most of the other races have at least 2 speedy units that can hit in first round.
Also don't get why Luna is the best mage. Brissa is way better, because making a 3-4 spd unit gain 8 spd with haste is imba. And having 6-7 units first hit in first round with one haste is OP

Couldn't you just use the 'HW rules' module when playing against the AI as a temporary solution (until the crew implements their own solutions natively) seeing as this module already currently puts restrictions on imbalanced stuff like Undead Clock, DD, diplomacy, etc? Just a thought.

No, it needs to be fully banned by default with an option to lift the ban. It is a signature artifact that was designed to be OP on par with Armageddon's Blade that doesn't really has any place in default games.

No, it is not. There are tons of options to find treasure artifact and in HotA parts of combos cannot be set as unique quest items (in RMG). Major artifacts on the other hand are the hardest to get in the game

Yep, that will be like the main part of the tutorial. Pro players however know it all too well. 90% of the game goes not against your opponent, but against the map and Luna is just best dealing with it even without any army.

"HW rules module", what is this and does it work with HotA?

Also nice video Nik, never played much with Luna myself, but this is awesome.

It's an addon for HD mod. It's compatible with HotA, yes. Just add it in the HD mod launcher.

Hmm just checked out the features of this mod and I like that Cloak Of The Undead King only rises skeletons and Expert DD can only be cast 2 times a day. However the extra nerfs to Necromancy, impossible to visit Cartographers and Hill Forts and that neutrals can't join I don't like. (I made my own restrictions to diplomacy) So this mod is not a mod for me.
Thanks for the heads up though hippox89, did'nt know about this mod, I don't come to that forum as I don't speak russian.
EDIT: Also the updates after 1.20 are only in russian, so I have no idea what is changed hereafter.

These features don't work in HotA. As well as any features that were fixed here. We keep in close contact with the author of this mod to keep it up-to-date with current HotA rules. The main purpose of that mod is to automate some online rules of biggest multiplayer community. And it does that correctly for SoD and HotA alike.

Btw, here are recommended rules for online games on HotA for now:

I don't think we are talking about the same level of guards here. I'm talking about clearing 5-7 lvl creature guards at week 1. Not little mob packs for treasure chests or crypts

Hota crash

when i start playing hota i had crashes from time to time but now i can't even start a game because of the same crash, when i try to start a game it wrotes: "Critical error. CRASH info file was generated." and game just stop reponding and shuts down... anyone can help me pls?

Sorry if I made the wrong impression, but really a lvl 1 Luna vs a lvl 1 Ciele, Ciele would be way better considering that you may need to go against archers during first week.

Okay thank you very much.
The ban on monster acceptance I don't like, it makes diplomacy near useless for players and completely useless for ai, as it never surrenders, but always retreats. The other things sounds good though.
Just to be clear, does these things affect ai as well or only human players?

Not sure about monster acceptance and DD. Hit-n-run is human only. All the rest is for both

It is a package for hardcoding HW multiplayer rules. In mp diplomacy is totally broken and there is no surprise that it is banned. It still can be used for making crucial buy-outs cheaper
