Hi All
I found a bug in HOTA 1.4.2
artifact: elixir of life [+25% to life]
Each of the creatures only adds +4 to life- In my team from the skeleton to the dragon.

The +25% does'nt work on undead, elementals, gargoyles and golems, so it's supposed to be like that.

That's something that was meant to be in the game - even without the HoTA mod. Not a bug.

i'm using HD launcher version 4.100 RC11 (4100209) and hota 1.4.2. from time to time during the update check i get this error:
and after clicking on "abort" i see this:
at first i thought it's an update that fails to download properly, but i think i'm already at the latest version. after clicking it away and launching the game again it works fine.

Can someone explain me how to play Horn of the abyss + hd mod online ?
I tried to use Gameranger program to do it, i changed name of Hota aplication to Heroes 3 to launch it, but unfortunatly game starts without hd mod. Sometimes games crashes for to reason - one player can't join the game when serwer begins to run.
How do you play online? Do you use diffrent program to play? What am I doing wrong?

To make gameranger launch hota with hd mod, in hd mod launcher dropdown menu, select h3hota.exe. Then click "create HD exe" button, and save. Rename the newly created "h3hota HD.exe" into heroes3.exe.

Hey everyone.
I'm kinda thinking about making a stream on playing the first mission of new campaign. As one of the guys who tested it, I wanna respond to all those, who consider it over-the-top hard and at the same time create a kind of tutorial on playing through hard maps in general.
But since I'm thinking about making it in English and the most regular watching community is russian speaking, I need to ask first - would it be actually interesting to you? Would you, personally, watch several hours of campaign gameplay (with some save-loads inevitably) live?
If it will happen, it will be either wednesday or the next weekend from about 10-12 AM UTC.

I did exacly like you say but game crash whenever we start serwer ( doesnt matter who host and who join )

I might be interested in that, but I'd be more interested in when the next update is coming, have been waiting since you teased it first time, 24th february.

In all honesty, I didn't consider the first mission of the new campaign to be too hard. Personally, when I think of a hard mission that had me resort to cheating to get past it, I'd say the first mission of Bidley, when he's facing off against a Stronghold player with 4 (?) towns at the start.

I actually did record an effective run of this mission a while ago. It was in Russian though. And on much older version (1.2 I think). Also, as the main idea was to make an effective offline run (winning in as minimum days as possible) and not just to complete the mission - I did utilize offline features like "Invite hero" and "Pre-run map analysis". The map can be won w/o those features, although I still do recommend at least one scout run w/o much immersion on any map just to get an idea of the thing before actually starting to play it.

Nik, I think this would be appreciated by a lot of people,
I tried to make a walktrough but recording went horrible and now i have a bunch of random stuff on youtube because i was like'meh, screw it' and people actualy send me a lot of questions.
If you don't feel like giving it another try i might do it myself again soon

In theory yes. But I'd like to hear from those 'a lot of people' before actually commiting to it). Many of my russian viewers will be quite annoyed if the stream is in english and no one from english-speaking communities is actually watching it

wouldn't it be easier for you and for the people interested in it if you made an article about it with screenshots and explanations? reading an article for 10 minutes tops would be better than viewing a video for a few hours. And it's easier to translate it.
