Whining for a new update is not going to help, these people invest their good time without asking your money to give you fun. Just wait for a new update and stop asking for new things frequently. I know for one how annoying that xan be.

Well, you could start and play the Hota campaign. Personally I don't get it how somebody can ask for updates almost every week but acknowledge he never touched the campaign.

2 posts in two threads this week, one criticizing Nephretes town, the second criticizing Hota's lack of updates. What about you remove that spoon from your mouth and stand in line, like everybody else.

And you could stop stalking me and mind your own business? Here, about HotA, I am just saying loudly what majority thinks, and you can't deny it. About Oasis, I was just giving constructive feedback. If he publish it right now, as it is, I wouldn't mind, but I gave my own opinion, so maybe, just maybe, he can improve few things. "WOW, THIS IS SO AWESOME" is worst kind of posts, it brings nothing to discussion, and I consider it as spam...

I have played the first campaign and it was pretty fun and challenging. But to be honest I never cared much about campaigns, so I very rarely play campaigns.
I mostly care about making my own map even better...

oO Whats the matter with u... if you want updates try VCMI... with tons of junk scratched together and piled up to something like a town. (No offense but most towns look like that, not to mention copyrights...) at least you got content there. Dunno about you, but I for myself have something called reallife. And my reason to live isn't HoMM3 and it won't be, it's just a hobby from time to time when I find the time, I guess it's the same with HotA crew. Meanwhile play WoG, CVMI, Era... since HotA is autoupdate it notifies you anyways about updates. The time you criticise other with utopic/useless demands would be better spent in learning, modding, coding or creativity, for example how to do something similar like HotA team did or even offer your help there: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=40439. Go on, let's see how u do... instead of demanding BS...

i can wait; but some things you guys put out usually ends up in the maps i'm going to release(and you guys shouldn't feel robbed if someone uses your work outside of the HotA expansion project, but flattered that people are using your work. that means that you made available a quality product. it should make ya'll feel proud. my two cents). meaning, when you guys release content, that's another part of my maps, finished. i have plenty to work on until then(i'm making another map to replace one of my 3 that i'll be releasing, currently).

just so you know, leprechauns already played a part in one of my best maps(they have since years before you posted info about releasing any leprechaun-related content). it's just that now, i can actually give them a bigger part in it.

You may not realise how huge of a TODO list Docent has in terms of graphics (and not only graphics). Some things from that list get to release, some wait for the next one. Your work got in the queue (to be upgraded and included) and just still didn't make it to release. But it will.

To everyone (including fred): yes, we do work on this project in our free time, but:

1) We do not use ALL of our free time for HotA. One needs to rest and pursue other things in life from time to time.  

2) Sometimes there is just no such thing as "free time". Depending on your occupation such periods can last for months.

When did it become so? In previous times a year of waiting wasn't too excruciating. Now it is usually half a year before an update and 3 months is already too much?

It's just that you posted 24th february that Hota 1.4.3 would be here soon and that is almost 3 months ago, maybe don't post such as it will only get people disappointed if nothing happens...

Strange update

Hey, when I tried to launch HotA today I got a popup asking me to update it. It didn't list what changes it would be making, and then while trying to update downloaded the files and failed to find some folder causing the installation to fail.

What happened?

Ah, this. Yeah, that's why HotA Crew almost never gives any release dates. In the case of 1.4.3 "soon" meant that very little work (from my POV) remained to be done before release would be possible. And it still remains so. I apologize for the inconvinience, I've misjudged the probability when giving the prognosis. Let me correct that mistake:

- When is the 1.4.3 coming?
- As soon as it is done

before posting in bug/imperfections thread, I want to make sure it is really a bug:
1)
First Campaign, first map:
It is a small map and goal is to build Castle. But I cleared the whole map and have not enough wood to build it. There is no more wood at the map and everything is cleared. And I did not build unnecessary buildings which needs wood.

2)
While playing the Camp 3, map 1, I noticed in combat after some time when I hover over the enemy, I can see their movement shadow.  But when I start a new game, I cannot see it. Is this a bug, or do I need a hero skill/artifact to see it?

Is there a thread for feature requests? E.g I would like to have:
1) Witch Hut: Ask the player if he wants to learn that skill, do not just teach it. (everytime save and load while entering a witch hut, anoying in MP)
2) Prevent AI from using water whirls again and again, if they will loose alot of their army because of it? Or is there already something, like AI does not loose troops?


Comment on the new campaign:
Campaign is extreme hard. I would say I'm advanced heroes player and it's not a problem to beat AI players at hardest settings at a balanced map. But the maps from campaign I played so far (camp 1, map 2-> too many neutral creatures and camp 3 map 1->Enemy has much higher growth) are terrible hard, not to say impossible.

Note: I installed HotA over Heroes Complete with HD+ installed.

You can build a marketplace within your Town, so you can trade for the Wood you need.

There is an option within the game settings to show the movement shadow. Could it be you updated the HD mod and/or HotA? Some settings may have been reset during the update.

The AI player never loses troops while passing through a whirlpool.

HotA is designed to challenge experienced players who have little challenge in the standard maps and campaigns.

As far as I know, the reverse is always advertised: install the HD mod as the final one, after all the other mods. So the follow up order would be: Heroes 3 Complete -> HotA -> HD mod.

The combat movement shadow is/was always active and I see the shadow for my units. But the shadow of enemy units disappeared, also when I load the savegame. I did not change any settings and did not update anything (auto update deactivated). Strange...

At the opening post of this thread is written:
nstall to a folder with either clean SoD or Complete (plus optional HD mod) or older version of HotA. So I thought the order would be:  Complete , HD, HotA.
But I just reinstalled everything in the order you suggested. Seems to be no changes. Still no movement shadow from enemy units...


Btw. the HD websites says it is compatible to HotA v 1.3.8. So maybe it is not fully compatible to version 1.4.2?


How about the feature request with the Witch Hut? Was this discussed already? If so, what are the arguments against it?  

And another request:
In combat I can left click on my unit and get the info window. Now I can right click and hold on everything in that window, which is very good to get an additional tooltip. But when I leftclick enemy units instead, I don't get that window to get additional tooltips.
You could add this.

This point is one of my top priority on my wishlist aswell. It's just anoying as snow, why would you listen to a witch anyways if she has nothing to tell you are interested in?

It was discussed in this thread aswell, but without any solution so far, and witchhut behaviour didn't change in 3+ HotA updates, so I guess it won't happen at all.
