thanks for the info. question: if i am able to make defs from these and recolor them to match the grass terrain, would you guys have any issues with me releasing them in my patch? seeing that you guys aren't going to use them, atm.

cool. i'm working on the transition now. i think i have the base formula down; just need to tweak the edges, and if that doesn't end up optimal for the end result, i will cut more of the edges off before i resize to standard and fix those(as the edges have darker erroneous pixels and also lighter areas that are created with the transitioning formula that will have to be tailored manually). however, i certainly appreciate having a png file to start with; much less original quality lost that way.

@Docent_Picolan Anything for melee combat to the Bounty Hunters/Gunslingers once they're out of ammo/blocked, like daggers?
Or will they attack with the short range handguns shooting similarly as were the currently fixed bugged sharpshooters when hero was using the Bow of the Sharpshooter, and sent them into melee combat mode?

I'd like to talk a bit about flying units in Factory. At the moment it was presented one this kind of unit. This is another dragon or beast which was called  by community Coatle or Wind Serpent. I have some doubts about character of this unit because in my opinion it could be something more compared with stempunk or wasteland. I got this same feeling about Stormbird in the Cove. In my opinion this is a bit to close Thunderbird, but here I can understand that it was hard to find something flying for pirates. In my opinion   for  Factory it looks quite different because of  steampunk character of this fraction – so potentially we shouldn't have this kind of problem.

I'll try to propose some flying units which will be more steampunk:

1.) Mechanical Owl / Athena's Owl – I can compare this to the Golems which are made in Golem Factory - non-living animated statues


And 2 more - in my opinion too much futuristic


2.) Mechanical Whelp / Mechanical Dragon (Hearthstone)


This proposal are maybe a little bit too similar to the Dragon
Golem which will be probably unit tier 7.  (By the way I hope so.)

3.) Mechanical Vasp
4.) Black Vulture (Duels of Champion) – if it must be some beast, this one is for sure  characteristic for wasteland terrain

Have you noticed that this hobbit/halfling wields a freaking bomb? At first I was sure it's a pipe, but then "WcaleNieMorglin" at AcidCave zoomed it a bit. It's gonna be fun. I already feel Back To The Future Part 3 vibes !

Im so happy and hyped about Factory

I think idea of 3 human type units its good

1. Hobbits and this fashion litle gentelman older brother with bomb are soo good
2.Hot girl with flamethrower its fantastic i love her.Kinda think what upgrade what look like maybe some armor on her and gas mask in steampunk fashion ?
3.Cowboy man its real badass i like idea with 2 handed rifle (Acuatlly wielding 2-hand and high lvl unit maybe 5 ? Its remind me kind of Stinger from forge but difrent line up i Like it ! )
4. Serpent snake i dont know much about him right now (Anyway first time when i saw him in trailer i was thinkg its small dragon made by glass (collor of his wings) )
5.I would like see crazy profesor more like big man with size of Ogre but has a body with parts in steampunk style like new hand and feet big steampunk key to fight with
6. Also in 7 lvl i would like see steampunk Dragons mechanical destruction in battelfield !

A question for HotA Crew:
How did you "teach" AI to cast Berserk? Is it just simple changing of some digits in the exe or?
There are currently 5 combat spells AI never casts: Remove Obstacle, Fire Wall, Land Mine, Quicksand and Force Field, is it simple to teach AI to cast them?
It cannot cast Scuttle Boat either, which I also think it should.

Its from old concept of Factory when this was more I WW or Diselpunk i dont think this will suit well in Factory right now

Guys, Docent said all humanoid units were revealed already (halfling, fire lady and bounty hunter). We know the fourth (serpent), so that leaves three more units. 99% sure tier 7 will be a Dragon Golem.

What's left are three units. A flier is likely, so a mechanical bird is a good idea imo. I think the last one will be some kind beast-mech or a (steam) tank maybe?

I think wind serpents would make sense in the line-up, since they're most likely there for research purposes.

To be honest, I would even dare to speculate that it would push further the theory of Factory having a Dragon golem as their tier 7. Like, they first investigate the attributes and appearance of the wind serpents, and then later make machines based on their research. Also, I would like to point out that Hota does not necessarily need to go with NWC footsteps, and end up having the same looking Dragon golems we have in Homm4. I mean Factory's dragon golems may even be called with a different name such as Mechanical dragon, and I could very well see them as a flying unit as well. (after all, we currently have only one creature which I can think of being able to fly)

Currently only creature I can't seem to understand are the Gunslingers. What's their reasoning of being part of Factory? I'm not being scepctical, but rather curious.

20 years of homm3 and we're still receiving stuff like this. Wow, just wow. Keep up the good work.

That's how one of the Factory's dwelling looks like. We know that it's called Serpentarium. On the columns we can spot 2 blue snakes. Does the creature that we can recruit there look like them or similar to them? Is it the same creature that we could spot in first revealed trailer in Todd's army?

The only problem is that creature there has wings. Does it mean that only upgrated version will gain the ability to fly? Or maybe are they 2 separate units - snake and some sort of dragon? Also is it reference to creature from old Might and magic game?

I like the big gun for the gun slinger.  The tech behind a two handed musket feels more fitting in the HoMM3 lore than traditional 6 shooters.  Or give the pistol a turret wheel (Cochran turret pistol as an example) or some other weird mechanism to make it look more fantasy / steempunk.

The town sure looks beautiful in the teaser and is going to be a welcome addition, but I have no idea how they're going to make it lore-friendly.

MM was never about steampunk. It was always high fantasy on one end, and Star Trek-like sci-fi on the other. Steampunk feels like a half-measure here, unfortunately. Not to mention the entire setting never even showed a single trace of steampunk influences. Still looking forward to this though!
