What creature is the one seen here?

By the way, given that you are considering golems, how about making the Golem Factory a normal Lv.3 Monster Dwelling and make other dwellings that give all golems?

Maybe: 1 dwelling for each Gold, Diamond and Steel golems PLUS one guarded dwelling that gives all 5 golems.

With the current one, the Tower has a great advantage or disadvantage (depending on many factors) in maps where Lv1-3 dwellings are found near the towns.

Also, since it is New Year, I'd like to write a wishlist for future developments of this mod:
* Town Screen graphics change based on the terrain and the presence underworld, overworld. Also, through map editor, a certain background can be fixed given a town.

* Upgrades for all Neutral Creatures.

* Bring back the original HotA idea of at least 1 alternate unit choice for all factions in Heroes IV style. If you make 2 you can cover more or less all the existing 3DO M&M universe in Heroes 3. I'm going to write a list below where the 1st unit is also the "most important" (in case you decide to have only 1). Most of these choices are inspired from Heroes IV and Might & Magic VIII.

Castle: Paladin(Lv7) and Squires(whatever level you had planned them)
Rampart: Satyrs(Lv4) and Leprechauns(Lv2)

Tower: Dragon Golems(Lv7) and Gold/Diamond Golem(Lv5)

Dungeon: Rogues (Lv2) and Nightmares(Lv6)

Inferno: Succubi(Lv4) and Kreegans(Lv6)

Necropolis: Mummies(Lv3) and Werewolves(Lv4)

Stronghold: Boars (Lv2) and Nomads(Lv3)

Fortress: Giant Spiders(Lv3) and Cuoatls (Lv5)

Conflux: There are many possibilities here but I'm opting for two Dark Elf troops from Alvar Guild. One (possibly Lv3 or 4) are 2 handed swordsmen like Dark Elf Guards of MM8. Other is a Lv 5 or 6 Matriarch/Sorceress in Heroes V style.

Cove: Fangarms (Lv5) and Tritons (Lv 2)

Factory: Trolls (Lv5) - Factory is not out yet so I have no idea about 2nd one but I already chose trolls given their environment in Might and Magic 8. Note trolls could also go to Stronghold(traditional) or Fortress(MM7). P.S. Dark Dwarves with Repeater Crossbow (basic) -> Rifle(upgrade) might fit well to Factory theme.

Still, I made these lineups without knowing the Factory troop tree.

Savegame file (one that created before 1.6, not one saved after wrong convertion) may help to fix this issue.


I made a fresh installment of H3 and installed 1.6 over it to make sure everything is done correctly. I am still getting the same issue with savegames I made with 1.54.

is there any info on if hota team plans eventually to separate at least some spells into two different spells? (mass version and non mass version)

I cannot answer to your question, but did you notice that they nerfed Slow? On Adv. and Exp. there's a reduction rate of (old speed x 0,5 +1), so all creatures targeted will remain one more speed than they used to.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved with this project, it's amazing we still have huge mods to this game so many years after release.

I'm particularly stoked for the new terrain. Praise to the Devs and hope for many more updates in the future!

The convertion worked fine for my test savegame. I need the specific savegame file for which the convertion doesn't work properly. Thus I'll be able to debug and fix the issue.

What makes you think someone would deliberately ignore you or anyone else, for that matter? Both me and Tevye only answered one question each out of what, an entire page of posts since the announcement of the release? There are way too many questions right now for us to reply to every one of them.

And to (somewhat) answer your questions: neither myself, nor Tevye know the exact answers. Right now it's easier to either test it yourself, or just wait until someone else will get to answering your questions.

Ok, I accept that explanation since I've found myself the answer well hidden in the changelogs: it has been already partially solved. I just don't know what "partially" means, that I will have to test.
At least, I know the problem was addressed.

I send you a mail with the savegame. I forgot to mention that the game crashes from time to time with that save.

I've been playing with 1.6 for few hours, and tried to play with as many new features as possible. It's simply mind-blowing that we can have this kind of stuff after (soon) 21 years of the actual release of the game. Wow. Just wow. Thank you for everyone invloved in making this. It's amazing to see that you're still actively working with this, and this all is free for us. You guys are awesome!

I'm happy that we received some changes to the secondary skills, especially Logistics needed some attention, as it was possible the best choice for all heroes (main and secondary)in nearly any case.

What I didn't expect to see was very noticeable buff to Estates skill. I found myself often picking the skill for my non-main heroes, so atleast in my games, it did see play. But I wonder, was the reason to buff the skill to make it main hero worthy? Like now, it's a Gold Mine the enemy cannot really take away. Is this how the team envisioned it?

And about Mysticism: Are you guys happy how it is now, or will we see some changes to it in the future? It sure is way better than it used to, but I don't really see why I would really want to pick it, as mana regen is a thing one can live without (after all, you can only have 8 skills)

And lastly, can we get any information how you might want to make Eagle Eye, First Aid and Learning better, since IMO they're the rock bottom skills in the game?

I was just thinking about those skills too couple of days ago while playing, I find my self using the same set of skills since I remember my self playing HoMM. And I feel like the rest of the skills are not worth taking and they need a serious boost to them in order to spice the game up and make me use them more, just to try and diversify the game a little bit and play different templates.

Same going for some of the mobs in different towns, I find my self playing with same towns and same troops every time, just because they're more useful to play... I think some of the troops in different towns should be buffed somehow, just so there'll be a reason to use them more.
Also there's some towns I think need to be upgraded somehow, spells and so on.

Anyway, bottom line thanks to the HotA team and to everyone contributing to the developing of this wonderful game! It's defiantly the best game ever created, and the only game I can't ever get tired of playing for 20 years!

No and no. It will be added to the Factory in a later update.


So we have tower golems... and factory golems aswell? as units from factory itself (recruitable in factory town)? but also implemented in golem factories that are tower exclusively?? Thats kinda... weird somehow...
