Yeah, both Angel & Archangel were made in a 'classic' way (roman?). And I like them 1000 times more than the Ashan version.

And as they said above, it's already iconic of RoE.

As mentioned before, angel/archangel is to iconic to have his appearance changed.
I can also say that angels in both images are just too ornate. It would be perfect choice for H6 (or H5), but not for H3.
I really like the original, somewhat low fantasy creature designs in H3, so I'd stick to current angels, but...

There is one problem with archangels. Take a look at their animation. You'll notice that their wings are sprouting from their... well, loins and travel up and down their back during animation. I haven't seen anyone else being bothered by or even noticing it, but it still counts as graphical glitch I think.

You're quite right, it's definitely seem as an artistically shortcoming.

I made a rough image of how it might look like if fixed.

Red

During the new idle animation the wing tips sticks together into a whole without a line separating them; this looks somewhat glitchy to me when seen during the animation.

Blue

Gray pixels on the wing shoulder. I guess it's a tiny wrong.

Guys, a sec please, i need some help.
Everytime i run HotA through HD launcher i get this error message(im using 3.63 version).
Error
I wonder if that will have effect on the game, as i can still play if i choose quit(weird..., i know).
Then after i get into the game, the hero potrait just blank like this:
Blank
Buy another hero in town, quit the town, then:
Crash!
Bonus
There is no problem when im using HotA launcher though.
What should i do to help solving this problem?

PS: Another problem occured, newer version cant read the saved games.
   It say i dont have any saved games while my game folder have lots.
   The old version (1.2) dont have these problems.

BUG

Got a crash when trying to cast advanced level clone on the COVE town hero with clone specialty. Looks like an easy fix?

First CRASH window popped up. Then after I close that this popped up:

DirectDraw Error (16385):

'DDERR_UNSUPPORTED'"

Are you using HD mod by chance? I've reported clone crashes with Eovacius using HD mod. I don't *think* that the directdraw error '16385' has anything to do with the cause of crash itself. That error seem video related in itself, probably because of the crash, although, I don't get this error. What version of Heroes 3 are you running?

Pixel report (by the pixel police? )



There's noticeable pixel artifacts present in the Cove sky.

Edit: I don't know if such artifacts are caused by an limiting factor or of they're actually a 'bug'.



There's a rough outline present in the marked area (Inferno sky), although very hard to notice even when knowing it. I almost feel bad about pointing this one out. I think this can be ignored.



There's some visible artifacts present around the buttons (part of them).

That's due to the Heroes 3 colour palette (256 colours).

Okay I see, moving on. It's still a very beautiful sky, so whatever. I thought Heroes 3 used a 16-bit palette, though.

Yeah, I agree. That's just being too picky. I Would prefer if players would focus on more major issues.

Guys, just let him report all this stuff. One of HotA's tasks is to fix Heroes 3 graphical errors. There of course are some worse problems, but reporting such minor glitches is also important if HotA Crew already fixes several things.

And about that postscriptum: of course saves of new version are not compatible with the previous one, too many changes were made, that affected save format as well

While the ones for Tower, Conflux and Fortress are decidedly better I prefer the castle hills of the old Castle, Stronghold and Necropolis ones.
The new ones look somewhat bulldozed/flattened out.
Well, nothing to lose sleep over.
The foreground of the new Rampart one looks actually less detailed, somewhat like golf course turf.

Hota and WOG

Not sure where to post this, but I have two questions, would be grateful if you'd point me in the right direction please.

1. Can I install WOG Heroes 3.5 over a Heroes 3 Complete plus HOTA installation so that I can play wog maps as well as the Hota ones?

2. Struggling with the second part of the Hota campaign and though I've found the hota cove strategy thread, I can't find anything about this campaign specifically, is anyone else finding the same?
