Maybe this is some sort of sneak peak of reworked original campaings from Heroes 3? Rework of them makes sense cause brings possibility to add there Cove and Factory and new Hota objects. In armageddon blade campaign we have cinematic where some forgesmith helps to create deadly relic. Maybe in new version of campaign he will be Factory's hero.
Good eye, this scene was indeed an inspiration for the one from which the still in my post came. However, this is more of an homage. A rework of the original campaigns to run with HotA is still in the plans, though, but not of the old cutscenes by NWC.

Did you ever look at the numbers? Towns got some more differences besides skin/theme.
Take a guess why Galthran is banned.
Even taking balance aside why should the hero lineups be aligned?

I don't see the harm in more options. I can understand Galthran being banned, because of Necromancy, Skeleton Transformer AND giving the highest bonus of all creature specialists.
The 3 I mentioned would'nt be that crazy compared to Galthran. We also lack a Medusa specialist. (And a Pixie specialist, but it would probably suck.)
Edit: Forgot Air Elemental specialty, we don't have that either and Tark is not really suited as a standard hero, unless he also get a standard starting army.

It's just that introducing another creature specialist would probably mean they would have to ban another might hero. Technically, you could introduce such specialties on magic heroes (and replace the eagle eye specialists, perhaps), but it just doesn't work as properly. Perhaps they could introduce such heroes as 9th might heroes, but that doesn't really work well either.
Besides, they would totally affect the game balance.
Assuming the specialists would have at least decent secondary skills, especially Rampart would become much stronger, alongside with Tower.
Pixie specialist could be interesting, if it work like the rest of the Conflux might heroes, and get good stats right away rather than after scaling.

A Pixie specialist would be a stronger starting hero
than any other Conflux hero.

She would spend 3-4 weeks trying to upgrade those pixies though.
Not to mention what happens in a siege, you lose hundreds of them in a few rounds.

Official facebook announcement/update:
Quote: Friends,
It's been a long time since we posted any updates about the development progress. The work does not stop even for a day, however, we want to keep some of its results in secret, so you're in for more intriguing experience getting acquainted with the updated addon, when it's out. Right now we have a few short bits of news for you 🤓
In the time elapsed since the previous post, we have managed to solve a number of very important issues involving game mechanics. The lineup is complete, and the Factory's army can't wait to get into battle - although the exact characteristics of the units may still be adjusted after testing. Among other things, after much discussion, the special ability of Halflings, which will be the Tier 1 creatures in the new town, has been finally approved. The basic version will fully replicate its predecessor from the original game, differing from it only in appearance; but the upgraded ones, Halfling Grenadiers, thanks to exploding projectiles created by talented artificers, will acquire the ability to ignore a certain percentage of the target's defense when attacking. This percentage will be flat, helping maintain the archetypal image of halflings as giant-killers. More defense on the target means a stronger effect. This ability will not be unique in the game, but it is relevant, does not depend on randomness, and is convincing flavor-wise. Of course, the innate luck of the Halflings is not going anywhere either 💣
Among other aspects, worth noting is the creation of video clips for the campaign Factory, as the big scope of work in this area is very close to completion. Here's an interesting fact that offers an updated look at the project's history: all the clips for the Cove campaigns had been created from beginning to end by just one team member, Maestro. This time, over a dozen people are involved in the development of the new campaign's cutscenes, using tech the team couldn't have imagined at the time, including Motion Capture. Over time, the development process is becoming more complex, but only more interesting.
By the way, there is good reason to believe that those who have played the Shadow of Death have already seen Factory in the game. No, we're not talking about the Golem Factory or even the Gremlin Workshop. Those with a keen eye will be able to see this for themselves and find the correct answer right after the release - when it finally happens 👀

You know, I always wondered why Armageddon's Blade creature specialists gave fixed boosts when no other heroes (aside Catherine and Roland) did.

This is flaming hot news.
I am eager to see the new units. I absolutely love starting a game with rangers, i usually make them my go-to army on my first hero.
Rampart, i take Ivor and try upgrading the elves ASAP. Same with Valeska and Castle. Even better with Dungeon you can rush medusas for two stacks of dominating rangers.
Cove also has pirates. If you can get sorceresses week 1, week 2 you dominate.
I really wish for the factory to bring life back into the game. I am eager to play again!

I guess I can see why (Magog fireball would be OP for creatures you start with, and the retal-disabling effect was probably overly random and thus unreliable). Gotta admit that it is consistent lore-wise, too. But I'm not a fan of abilities that kinda work in the background. I hoped for something radical
But, a level 1 shooter is always great to have. If the town offers a halfing specialist, it would be an extremely powerful week 1 town.

That's a "bug report" nobody can work with.
They'll need information about your system (OS, HoMM version), which file you tried to install (where did you get it from?) and why and how it failed (error message). Steps how to reproduce if possible.
