Indeed. Appears to be a newly introduced bug.

Will the Fortress townscreen be made consistent to the new map appearance?
On df2 there are those new Fort design proposals for Dungeon/inferno.
Will this get into the game?

I am delighted that this was released, but I am having difficulties updating.

I am looking at the folder with all of the HoTA files, and the ver.sion file indicates today's date (June 29, 2014) but when I use the launcher I still see 1.3.2 and when I click to run the game it offers the update. I have tried several times to update but it never seems to download/help. How do I fix this?

Well, some heroes should be pretty, joyful and bright; just not knight Beatrice, I suppose. I can understand if the '1.3.0 look' of her doesn't fit with some pieces of the lore about her. I don't get the part about her looking unrealistic, tho? Like, unrealistic in relation to the lore? If so, okay. My interests in lore stops at reading the hero descriptions, honestly, so I didn't think anything wrong thereof. Anyhow, thanks for the insigt in your reasoning behind her transformation, Docent.

What about Hypnotize? I could never use this spell in whole of my Heroes life! (it's 15 years now)
It's always said I can't use this spell on any creature... Only, when I have thousands of elite units and the enemy is few in numbers... and a simple Magic Arrow does the rest of the work...

I guess it takes time to balance a game properly. Honestly if HOTA team manages to do it they will be perfecting what is already a great game. We can agree that after some time of playing you get that some artifacts/secondary skills/spells are completely overpowered/useless if compared. Also might being way stronger than magic on the long run. Hero chaining. So it goes...

I am really curious about priorities they have on new content/balance/mechanics for a game with brilliant blending between RPG elements and turn-based strategy but also with huge flaws that end up turning the playstyle very linear.

I wonder how much they look back at HOMM2 or ahead of HOMM4,5,6...

You should post the actual crash log in this thread instead:

(HotA) Bugreports. Critical bugs.

Anyhow, you can also try downloading the standalone version.

Hi

I started playing it finally, and so far so nice!

I have few simple questions:

1) does the bug fixes & improvements as well as balances work on H3 and not just Hota? (my understanding i run hota exe to play hota single & campaigns, and run h3 exe for older campaigns).
2) how long and challenging hota campaign is? Should i start with old h3 campiagns to brush up my skills?

3) (not hota related) is there a particular order to start H3 campaigns?

2) I started playing sunday evening and although I did not play Heroes 3 for years I found the first HotA campaign to be quite easy. Maybe the second is more challenging, but that one I did not try yet.

Hey Morn. Are you the real Morn, so to say? Anyhow, thanks for sharing. She looks tough, pretty. Very different styles between these ones (from the album that you're linking to) and those made by Docent. My initial critique of the portrait, which you posted, would be that the colour contrasts could be made a little stronger, but maybe I'm just 'fooled' by the direct comparison to the other ones by Docent. *Edit: It seems to me that it's just the hair that's lighter than the some of the other versions of her. Also, it's kinda hard to see probably on my TFT display because of the viewing angles degradation*. The user 'OlegR' (author of the album) is that also the same person? (Morn).

This version of Beatrice is also interesting. It's a very sad/hurt expression, and she's not as beautiful. I rather like this version of the hair style and armour style. The colour contrasts seem balanced to me on this one.

Okay, I see. The expression has to fit the lore/idea about the character and then fill that shoe, so to say, of course.



Btw, Astra (and others) strikes a nice balance between a realistic looking person and a fantasy person. I'd say that the extremes, so to say, goes from Andel at the one end of the line and then Dargem/Elmore at the other end. There is such varieances in SoD, too, so I take it that it was a goal to stick to that with HotA. I mean, it would also have been possible to stick to a very specific kind of style for all of the new portraits. Maybe that would have been boring/limiting, tho, after all.

I m happy u reach to get out this new version. Then, your team is doing most things compares to conflux addon.

I m convinced your next goal, balancing the skill system, is a decisive step.

I like decreased crystals cost of cyclops cave, i like the idea to increase difficulty on bank creatures, cause it was probably too easy in the old version.

May the force will be with you, even if i think crusaders and Ayssid 's double attacks, as mass haste spell is imbalance.

Yeah, here i thought increased health points from 4 to 5 was right,.. i agree with this reset even if i don t know why.

Change gameplay is hard, my opinion to add gameplay to inferno : modify the building tree.
Pit lords can t be hired in the same timing than Demons, due to their prices and the fact they need them. A new strategy could be done with Imps-Cerberus-Pit Lords while the main set up of army is Imps-gog-Demons (For example, this army could be support with spells, so Pit Lords required mage guild)
Anyway, magog fireball/Archdevil Luck is already a huge improvement of gameplay.  

PS: I m asking if multiplayer internet games work ?
