the first mirror gets me a "download" named exe which gives me loads of adware and trojan crap. what the bleep guys?

Make sure you click the right download button. It's a free share site, there is a lot of advertisements, some of which can disguise as download links

Banning Cove heroes in map editor seems to be not working.
I banned almost all except Anabel, Derek, Illor, Casmetra, Spint, Dargem, but I still randomly get heroes like Corkes, Cassiopeia, Andal, and I can choose them as my main heroes before playing.
Can someone else confirm this?

Yes, we have plans of creation at least two neutrals: "Lobstrosity" (that hasn't any of graphics now) and a secret one (that has all of graphics). Both of them are in a rather distant future, especially the first.

There are several problems: lack of graphics, low priority at the moment and a problem of the general uselessness of neutrals in SoD which also need to solve somehow.

I was intending a small balance mod at some point. Many of the things you addressed already in HotA.
Even if you do not like all of below, I think many could easily find a place in a future HotA release:
NEUTRAL CREATURES AND BUILDINGS
Increased First Aid Tent hit points from 75 to 100
SPELLS COST & EFFECTS
Raised power of Hypnotize from 25 to 50
Raised Hypnotize Advanced bonus from 20 to 50, expert from 50 to 90
ADVENTURE MAP
Adventure map Stables no longer upgrade cavaliers (Or at least takes money for that!). (Caste is powerful enough as it is, without this).
ARTIFACTS - Reclassified some obvious "miss-placements"
Changed text of badge of courage to display immunity to mind spells
Changed type of badge of courage from Treasure to Major
Increased gold value of badge of courage from 1000 to 8000
Changed type of Necklace of Swiftness from Treasure to Minor
Changed type of Ring of Vitality from Treasure to Minor
Changed type of Garniture of Interference from Major to Minor
Changed type of Sandal of the Saints from Minor to Major
Changed cost of Emblem of Cognizance (+15% Eagle Eye) from 3000 to 2000.
Changed type of Emblem of Cognizance from Minor to Treasure
Changed type of Sack of Gold from Relic to Major
Changed type of Boots of Speed from Minor to Major

This release is great!
A big thanks to the whole team.
So what's up now? Forge is frozen until don_komandorr is out of the military? When is that...late autum/next witner? So it's ok to say that there won't be forge in 2014? Do you still plan on the whole switching to ERA thing for Forge or is it possible to add it without that?
Any other releases in between planned?
Damn, I used to really not like the idea of Forge but now the more I looked at your renders and ideas I got really hooked and can't wait to see it realized. So, yeah, sorry for bombarding with questions about distant future releases after you just made this really nice release, but this project has really grown on to me and I just have to know .
Oh, almost forgot, do you guys plan on releasing new Scenario maps..the ones you added are really nice and I enjoyed them thoroughly.

Crash logs from a network game. No AIs. 1v1.
Network battle, crash logs from both PCs
We played a game that lasted around 9 hours. I think we had 3 crashes in total. I *think* they were all battle crashes, against neutrals and players.
Btw, the game felt pretty fresh and new because of HotA, and we had a really good game. Much thanks to HotA. Also, I do love how creatures accumulate.

I have a couple of questions.
1:
What is the HotA crew's view on diplomacy? Is there any changes planned to it or is it even feasible ATM? (without ERM).
2:
Will we see more alternative options to alter the gameplay? (like creature weeks/plague off/on)
I'm thinking it would be cool to being able to limit some spells to their basic/advanced state instead of simply banning them. I'm mostly thinking view earth/view air here. But it's just a thought I'm not sure about, really. You can ignore this question if you like.

the hota map editor is not working. I am using windows 7 64bit.
message:
ResourceManager::GetText could not find the "text" resource "editor.txt".
Fatal run-time error!
someone knows where if i need this editor.txt file? or how to solve this?

I`ve just played the new campaigns. They outclass most of the original RoE/AB/SoD ones by far in terms of atmosphere,storytelling,variation/excitement.
A few small reports:
-A typo in the Shack and Upg. Shack description. It says 'Shackl'.
-Day 1 dialogue of the map 'Province' is not translated.
-The SoD bug that Castle's built-in lighthouse increases the sea movement points for all players still remains
-Map Editor descriptions os Diplomat's Cloak and Elemental Conflux map location are faulty
And a question:
In the old thread the new 1.3 heroes were inroduced with an extended hero overview screen. Does it appear somewhere in the game or is it planned to be used (f.i. in Main Menu when choosing heroes)?

As for the neutrals of SoD:
Most of them are already half-aligned with certain factions. They could be some of the "Alternative Creatures" feature you intended to include.
My bet would be:
->Peasants as Lv1 Castle, while the Alternative Choice is between the Pikemen(Raised to level 4) and the Swordsmen.(Non-upg pikemen need somehow a new graphic. They need to be heavier armored). The 2nd Alternative may be smth of your choice.
->Boars and Trolls can be alternatives of the Wolves and Ogres. It would be better if wolves had no riders in your version(for variety's sake) and Trolls must be somehow reduced to Lv4.
->Halflings and Enchanters can be the Conflux Alternative for Levels 1 and Level 6. However, both need upgrades.
->Mummies would be a good alternative for Necropolis. Raised to Level 4 they may replace Vampires. The other alternative may be the Ghoul(Level 2) giving Necropolis a more Heroes II flavour.
->Gold and Diamond Golems may be a Tower Alternative (for level 5). The other alternative is up to you. From your Concept Art section of the Gallery, it seems it's going to be the Sphinx, and I like that.
->Sharpshooter can be the Rampart alternative for level 4. The 2nd alternative is up to you, but I think Leprechaun for Lv1. P.S. in Rampart you must replace dwarves with something if you want to add Kronverk(My opinion-Replace them with the Satyrs)
->Rogues may very well be the 2nd level alternative for Dungeon. Strike-and-Return ability for rogues, make them stronger than harpies but slower. This would make them better for Defensive Tactics and harpies for Offensive Tactics. If you listen to me, you should make the Werewolf the other alternative for dungeon.
->Nomads are nomads. I don't think they would fit with any faction.
->This leaves inferno. But my guess is that for inferno, Succubus as Level 4 alternative and Nightmare as Level 6 alternative would be perfect.

That seems cheap move to use already existing creatures for the alternatives. I don't think HotA team will do that.

So after a few faulty attemps I've downloaded and installed the mod. Looks good so far, although I played for about half an hour.

Shrine of magic mystery looks too much like shrine of magic thought... Its kind of hard to tel them apart when you have a random map full of things.
- Request: When you visit a shrine and learn a spell the spell icon is shown. When you CLICK on a visited! shrine only text is shown. Would be nicer to see spells icon as-well.

Bug: (Campaign 'Under the Jolly Roger', map 2 'The island master').
As you can see in the picture, I lost my hero yet I don't lose the game (neither I can win, since I have no tavern).
