What hero class is in that town? Remember that some hero classes can't sacrifice artifacts, some can't creatures and some can both.
Edit: When in doubts, try right clicking, it's useful

Btw I would like to know what pikemen and orcs were changed? I prefer the older ones because they feel more originial HoMM3 not demanding to change them back though, just want to know the reason for the change...
http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=26298&pagenumber=1
Also, I read this old Hota thread a little and I would like to know will we ever get Kronverk or Cathedral town someday? I'm very interested especially in Cathedral... Also, a lot of images has been disappeared there. I would like to see the Cathedral units from somewhere! Also the town looks would be interesting to see too. Not sure if there were any pictures of town looks though

Your exact questions have been asked and answered numerous times.
Anyway,
as for Pikemens/Helbardiers... The original ones were badly proportioned (look at the pea-sized head) and looked wimpy.
The new Orcs were chosen for being more faithful to how they look in other games of the MM universe.
According to recent statements the HotA crew aren't working on any new town at the moment.
As much as I'd like to see the Kronverk town I don't get the fuss about Cathedral. The drafts don't show anything more than a rethemed Castle town.
Nothing groundbreakingly new.

Nevermind, HOTA will not release any new town in closest 2-5 years.
Who wants Cathedral, he can make it by himself.

That's somehow shame if there isn't any towns coming for long time I loved the Cathedral's style because it was so dark and gothic... Their description also make them so special! I also loved how the lvl7 creature looked! It would have been one of the best-looking creature ever in HoMM3

Docent actually said that the Pikeman/Halberdier is planned to be slightly remodelled some day. I also believe that I read a comment about the new Orc Chieftain somewhere, but I forgot what it was about, and I could be wrong. Maybe it was about the colour, but don't trust me on this.
As for a new town, Cove is still brand new. I don't personally have a huge need for a new town just now, and it's not because I don't want a new town added a some point (Forge), but Cove will be able to satisfy me for a long time still.

Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to the forums, but a huge fan of Heroes 3.. in fact I just recently did a retro review of the game. Are these 3.5 mods and expansions worth it?
Don't know which mod to start with if so.

Hi, Jake. I think only you can really answer your own question, however, if you don't want to simply go ahead and try out all of these modifications for yourself, I'd recommend HotA for the simplicity of the choice. HotA is arguable what you'd expect from an official, 3rd expansion to HMM3 made by another (old school) development team and with the hindsight of 14+ years of HMM3 history.
Can I read your review? You can PM me with it or whatever.

i dont know the 'unlucky' system, but how come my royal griffins and my angels got both bad luck in the same battle if i have expert leadership (+3) and angels (+1)? even if there are 3 alignments (-1) and im fighting against arch devils (-2), still, i should have positive luck +1.
Note that i have 2 'unlucky' artifacts. im thinking that maybe if there is no hero against me, the artifacts use their abilities on my hero?

leadership, angels and # alignments doesn't influence in luck, but in morale.
Provided you don't have artifacts nor skills that give luck, you should have -2 in that battle.

Leadership skill increases morale, not luck.

Dear Hota team,
I just want to know what's the point with monolith one way at the last scenario of 2nd campaign? The monolith which is near the 1st town... I'm on 3rd month at the moment and just entered to there with my main hero with full army from every cove town. Is it possible to get back home from there? Or do I have to start the whole scenario from the beginning again... *sigh*

Anyways I somehow managed to beat the map when I waited some months. But the trap wasn't fun surprise at all if it was the purpose... Anyways I encountered a weird bug in the final battle.
The enemy casted air shield, then he moved his ayssids and nymphes outside the wall. When it was my seadogs' turn, they could kill about 40 enemy ayssids with full arrow. But they could only kill about 15 nymphes? I was curious and shot the nymphes, and they really did kill only about 15 nymphes. At that time nymphes had air shield and ayssids had air shield + weakness. Weakness doesn't affect defense at all so I think it definitely was a bug.

Dargem has Air Shield speciality:
Casts Air Shield with effect increased by 3% for every n hero levels (n - target creature level).
At that map Dargem is 32 level.
For 1-lvl creatures Air Shield effect is 50% + 50%*(0.03*32) = 98% (damage is 50 times lower).
For 4-lvl creatures Air Shield effect is 50% + 50%*(0.03*8) = 62% (damage is a bit less than 2 times lower).
