If you're looking for a free editing software, try Gimp. If you are willing to pay for an editing software, I recommend Photoshop. If you are interested in 3d graphics, try blender (it's free) or spend thousands of bucks for autodesk software( 3ds max, maya, poser).

I won't comment directly about pirating software, but I find it absurd that a person should ever choose to spend such big bucks on expensive software without aiming for making a profit from it in some direct/indirect way. Students using such software in their education should get it paid by the public.

manual huh?
ok many people said i should read the manual and that it contains a guide on modding, then i thought the titles just tricked me, i've read some of it, and checked most pages ONLY to find the new features ERA added and the tools and all that crap?

Not that guide, use the search function in order to find tutorials for beginners, sadly, our moderators in Arcane Forge/WoG forum unsticked these tutorials. Try this, it will surely help you.

They were unsticked because big part of the data inside is obsolete (wog files are no longer supported)and tools linked are obsolete or dead links. Still there are useful infos inside but for a beginner to find what is still usable and what is obsolete is rather impossible.
A new tutorial is needed but who's gonna make it, I don't know. Gnollking had the talent.

yup, most of the links are died, furthermore the tutorials are old, most screenshots of tools that i see shows that they are outdated.
and i think HC has the only tutorials. but looks at what i found

i again say it, will ANYONE, EVER, answer the original question of this thread? i don't think so, most stuff i find is DEAD.USELESS. simple enough.
DEF EDITING: i don't think that needs tutorials, anyone can learn to do it by himself, like i did(with the right tools of course).
DISTRACTION: making a map, duh, a wog map, but i wouldn't just type in some unreadable nonsense(if you see it from a beginners view, it makes no sense). you see, someone could replace ERM with another language? right? say, Heroic-Java or Heroic C#(would be awesome).
and someone PLEASE, make an updated tutorial, for the sake of all N00bs here, you don't want them to have that much PAIN, do you? or is your heart made of reinforced iron? NO, OBSIDIAN(if you don't know it, it's something that needs the power of a diamond pickaxe to break it, minecraft players would know it) for the sake of the modding community! you freezed this thread so you just sit there, drinking coffee, watching N00bs getting crushed, bullies. you guys are just not confident in your skills, fearing that a N00b makes a greater mod by chance, a real pro helps others. actually helping people eventually makes an advantage as they will help create something bigger. WHY NONE HEARS ME? WHY? should you not answer me, it will serve as proof cause you guys are just bullies that push people out of the way, giving them a hit from the back. they request help, but you don't even feel pity.
i'm waiting, and looking at the forums almost everyday, and still no answer? PATIENCE HAS A LIMIT, and when that limit IS breached, force will surely be used, now make a tutorial, earn a QP, AND HELP OTHER PEOPLE! HC is to help people, to share thoughts, to discuss, not to bully people! easy as that.

the thread that lizardwarrior posted is where you want to get your info from. just scan through the thread. it's all pretty self-explanatory.
and as far as "bullying" goes, you might want to dial your own back a bit. you were told when you first came to hc, by me and others, to find what you needed by reading. there is a search function on this website, same as many other websites. if you don't know your way around the internet, or a forum, try asking someone in a nicer way.
but more importantly, try LISTENING. it's irritating when someone goes on and on and pretty much ignores people when they are trying to help.

you're in a hurry going nowhere. modding isn't a race. it takes patience, time, and dedication. if you don't have that at the beginning, you might as well forget about what you plan on doing here.

seems none said something here in a long while, ok i'll go first, they made a tutorial, and i like it even though it's unfinished, and, to prevent spam and junk posts on it i decided that we should discuss thing related to that thread and comments of course, here. and i think it should be both stickied and locked when finished, any opinions, let's discuss here, or send a message to the author via the infamous HC Messenger. like captain price said in MW3, the world we live in is a giant tinderbox, all it takes is for someone to light the match, and one of you will light the match of this thread, ready?--- GO!
